[It takes Teddy until he reaches the end of the corridor before he realizes that he isn’t in Kansas any longer.

Ok, he was never in Kansas to begin with. Where he had been was just outside of Lateveria, thinking up all of the ways he was going to kick his boyfriend’s stupid ass the moment he got his hands on him. Teddy was used to Billy being impulsive, rushing head long into danger especially when he was certain it would ‘protect’ the people he cared about but that note…. that fucking note…

It was still in his hands, crumpled in his fists. He’d never been so angry before in his life. It was such a complex emotion. How could he want to throttle someone he would die for? Well, now he knew and he really didn’t appreciate Billy putting him in this situation.

His thoughts were running away with him and he stopped inches from a stairwell when it suddenly dawned on him that he was some place different. The place just didn’t look right which probably meant that Billy, in his stupid wisdom, must have left some sort of portal open when he teleported.

Well, that made following him so much easier.

Teddy reached into his pocket looking for his phone. He needed to text the rest of the team. If they woke up to both of them missing there was sure to be a full on assault of Dr. Doom’s Lair and that was precisely what they were trying to avoid. The black device Teddy pulls out isn’t anything like his phone. When did he get a new one? It didn’t matter, he was still too pissed to really contemplate the weirdness. He punched in the number for the team and decided to leave a video message. It would reach them faster and maybe if they saw his face it would show them how serious the situation had become.

The red light on the phone blinked and Teddy cleared his throat, controlling his temper for the moment.]

So, Billy’s gone. He left me some note. I can’t say I’m really surprised. He must have left some sort of portal open because I’m someplace else. Be careful following us. We don’t want to tip of Dr. Doom.

And when I find my idiot boyfriend, I’m going to kick his stupid ass so don’t worry.

I think he's here actually. I saw him a couple of days ago.

[Teddy peers down and smiles, considerably less green than in his first video.]

He found me, actually. I guess he wasn't as lost as I thought. Long story but I'm glad to see he's making friends. I'm Teddy.

[Okay, he looks a little different now. Still the same voice at least.]

That's good! I'm glad he found you. I'm Sam. Nice to meet you. I arrived here not long ago myself.

I still don't know what to make of it. Either we're in a book or Wonderland is a real place. Which sounds more strange to you because I can't decide.

Uh... I've been trying not to think about it actually and just focusing on enjoying the holiday.

[Teddy looks a bit confused.]

What holiday is that? Did I show up around some big event?

No, no, I mean... a holiday from home.

[He still doesn't quite follow. Why would anyone be glad to be away from home? Surprise vacation doesn't really strike him when he looks around the corridor. But, maybe, to someone in a bad situation, this could seem like a welcomed trip.]

I guess it isn't all that bad here. Not as though I'm being attacked which is a welcomed change.

Yeah, that really does make a nice change. Also there's plenty to eat and hot showers whenever you want them.

Right. There's that, too. I guess if we're imprisoned here it's better than, say, a dungeon.

[Teddy wants to ask where Sam came from if food and a hot shower were such luxuries but he refrains. There are some questions that are a bit rude when you first meet someone.]

Still, being magically whisked away and dropped her is a bit of a shock. I would have liked a warning.

Everyone keeps giving dire warnings about the place but I haven't seen anything terrible yet.

[Not that he wasn't preparing. He had already amassed several months worth of tinned food amongst other things.]

I guess weird magical houses don't like to ask for permission.

Most people or places neglect to give you a heads up when they decide to kidnap you.

[Is that what Teddy is thinking happened? What other explanation is there except someone somewhere has a need for people that are similar, although in what way Teddy has yet to discover.]

If nothing terrible happens let's not wish it here faster. I'd like the break from fighting.

Yeah, I guess that's true. There's just a real lack of consideration among people who do that. I might have been in the middle of something important.

Me too. A nice relaxing few days would suit me fine.

[Teddy was worried about his teammates he'd left behind. What were they going to do when they discovered that not only Billy was gone but Teddy as well? Shit, this was a nightmare.]

I'll take a relaxing day but I'd rather be back home, all things considered. I've things to do.

...yeah. Me too. Lots of stuff I should doing.

[Oh god, Five. What was going to happen to Five?]

[Teddy can see the worry cross Sam's face and he feels a bit responsible for bringing up bad memories.]

Hey, I'm sure we'll get back soon. In the meantime, I guess we'll just have to make the best of being here, even if it is Wonderland and, as they say, everyone is mad here.

[Sam grins at that.]

Oh well, that is something I'm used to.

[Teddy finds himself grinning back at Sam. He had an infectious smile.]

Yeah, madness isn't a stranger where I'm from it's just a different sort of mad, more super villain and less White Rabbit, Drink Me sort of crazy.

Y'know, at one point I would have said super villains were just in comic books and movies, but these days... well, more real than I thought.

I can honestly say that super heroes in the comics make it look easy. The reality of it is, well, a bit less glamorous.

Yeah, I know what you mean. All the zombie movies never really got into what happens if you survive and have to live with the undead daily.

I wouldn't like that. Zombie movies aren't my favorite anyway. I'm more partial to the campy, silly, Sharknado type of film than any survival horror. It's too... realistic.

Oh, those sound great. We sometimes have a movie night. And yeah. Who wants to see more blood and death when that's your daily life.

Exactly. No more blood and death unless there's something ridiculous about it.

You have movie nights? My boyfriend and I have them all the time. I... wonder if you can watch movies here?

Agreed. Bring on the terrible CGI sharks.

Yeah, when we can spare the electricity. I dunno but... the closets seem able to provide a lot of stuff so maybe they'd pull out a laptop.
