[video] & [action]
[Lucifer is sitting at the bench of a shiny black piano, his fingers gently pressing the keys in a smooth melody with talented fingers as he starts to speak. It's unclear how he's being filmed without actually holding the device himself, but I'm sure it's probably just someone holding it for him.
Or not.]
Hello again, denizens of Wonderland. I made a promise to you all, and as you can see, I'm following through on it.
[Around him is a very lavish, large, and chic room, though it's clear that the piano he's at is in the middle of the room and slightly lower than most of the couches and tables, with the bar at the far end. There's also a stage microphone set up beside him, though he's not using it at the moment.]
Say hello to Deux Lux. Anyone with the ability to have fun is welcome and expected. Sixth floor, room sixty-six. It's a bit smaller than the original, I'm afraid, but it will do for now.
[He grins.]
Feel free to help yourself behind the bar when you arrive. If I think you have some skill when it comes to pouring cocktails, perhaps I'll offer you a job. Until those positions are filled, however, I'm afraid I can't do everything all by myself. I'm the Devil, not a miracle worker.
----------------------------
[ooc: Feel free to answer Lucifer over the network or come hang out at the club. THIS CAN BE A PARTY POST. Feel free to tag around as much as you want! I'll have my own starter for Lucifer inside and will tag around as well. Have fun <3]

"Deux Lux"?
[First impressions don't lie: apparently someone has a thing for showy names and showy mood lighting and showy... everything, as appears to be the case.
Anders hadn't forgotten Lucifer's promise to bring an extra dose of debauchery to Wonderland and he peers at what's visible of Lucifer's club with a smile, properly intrigued. For a devil, he's come through. And he plays a lovely bit of piano. Must be part of the fallen angel skill set.]
Nice, very nice. How did the search for female employees go?
OTA;
[They don't get many modern clubs in medievalist Ferelden (can't imagine why), and so when Anders shows up to check out the new club in person, it's with the guarantee of sticking out like a tall, robe-wearing sore thumb. Wardrobe consultants, like Lucifer's burlesque dancers, don't just grow on trees around here.
Still, he's not dissuaded. If the ability to have fun is all that's required of guests, he's got that in spades.
He'll most certainly be taking advantage of the open bar--a new establishment is the perfect time to try new drinks, right?--and enjoying the comfortable padded lounge seats. If Lucifer had been a garden variety demon enticing the unsuspecting into his lair, Anders might have had reservations--dying under these bright purple spotlights would be awfully unflattering--but you know what? The Devil's not a half bad host.]
OTA!
I'm probably not the quality bartender The Devil's looking for, but I could make something passable for you if you wanted. What'll it be?
no subject
[Like a magpie, all the lights and shiny surfaces draw Anders' attention from one side of the room to the other, but he smiles once he realizes the person getting down to business behind the bar is one he knows. He rests his hands on the counter, taking in the gleaning new glassware and alcohol like it's his first time seeing them--which it is, at least in the context of a club.
If Ferelden doesn't have establishments like this, they should get some.]
Don't mind if I do! I know what I'd order in my country, but I'm used to more "sawdust and ale tankards" sort of establishments. What kinds of drinks does a place like this normally serve?
no subject
[ She might have done some bartending in college and knows her way well enough around a bar. ]
no subject
Oh, I'm sure they'll be coming up to you all night for other reasons.
[Sarah is an attractive woman, and charming to boot--she'll attract company wherever she goes. Most everyone here is dressed to kill, for that matter; it's no wonder Lucifer had shot down the bar in favor of a club. It has interesting character.]
Hm, let's go with option two. Anything that doesn't taste like warm dog piss is an improvement on some of the places I've been. What are you having?
no subject
[ She smirks a little (doesn't really think it's likely to happen), and starts working on making them both drinks. ]
I'm working on a martini which is gin. Well, I make mine mostly gin. There's also vermouth. You can try it with less of the vermouth and let me know if you like it or hate it that way.
[ Once she's done shaking away, she pours him the drink and puts an olive on a toothpick, sliding it over. ]
no subject
[And... he might also enjoy complimenting the opposite sex when he can. All the better when the recipient doesn't make a face like she's smelled rotten meat as Velanna had.]
