Seems once again I've been dropped off here. I tried to look back using our device to see how far long I was gone - about a month, I think. Interesting really... I was gone for about five months in my perspective. Some of the most eventful of my life.

[Considering he's dead, again, that's saying something.]

A question, for anyone who deigns to answer me: is there something you want badly enough that you would risk everything for it? A common theory about risk taking is that the greater the reward, the greater the risk to achieve it. Usually it's just applied to stocks and bonds, but it's true for all things. Therefore if you choose to risk everything for a single thing... what you want must be worth more than everything you risk.

I know my answer already, and I suppose I wonder if there are people like me. It's trite to think I'm the "only one" but no one ever seems willing to own up to the benefits of ambition. Ambition isn't a bad thing, but being humble seems... pretty pathetic honestly.

[After all, what good is a piece that gets taken off the board?] In any case, I took you out of the timeline at a point prior to when Rip Hunter did so. I imagine you experienced the few months you were beside me, but they must have wiped your memories afterward.

Possible. Depends on whether I'm the chicken or the egg. [Meaning that at some point there must have been a version of him that hadn't been through all that yet, but what difference does it really make? Give or take a few months.]

Your "ghost"? [He raises his eyebrows momentarily, not sure at all what that means.] What, does he think you're haunting him?

Hallucination, technically. I guess.

[He's not sure what to make of it on the whole, but hallucination seems to be what they've all agreed it is.]

...Ok. [He rolls his eyes a little, giving an impolite shrug alongside it.] You and him didn't seem to be on good terms from what I saw. Guess he expected different.

[Not that Eobard cares personally - he got what he wanted one way or another.]

Can't satisfy everyone. [He's not about to discuss his partnership with Eobard of all people, he doubts either one of them would care much for that experience.]

So, who was working with us? Sounds like it wasn't just a merry twosome.

You probably don't know either of them. Malcolm Merlyn and Damien Darhk. The latter is the one who actually recommended recruiting you. He seemed to be aware that you were part of the Legends.

[Eobard isn't quite sure how that happened, nor did he ask. In the moment Damien thought getting him might be helpful to acquire the Spear of Destiny, and after having all the pieces stolen away he was desperate for any kind of new avenue to pursue.]

Maybe he googled it. [Probably a joke, but who knew these days? If he does recognise either of the two names, he doesn't let it show, he simply nods.]

So, you got the three of us together, but we still failed?

That's embarrassing. Glad I can't remember. Must suck to be you.

[He smiles at the insult, yet it's humorless.]

Actually, quite the contrary. We succeeded. We got everything we wanted and won. The three of you just decided you wanted more and tried to kill me.

Sounds just like me. I wouldn't team up with me, no idea why you speedsters keep doing it.

What more did we want?

Wasn't my idea. [Though he won't deny that Snart is a good part of the reason they got the Spear in the first place. He also won't say it aloud because he doesn't need to give Snart's ego more fuel.] I was going to destroy the object we had used to claim our victory. The three of you disagreed with me. As with most disagreements between people like us, it turns violent.

I'm guessing we weren't as happy with the victory as you? [It's not that easy to connect the dots when you're missing most of the details, but he supposes that makes the most sense given what he knows.]

I'd apologise, but I doubt I was sorry.

No, you were all pretty happy. I think you three just hate me. [A soft sigh.] Honestly, I know I can be challenging to work with, but it was so petty.

[It's starting to sound a lot like Eobard was the guy picked last in gym class, but also like he deserves to be picked last, so Leonard's not feeling all that much pity.]

That's quite a bit of pettiness, throwing out the ideal world, just to annoy you. I was right, really does suck to be you.

You get another shot or are you all out?

[gym was an outdated school subject and optional for people who are healthy in his time period :/ but yes he would have been picked last.]

I don't know what I am anymore. Maybe that's why I don't care what I say to you.
