How's everyone enjoying another day of this fine incursion?

I'm writing in regards to the Mirrors as if they're not already the hot topic issue around here, but don't worry, it's not another warning about a murder-happy lunatic on the loose. I'd like to ask for a favor. Or maybe more like a citizen's arrest? If you happen to see a blond man with a dead look in his eyes and a sun symbol stamped on his forehead, that would be mine. I've attached a handy picture for your reference.

Be a dear and kick him back to his side should you see him, all right? He probably won't run or do more than bore you to death, but if he's here that means I'm there, and my skills aren't much good on the other side of the glass.

I can destroy stuff. I'm sure you're shocked.

You don't have to brag, I can destroy stuff, too, you know. Mages like myself channel energy from the world of the Fade. I can't stop a building from falling on you, but unlike some here our abilities are only really limited by our knowledge. I do my best work healing and controlling the elements, mostly.

Well... in my world it has rules and systems like any science. I never had a chance to learn how to shapeshift, but if I had the right spells and time to practice, I think I'd make a fine tiger.

Just think, we could have matching stripes.

Ha. You wouldn't glow in the dark, though, so I'd still win the coolest stripes contest.

Everything's a science if you're looking to get good at it. I'm sure some would argue with me, but you don't just wake up one day a master. We've all set our bedsheets on fire at some point before we learned our ABCs.

I guess so. I never had a lot of trouble, but I also didn't really learn. My powers just kind of happened.

[After a short pause.]

That sounds kind of braggy. It wasn't supposed to be.

"Regrettable" was the word I was thinking of. These powers you keep mentioning come from the magatama, don't they?

You've been fairly vague yourself on the subject. What sort of abilities does it grant you?

I can heal. I can also make lightning and fire, but not in small amounts. And I can make the earth crack and light come up out of it.

[That latter is actually an attack, but he doesn't really know how to explain that other than to describe it.]

Light? That doesn't sound so bad.

No, when I describe it like that it doesn't. But it's called Gaea's Rage and it can kill people.

Okay, now we're getting to the bad part.

What sort of destructive order of magnitude are we talking about? These are these abilities have the power to end a world?

It depends on what you mean by "end a world." If you're talking about killing everything on it, then yeah, I could probably do that.

I remember you describing your world as an egg waiting to be reborn and you get to decide its form. It's hard not to think of it that way.

I hope you remember the puppies and us mortals fondly the next time you're in the mood for a little wanton destruction.

No need to worry. I'm pretty fond of puppies and other people.

And you're worried your Mirror might have these same powers without the soft spot to go along with them?

Yeah. That's exactly what I'm worried about.

Any concrete reason to suspect so?

No. None at all. I haven't heard anything about him.

Worrying about it doesn't really do anything helpful, but I can't not.

I won't pretend I don't know what that's like to an extent.

But let's say your Mirror is just as powerful as you, and just as hostile as the demons I've encountered back home. He wouldn't be the first super-powered being people here have defended against. My companion slew an immortal god once. Don't count those of us on this side of the glass out.

That's IF you have anything to worry about. Perhaps your Mirror is a normal, unremarkable human.
