For anyone who wants to talk about the most recent event and compare notes, we're meeting in the tea rooms on the second floor tomorrow at three pm.
There will be snacks. If you want anything more significant than what the tea rooms provide, then bring your own. [ I.e., if Mick wants alcohol, he needs to bring his own. ]
We'll be talking about what happened, why it might have happened, what went wrong, and how we can prevent similar mistakes in future events.
Hope to see you there.

How about next time, we leave all the babies whining about the cold at home?
[The only mistake he sees here.]

Much as you didn't have to go outside in the snow. Whiny baby.

I'm thinking an area where they can keep each other company while the rest of us don't keep them company...

Excellent strategy.
But yeah, as events come, this one was relatively harmless. I'm not looking forward to what we might be in for next.

[Instead of bringing alcohol, why not go to alcohol? Everyone to the bar for the very important meeting.] Bring snacks to the bar and we got ourselves one fun meeting.

[ And she saw your threadjacking, Mick. Oh, boy, did she.
When she talked to Sarah about the age of people in Wonderland, they had never considered maturity.
She doesn't miss that reference to Rip, either. And it can only refer to one Rip - it's not as if it's a common name. ]
I think I have a way to resolve the dislikes-cold situation, but it'll require some finessing. If you want, we can go to the bar after the meeting and talk it, and that way I can get your input without everyone else interfering?
video
[Mick started drinking at fifteen and clearly it's worked out great for him. Right?]
Are you just trying to stop me from going to the meeting by having us talk later? [He... He sees her point though so he's not going to gatecrash if she wants to prevent this castle argument.]
You wanna talk temperature in private?

( she may appear much more subdued than last time they spoke. elena hasn't been very social since what happened with the mirrors -- freya's mirror in particular -- but this transmission catches her attention. it's hard to figure out what to do to minimize damage done on events, but that's part of why having a meeting and having those discussions would be fruitful.
the substance is in the discussion. )
video.
[ Sharon studies the feed more closely for a moment, her head slowly tilting to one side. Elena isn't as... peppy or present as she usually is. ] You okay?
video.
( elena likes the informality of it most of all, she thinks. with wonderland being as unstable and unpredictable as it is, it would be impossible to keep track of everyone on board. they may not be able to stop events from happening, but if there's even the slightest chance they might be able to minimize the damage they leave behind, why not?
her smile wanes. )
Yeah, I'm okay. It's been a long couple of months, but that's true for everyone, huh?

As far as preparing for events in the future, I plan to talk about the importance of NOT going out into a snow storm. We were all in an isolated space with an in-place buddy system. No one should have felt the need to go out there. And I GUARANTEE you that some dumbass did and got frozen to death for it.

[A beat.]
...Or neither?

I know we can't prevent the events themselves, and I know we can only prepare so much.
But since money is worthless here, how much do you want to bet that someone decided to traipse out into the snowstorm? We need to talk about how, in the future, that's an unnecessary idea. And oh, yeah, how about that buddy system we were handed since we were forced to room with people?
I want to review this event so we can better anticipate things in the future. Accounting for people we know so we know whether or not they're in danger before we risk our lives, for instance.

[Evelyn is a mite tetchy about this subject, given her very recent and very vividly gruesome demise mid-event. The circumstances, by many accounts, had been no different. No one could have foreseen what would happen, and monitoring each individual feels tantamount to authoritarianism.]
If you're proposing an expedient means of requiring each person to "check in" somewhere, with someone, to ensure their well-being I do agree that the cause is noble, but the enforcement thereof nigh impossible.

What's the 'what went wrong' part?
[ Sarah's confused. ]

This isn't the best event to start doing this, but I figured we might as well start trying to make a habit of this now.

Out of curiosity - can you shrink other people? Say, small enough to be trapped in a tupperware container, or under a teacup?
Just for an hour or two...
Just curious.

The blizzard just happened fast. Up to that point, people were fine going outside, and I went out to find her. I had to. ( Cause otherwise people might have had a zombie apocalypse happening on their hands. )

I can't fault anyone for trying to save someone else.
Want to stop by tomorrow and see if we can come up with a plan to do it more safely in the future? I don't want anyone dying during events if it can be helped, and the people statistically most likely to die are the ones who put themselves in dangerous situations to save others. The least we can do is work out how to not get killed when we try to help others.

Aren't you a little tired of tea and hot chocolate?
[ it's said with a little grin. a reference to many hours spent holding those mugs in their warm little room. ]
video »
She grins back. ]
There's no such thing as too much hot chocolate. And if I start getting tired of it, I can always add a little something extra to liven things up.
Congratulations on surviving your first Wonderland event, by the way. We should celebrate. With beers.
[ She's already impressed on Leia the importance of giving the burgers at the Rabbit Hole Diner a try, but the (free) bar is definitely worth a try, too. ]
