[Ianto's always been pretty clever and pretty good at problem solving, so it doesn't take him very long to figure out how to get to the network and post a video. Once he gets there, though, he doesn't know what to say. What do you say when you're pretty sure that you should be dead and all of a sudden you find yourself in some bloody great mansion that you've never seen before in your life and you have no idea where you are or what you're doing there or how Jack and Gwen are doing back home. The only thing that Ianto's sure of is that he's dead, and so wherever he is, home is at least somewhere he can't be returning to.]
Right. [He clears his throat.] Look, I. Can anyone tell me where this is? It's just that there are some places that you expect to end up, yeah? Everything that Suzie said, that Owen and Jack said, about the Darkness, I thought. [He stops himself. He doesn't want to make assumptions. Maybe this isn't the afterlife, maybe this is... Who is he kidding, he's so out of his element and turned on his head he doesn't know what to think. He shakes his head.]
Doesn't matter. Point is, this isn't where I'm supposed to be. I was. [Dead. Dying.] I. This isn't where I expected to wake up. [He runs a hand through his hair, frustrated and well. A bit frightened at the same time.] I know that it sounds a bit mad. I feel a bit mad asking, but. [Top Secret Organization and all, and he's using it as a relative safe word.] I don't suppose anyone here has heard of Torchwood?

Once again, she knows that it's wrong for her to want familiar faces here, but it's not as if she decides that either way. If Wonderland is going to bring them in, then she may as well be happy to see them.
Though that feeling fades almost instantly when she notices how distraught Ianto looks. Why is he talking about what Owen had told them about what comes after death, as if that's where he expected to end up? No, that... it can't be.
Martha's looking more than a little concerned as she replies to his message, her brow knit with worry.]
Ianto... there's a few of us here, Jack and Owen and some others, but... [There's no easy way to ask this, and Martha feels dread swirling in her stomach as she forces the words out.] What happened to you?
video; locked
The 456, they. There was an alien. At Thames House. Speaking through the children. We thought about reaching you but Jack didn't want to call you when you were on your... [He trails off, suddenly realizing that if this is a pocket dimension like Owen implied, then. Well, Martha could be from a different time. And he doesn't want to create some kind of massive fracture in time or something if he spoils her to her own future. They did cover these things in training for Torchwood London, however briefly.]

And it's horrible, but if what she's thinking is true, then she can't help but wonder about Jack. Owen and Tosh, that had been bad enough, but what if he ends up losing Ianto too? How would he ever bear anything like that? Martha ignores the stinging in her eyes and the lump in her throat, pushing past it.]
You should have called me. If something that serious was going on, you should have called me.
video; locked forever unless otherwise noted!
[Ianto shakes his head.] We couldn't. Not after... [Not after they lost the Hub.] They would have tracked the calls. They were tracking us down. They would have connected you to us, you would have been in danger too. Martha...
[He recognizes that look on her face and he knows that she knows what happened to him, even if he hasn't spelled it out for her. He wants to tell her. He wants to tell somebody. Somebody that will listen. Somebody that will care. But.] I don't know. I don't know that I can say. I don't know if I won't... I don't know, split apart the universe, put a whole in time and space, if I tell you what happens in the future. [He swallows hard.] But I... [He's obviously fighting with the desire to tell her and the logic that he needs to make sure that he can first.]

It's difficult to know how to take it all in when she doesn't have all the details, but Martha works for UNIT to deal with alien threats, so she can't imagine what she would have been doing that she would have been unaware of all this. She clenches her hand around her mobile and then lets out a sigh, trying to calm herself. She needs to be there for Ianto right now.]
I don't think my timeline is vital enough that all that would happen, but I understand if you don't want to say too much. But you... you weren't expecting to wake up anywhere at all, were you? [Yes, she already knows. With the way he's been behaving, it's rather clear.]