Gin. Is that the stuff made out of berries? I've been trying to expand my alcoholic horizons. [He folds his arms and leans on them, watching her shake the cocktail shaker the way a determined child shakes a Satinalia gift the night before.] It doesn't look like there's much to it, but if I've learned anything about your Earth drinks, it's that smaller amounts pack a punch
[And he's right about that. Once he picks up the glass and takes an exploratory sip, the sharp taste hits him immediately.]
Are you sure the Devil hasn't hired you yet? Because I think you'd make an excellent drink maker. It's good.
no subject
[ Sarah rolls her eyes a little, but it's mostly because the compliments keep coming and she's totally not sure what to do with them. ]
Hey, the Devil has top shelf liquor, I had nothing to do with it. But thank you.
[ She comes around to join him with her own drink, not wanting to get stuck making drinks for others. ]
So, what brought you out tonight? Curiosity?
no subject
That's a good way of putting it. It's still an interesting flavor. I'm accustomed to drinking whatever comes out of a cask in whatever state it was in in the cask, for better or worse. This is glamorous in comparison.
[Anders is tall enough that all he has to do to slide onto a bar stole is basically lean over, and he invites her to do the same with a smile and a gesture at the one next to him.]
You got it in one. Apparently the Devil is a big-name figure? I thought I'd see if he's putting his design sense where his mouth is. So far I'm intrigued, I have to admit.

video;
[He's such a dick. Not everyone here knows French, Lucifer.]
About as well as everyone warned me it might be. Fortunately, I'm very good at going with the flow as they say. Now everyone gets yours truly as entertainment instead. It's honestly an upgrade, in my personal opinion.
no subject
Oh, sure, discriminate against us other-worlders. It's not our fault we're the bastard step-brother with a different father.
[Not getting to experience the burlesque experience? Kind of a disappointment after Lucifer had talked it up. That said, Anders can't resist a chuckle. He's not surprised to hear he'd been shot down and forced to improvise.]
So we should expect to see you doing a little dance number?
[Please say yes.]
no subject
[He might get dancers yet. Time will have to tell. He doesn't give up on anything.]
If I'm dancing then who will provide the music? Besides, in my experience, all genders seem to be more enamored with the female species when it comes to...exotic dancing.
no subject
I think being an omnipotent being might give you a bit of an unfair advantage on the rest of us humble mortals.
[Said omnipotent isn't even going to take the stage on his own opening night? Come on, where's the fun in that? Anders would consider volunteering another round of Anders' Spicy Shimmy if it wasn't likely to traumatize the audience.]
Aren't there machines or a choir of angels for that? [A blithe shrug precedes his next comment.] Eh, beggars can't be choosers, I always say. You can't really go wrong with exotic dancing. Don't sell yourself short, I'm sure you're plenty enamoring just the way you are.
no subject
[He nods his shoulders in assent.]
Yes, well, someone has to run those machines, and as of the present moment, I am the only employee. Thus, you see the difficulty I find myself in. [His expression changes to one that's obviously pleased at those last statements, though.] You think so, do you? I happen to agree. Perhaps someday I'll put on a bit of a show, one that's decidedly less 'family-friendly.'
no subject
[Both are pretty incredible, try as Anders might not to let Wonderland's menagerie of creatures big and small stop him from carrying on normal enough conversations.]
Well, I don't know about that. Mortality is pretty humbling.
[Squishy, stabbable organs. Very humbling indeed.]
You can't just snap your fingers and make it happen? Ah well, never mind that, I can push the 'play' button on a music device if you're in dire need of someone with hand-eye coordination. [Lucifer's humbling self-confidence earns a smirk.] This I've got to see! I look forward to the day.
no subject
[He clearly doesn't mind.][But his world is FAR different than Anders']
Maybe I can, maybe I can't. I much prefer leaving such tedious actions to others while I spend my time with things I find more interesting.
no subject
[Lucifer's doing a good job of it all by himself. If anything, Anders is just being a helpful by-stander and helping him split a little of the load.]
Coy with the angel powers, eh? I'm sure we can make do the old-fashioned way. Count me in for an appearance. I'm curious to see what your club is all about.

