[ 011 | Closed Audio & Resistance Notebook ]
[AUDIO, locked to James Potter, Daryl Dixon, Sam Winchester, John Blake, Castiel, Philip, and Evelyn O'Connell:]
I've been meaning to get in touch with all of you for awhile, but the timing hasn't been right. Between events and being yanked home, other people bouncing back and forth-- it's been hectic, but that's no excuse.
The resistance. I'm sure we've all been thinking about it since the last version of Dean up and vanished.
[To some extent, anyway. And it's not even that she doesn't like the new Dean -- but aside from Sam and Castiel, he doesn't know any of them. He's not the one they all looked to as their leader.]
We need to reorganize. We have everything we need. The people, the tools, the home base. We have a structure to build on, but we've all been adrift and out of touch since we lost the guy we decided was our leader. We can't put all of our eggs in one basket again, but we do need leaders. Dean trusted us. All of us. I figure this is the best place to start. If one person leaves, or two, or however many-- the others will still be there to keep things running. Keep people safe and eventually get them out.
I need to know if you're all still interested. All that hard work we did before... we can't let it be for nothing. Not when we know what's coming.
[Resistance Notebook:]

[Resistance Notebook:]
To any and all remaining resistance members: we need to get back on task. Meeting this coming Sunday at Fort Dixon-Potter, 9:00 PM. If you have friends here that you trust? Bring them. We need people, and we're not aiming to be some top-secret club. Most of us want the same thing. If Christmas taught us anything, we can't sit on our hands. I know a hell of a lot of you have been working separately to try and make sure we don't see that future, but we should all be working together, organize ourselves. We'll be stronger that way.- Emma

...Though it turns out that the serious things he has to say are probably even worse than any awkward post-pig talk he could stammer up. ]
Erm, in all fairness, I'm not sure it was trust with me an Dean, exactly, probably- probably more like me bribing him with a bar and the keys to a bar, but-- [ He huffs a mirthless laugh. ] He wasn't the first Dean here either, you know...
[ Philip hears himself trailing off. Back to the point, come on. ]
Anyway. Look-- Look, what I'm trying to say is, um... I'll help you out. I'll give you everything I've got on the last four years here, but-- [ He clears his throat. ] I'm not exactly invested in finding the door out of here.
audio;
So serious business it is.]
Yeah, I know. You had a history with the version that came before, right?
[Dean had mentioned it.]
I'm glad. That's exactly why I wanted you in on this. You've been here longer than anyone I can think of. We need veterans, people who know the place. Drawback of being grandfathered in is that people are going to look to you for answers.
[She pauses, pressing her lips together unseen.]
It's okay. You're not the only one who wants to stay. Think of it as an investment in helping people survive the place, not just escape.
audio;
I can't promise that I've got them, somehow the only thing that's changed over the years is that I've stopped being surprised at all the answers I don't have. [ A mirthless huff. ] But I'll try, at least- I can tell you that I'll try.
[ With all the more conviction, now that his own position is out in the open. Unquestioned at that. Philip breathes a small sigh of relief. It always felt like a bigger burden to carry, somehow. As if wanting to stay couldn't possibly be a viable answers.
...And speaking of answers, there's one he still owes: ]
--Erm, and, right, about Dean. We-- I... used to know him better. [ To throw that understatement out there, at least. ] Better than the last one, I didn't-- I didn't, erm, get a chance to talk to Episode Three yet.
[ Which is very easy to say, when you're actively avoiding to make that chance happen. ]
...Does he know what he started, anyway?

There's no denying that they all lost sight of what they were doing without Dean there to guide them, but that's no excuse.]
I think spreading out the leadership between multiple people is a good idea. There should always be someone prepared to pick up the pieces.
[Castiel's tone holds firm. He's speaking as a strategist now.] Dean assigned me to be head of the strategic team, but place me wherever I can be of most use.
[audio]
Glad you think so. It's too much to put on one person's shoulders. We'll all benefit from a stronger foundation.
[She winces. God, she's starting to sound like her parents.]
If that's your strength, I see no reason to change it. We need a good strategist.
[audio]
I used to lead armies in Heaven. I think that would make me equipped for the job.
[Not that he's used to fashioning orders for humans, but he'll improvise.]

A lot of people have had good ideas about the jabberwocky, but if we can consolidate all of that, then all the better.

[It's true that things have been difficult lately between events and people leaving... But Emma's right. They can't just sit with their thumbs up their collective asses and wait for this Jabberwocky to come and tear it all down.]

Evelyn had almost thought the resistance thoroughly defunct.]
Please count me in,
[comes the firm reply.]
I've a lot of data and a lot of experience here, but as of yet I'm unsure of how it will all...help.
audio;
[They're friends, aren't they? And Evelyn has been here longer than most people. She's smart. Dependable. An asset in more ways than Emma probably realizes, to be honest.]
Every little bit of it will help somehow. We just have to figure out how to use what we have.

[For a few minutes, she deliberates just answering him in the notebook, but it doesn't feel right, considering everyone in the resistance can see it. After a moment, she calls him directly, pressing her lips together as she waits for him to pick up.]
Tom? Emma. I think you should hold onto it.