[He's too worked up right now to have to keep beating around the bush, and so he's glad for it when Martha takes the decision of whether to tell her or not out of his hands. He can't help the almost sob that he makes, and he doesn't know whether it's in relief or grief or what, but. He shakes his head and when he speaks, his voice is rough with emotion and unshed tears.] ...no.
no subject
Jack. She's going to need to find Jack, and soon, if possible.]
I'm so sorry.
no subject
[Ianto shakes his head, bringing a hand up to run across his face and brush away any tears that are threatening to spill.] S'alright. [His voice is low, heavy with emotion.] It's not like it was all that unexpected. No one from Torchwood ever does live to draw their pension. [Ianto may or may not be putting on a brave face for her right now. Yes, he never expected to live all that long. But he had hoped... Especially for Jack. But none of that mattered anymore. Not since everything had gone to shit.]
no subject
That doesn't make it any easier to bear. I... suppose you can see this place as a second chance, for what that's worth. You should find the others.
no subject
...you said that Jack was here?
no subject
[Martha's well aware of the special connection that Jack and Ianto have, though, and so she isn't surprised to see that Jack's his priority. She hasn't seen Jack for the past few days, but that's not necessarily out of the ordinary in this place. It's probably easiest to just give Ianto his room number.]
He's on the sixth floor, room 27. [It is a little shocking that Jack hasn't contacted Ianto already, but maybe he hasn't been checking his mobile.]
no subject
[Ianto memorizes that room number. He's going to look for Jack, if Jack doesn't find him first. He hasn't heard from him - that much should be clear, even in this conversation with Martha. He nods, minutely, still trying to take it all in. Still wondering why Jack isn't responding, if he really is here. When is he from? How much does he remember? He has to shake himself out of those thoughts and continue.] Owen's on his way to find me. I. Haven't heard anything from Jack.
no subject
Torchwood politics, she tells herself. She shouldn't butt in too much, but it's hard not to when she knows them all and when Jack is such a dear friend.] That's odd. [There's no denying that Jack should have spoken up by now.] Let me know if you can't find him, we can always go searching together.
no subject
We can get together, even if we're not searching for Jack, yeah? It'd be good to see you... [Ianto's not usually one for all that much social interaction, but she's a familiar face and he's feeling rather clingy. Considering the whole dying a few hours ago thing and all.]
no subject
Still, Ianto's definitely a friend by her estimation, and he's probably in need of a kinder approach as compared to whatever he'll get from Owen.] Of course! Let me know when you're finished with Owen and I'll come find you.
no subject
Of course. [He even offers her the smallest of smiles here. And a sincere one at that.]
feel free to time skip to later and have him call/text her!
She nods and ends the feed, keeping her mobile on hand in case he contacts her later in the day.]
yes yes yes i will do this!
...still no word from Jack. [And with Owen gone, he's left to himself. It's a dangerous place to be, alone with his thoughts. He could use some company.]
no subject
But really, where has Jack gone? Did he honestly disappear from this place right as Ianto arrived? Martha can hardly stomach that. It's not fair.]
I'm sorry, Ianto. I haven't seen him either.
no subject
I think I might be ready to take you up on that offer now. Owen's left for the moment, I don't know whether he said he was working or just out, but he's gone, and. ['I don't want to be alone.'] I could use the company.
If. You're not busy, that is. I wouldn't want to impose.
no subject
Not busy at all, Ianto. I'd be happy to come by. Where are you now?
[If Owen's of any use at all, then he helped Ianto find a room for himself. If not, then Martha can do that herself, but she waits for his response first.]
i'm sorry that this is so late, forgive me :(
I, ehm. Could meet you somewhere else if you'd prefer. Although he did give me the permission to be here, I doubt he'd mind if I let you over for a little while either.
[[ooc: wow i'm sorry, school got the better of me for the last month, i didn't mean for it to be this long before i could get back to this ;; if you'd rather drop this that's alright, but i'd love to start something new if so]]
no subject
I'll see you soon! [And then she ends the feed.]
[ooc: I'm thinking maybe we can end this here with some handwaving that they talked, and continue on with the other thread we have?]