action
[ fortunately for katherine, and perhaps for anders, when she finds herself bored, he's right in her line of sight. sitting on one of the lounged seats, she decides to saunter over toward him, and once she's standing in front of him, she looks down at him with a flirtatious smile. ]
Is this seat taken?
no subject
Interesting. Whatever's in it is heady, and it settles into a pleasant thrum under his skin along with the music.
Mingling is sure to happen later (having a drink or two in his system makes the process of cruising around the room with the self-assurance that everybody wants to be his friend even when they don't run smoother), but for now Anders is stretched out at ease, not making a show of looking for company just yet.
Company finds him, as it so happens. And in the form of... well, hello.]
Only by you, if you want it.
no subject
[ in fact, she's its damnation. ]
[ but she doesn't feel as much right now. she smiles at his acceptance, and laughs, lightly, it sounding much like bells. katerina had a light laugh, flirtatious and shy and even one that was innocent and as delicate as she had been. ]
[ she moves to take the seat beside him, and cares very little if her leg ends up touching his at all. sitting straight, she's ever the lady — and she leans on the arm rest of it, elbow digging into the fabric, with a smile still spread across her lips. ]
Where have you been hiding? I haven't seen you around.
no subject
That kitten-wrangling schoolgirl vibe he remembers of Elena goes straight out the window when, instead of sliding in opposite like he's expecting, she sits right next to him--right next to him. O... kay. Now he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt it's not the drink giving him an "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" feeling.
Bemused, he covers his initial surprise behind a smile, turning enough to keep her in view.]
Really? Hiding in plain sight normally isn't my strong suit. [Normally, Anders would run with what he's given, but in this case has to ask.] You're in a good mood tonight.
[A very good mood, apparently. And it's aimed right at him in a killer watt smile.]
no subject
[ as girly and flirtatious and unaware as she comes off — the flirtatious and girly parts more easier for her to do, given katherine's actually enjoying herself for a few fleeting moments at this bar — she's not as ignorant as she may appear. she instantly suspects elena, and wonders if there'll ever come a time in wonderland she'll be able to be katherine without having to compete against someone's impression of the most angelic of them all elena gilbert. ]
[ it reminds her of mystic falls. it's a pity the people there couldn't live for a few good centuries, or else she'd be the one with the legacy elena finds herself growing agitated needing to live up to. (which would be impossible, of course; katherine knows no one can touch how her legacy has both enthralled and angered so many people she's come to cross.) ]
[ of course, sometimes katherine certainly loves to jump the gun. ]
no subject
That's an excellent question. Why wouldn't you be? There's Wonderland, of course. Wonderland being a drag is usually enough to leave most people in a foul mood. I suppose I'm wondering I did to deserve such a good mood.
[Not to denigrate himself or anything, he's not quite on the level of unwashed, mouth-breathing male company, but he wouldn't have chalked himself up as her type to touch legs with.]
no subject
[ semantics, really. it's better than some of the places she's wound up over the last few centuries. ]
[ there are times to play her own game, and sometimes, there isn't. she does it for herself, really. katherine's played coy, attempted to be charming, be as naturally persuasive as she knows herself to be. but she has a few tricks up her sleeve that can get her the information she wants without having to leap through so many hoops. ]
[ she watches anders, smile still in place, but wondering what it is he's speaking of. she supposes her first thoughts are true — and so she places a hand on his leg and tries to catch his eye. her gaze remains focused and unwavering, and she continues to smile, but her voice, though light, contains a firm quality to it that anders may find luring. ]
Who do you think I am?
[ why not compel the answers she presumes out of him so they can finally have some fun? ]
no subject
Elena--the girl he takes to be Elena--locks eyes with him and his thought immediately loses focus and begins to drift. Is it just him or is his drink hitting him harder? Though nothing overt happens, no sudden flares of light or bursts of power that singe his nerves, for some reason he can't explain her gaze seems heavier and darkly intense in a way it hadn't been a second ago.
He'd never really bought into that hackneyed line about falling into someone's eyes, but with hers it seems possible all of a sudden.]
The girl who adopted one of my cats.
[He doesn't think to hesitate. She's Elena. Who else would she be?]
