[Souji spent the first day of the event scouring the inn and the surrounding area to see to what extent Wonderland had tried to recreate it. Right down to the seals over some of the doors, the inn itself is almost perfect. Almost.

There's no better word than "moping" for what he spent the rest of yesterday doing, but now it's the second day and he feels up to addressing the network. And after a day of watching James and Sirius completely flounder at things like wearing a ~~yukata~~ robe properly and using chopsticks and sleeping on a futon, he thinks he probably needs to. Everyone is being subjected to his memory and he can at least offer some...cultural assistance to those who might want it.]

This is my event. [Gotta start somewhere.] This is the Amagi Inn and the town down the hill is Inaba. It's too bad you can't get to it--it's nice there.

[For Souji, this is rambling, so he gets back on track.]

I know most people in Wonderland right now aren't Japanese. If you need someone to explain how to do things here, I don't mind answering questions.

...Though it doesn't really matter, I guess. [It's not like there's any penalty for stabbing your food with your chopsticks, even if it's kind of impolite.]

I don't think I've ever been to Japan. But this stuff is pretty cool. [Amethyst is wearing her purple striped yukata like a bathrobe and has opted, so far, to eat with her hands rather than make sense of chopsticks. Please help this mess of a girl.]

[He smiles, just a little.]

I'm glad you think so.

[He won't get into how he's not making the baths himself, because the inevitable outcome of that is that he'll end up eating something weird again. Somehow.]

Are you doing okay with everything?

[Not so much with the yukata apparently, but hey, it's on her and that's a start.]

Yeah! I mean, I don't know how to use chopsticks but humans have got on fine with no eating utensils for hundreds of years. Everything is potentially a finger food! But the baths are fun and I usually sleep on the floor anyway, so I'm having a great time! [Not that she even needs to eat or sleep anyway, but she stubbornly refuses to go without if she doesn't have to.]

I can show you how to use chopsticks. Some things might be easier with them.

[Not soup, but other things.]

I know how to make them easier to use.

Okay! Show me chopsticks. [She sits attentively, ready to learn. Oh, wait, she should probably actually get chopsticks.] Wait, hang on. [She leaves for a minute and comes back with a pair of chopsticks, one in each hand.] Okay, show me chopsticks.

[While she was getting a pair, so was he. When she's back he holds them up in his hand.]

Put one here, like this. [He shows her.] Then hold the other one with your thumb and finger like this. [And he shows her that too.] Then, you just move the top one and you hold the bottom one steady.

[He waits for her to try. He is sure this is not going to work at all.]

Okay... Put one here. [She sticks one stick in between her thumb and forefinger.] Then hold the other one... Huh? [She sticks the second chopstick in at an angle.] Then you move the top one... and hold the bottom... Ugh! [When she tries to move them they just snap out of her hand and fall to the floor.] Ugh, nevermind! I hate chopsticks!

There's a trick you can use that will make it easy. You need a rubber band and the paper wrapper the chopsticks came in.

[She narrows her eyes suspiciously at Souji.] Okay... [She disappears again, this time to find a rubber band. She comes back with it and the paper wrapper he mentioned.] What'cha got for me this time, smart guy?

Roll up the paper wrapper so it's about as thick as a pencil. [He shows her how, then puts it between the thicker ends of the chopsticks.] Put it in like this, then take the rubber band and wrap it around so that it holds the paper in place.

[He starts to do that as he talks.] It's a little hard to keep the paper in place while you put the rubber band on, so don't try to go too fast.

[He holds up the finished baby chopsticks, then tucks the pair into his hand like he showed her before.] This way, they stay together when you try to use them, so you can get used to holding them.

[She follows his instructions, dropping the paper a couple of times but on the third try she gets it. She inspects the modified chopsticks, squeezing the sticks together a few times.] ...Aw yeah. Can't wait to try these babies out.

[She disappears from the screen again for a few moments, then comes back with a beef bowl. She got too impatient and started eating already, still struggling a little with the chopsticks but she's not giving up and just using her hands so it's a start.] Yeah! [Said with her mouth full.] I'm the cho'shtick mashter now!

[Wow gross Amethyst.]

Good work.

[He wonders if he should try to help her with the yukata, but decides that might be a bridge too far. Besides, he can't remember what they're called and that would make explaining how to wear one properly weird.]

It's the way kids learn to use them, too. [Except that they usually get chopsticks that are made that way, but EH.]

[She actually swallows her food first before talking this time.] Yeah, I'm like a kid. A kid who is master of all she surveys. First chopsticks, then the world!

That's a pretty big jump. What will you master in between?

Hm... I'm already pretty good at most stuff. Chopsticks were the only thing holding me back.

What about origami? Can you make a crane?

Uh...

...

[Suddenly, a white light interrupts the screen, just a flash, and when it's gone all that's left is a giant purple origami crane.]

....Can you make a crane out of paper by hand?

[Because that is cheating, if he's right that she just turned herself into an origami crane.]

[The "beak" of the crane wiggles as it speaks.] I made it, didn't I? That's all that matters!

Unless you want your wish to come true. Then you need 1,000 of them.

What wish? I don't need a wish! Who cares!

To rule the world?

[He didn't think she was serious about that, but he's running with it.]

I can do that without having to make a wish! I'll rule this world, you'll see! You'll all see!

Well, if you can turn into a paper crane, you can probably turn into something that can rule the world.

Like...

A giant hammer.

--Ooh, yeah! [The paper crane suddenly transforms into a giant hammer.] It's hammer time! Hahaha, defy me and be crushed by my mighty self!
