Accidental Video

[ The video opens up to a view of shaking scenery and rushing lights and color, as it the device recording it has just been dropped from a significant height. The movement ceases when the device lands on the floor, still recording with its camera pointed upwards.

The foyer it shows is clearly familiar to everyone in Wonderland as the front of the mansion. What's not quite so familiar is the giant glowing UFO now hovering and weaving up near the ceiling. Green lights shoot out, scanning the surroundings, sweeping over every surface with an eerie glow.

Even the fallen phone gets scanned, although once it is, the UFO goes suspiciously still overhead before swooping down towards it with a startling speed. There's a voice, one that sounds suspiciously like a young girl, that gives a quiet exclamation. ]

Oops! Almost lost you. Hello there, my precious.

[ ...And then a metallic-looking tentacle snakes out from the bottom of the UFO to press the button that cuts the feed off entirely.

Just another day in Wonderland, right? There's totally nothing to see here, and certainly not a floating spaceship hovering in your entranceway. Carry on. ]

Audio

[ Although a short while later, a number of phones across the mansion might receive an audio transmission as someone tries to figure out and manipulate the strange network in this place and how to filter it to where she needs it to go. Hopefully she finds the targets she's looking for, but other inhabitants might pick it up accidentally as well. ]

Joker, Queen? Can you hear me? Mona, Panther, anyone, come in??

What's the Citadel?

[That event wasn't so long ago, so Kay's guessing she's new.]

About a week ago, we were in some space station called the Citadel. Has anyone told you where you are?

[promiselist]

The popular theory seems to be Wonderland, kidnapped by the Queen of Hearts!

...Which is not actually as fun as it sounds.

[tattooedredheads]

Dunno, we get events every couple of weeks to spice things up. [He continues lightheartedly.] We can also get complimentary memories of events we've never lived for no additional charge.

[promiselist]

How generous. What's an event? Is that like a festival or something?

[tattooedredheads]

It could be. An event is just something random that occasionally happens. We might have to dress up in costumes and ask the doors for candy, or the mansion could became a magic castle, or it might just fill up with water and force us to swim from room to room.

[promiselist]

...... Why?

[tattooedredheads]

Wonderland uses our memories for the events. Anything in our memories can be transformed into an event. They tend to last a few days and then go away. We don't know why it does that but my guess is that Wonderland has a few glitches.

[promiselist]

I think this entire place is a glitch.

[ And she sounds really annoyed about it. ]

So it turns our memories into something everyone is stuck experiencing for a few days? Ugh, that's gotta suck if they're not great memories.

[tattooedredheads]

Yep. Feels like longer when time travel's involved, though. [So far that's only happened once, though.] Some are dangerous, too. Got any experience fighting?

[He's asking partially because he still has a lightsaber he needs someone with experience using a sword to test out for him. Not that he's expecting much given how long it's taking him to find someone.]

[promiselist]

Some. [ She hedges that answer carefully. ] Technically my team handles most of that. I'm usually more of a support role.

That'll be useful when a future event tosses monsters at us. We've got training rooms on the first floor if ya want to use them.
