[The camera flickers on, revealing John sitting up from being sprawled on the ground, holding his head. He groans, hissing to himself. From the grass around him, it looks like he's on the front lawn of the mansion. When he finally peeks through his fingers, the doctor notices the camera--likely his phone. He reaches for it, looking slightly perplexed when he realizes it's recording video--technology was never really his strong suit. He glances around, and when it's obvious he sees nothing familiar, he holds up the camera properly, looking into it with confusion, but resolve.]

This is John Watson, speaking. I'm currently in an unknown area and any sort of information would be... wonderful, thank you.

[The hinting of his military background dissolves slightly at the end of his request, and he gnaws at his lower lip as he observes his surroundings once more. Running a hand through his cropped hair, he mutters to himself;]

Well, one thing's for sure, this certainly isn't London...

[He then snorts in a self deprecating manner.]

Of course it isn't, John. Obvious deduction.

[He's speaking as if mimicking someone else chiding him, but the line of his mouth and the expression in his eyes is fond, if a bit sad, as he looks off. After a moment he remembers he's still on video. Clearing his throat, he fumbles with the phone uselessly a couple of times until the transmission finally shuts off.]

[... Sherlock may have just made some rather enthusiastic sounds with equally juvenile gestures but surely it's a perfectly acceptable reaction to seeing this on his video feed. There is far too much happy. This is even better than a serial killing! It is Christmas, New Years and Fireworks Day all rolled into one.

Best to not... overload John all at once. Wonderland is improbable and impossible and enough to take in by itself. Sherlock flips to text, fingers anxious to type.]

[Well... that certainly wasn't what he was expecting when he felt his mobile buzz. John doesn't realize he's holding his breath in shock until his ears start to ring. He types back with shaking fingers, not really noticing he is following the command--like always, always charging where Sherlock tells him to run to--and making his way up over to the grand house. His heart is pounding violently as he reaches the steps...]

...Who is this? Is this some sort of a sick joke?

No joke. Theories vary but somehow you have been brought to this place called Wonderland for an undetermined amount of time in order to facilitate some unknown purpose or perhaps there is no purpose. Few concrete answers, really. The only thing known for certain is that Wonderland can be very dangerous. Hope you brought your revolver.

[John staggers momentarily on the steps, leaning his free hand on his knee and breathing through his nose. The text is so unbearably Sherlock that it hurts his heart. The next second, he's taking the steps two at a time, pushing open the double doors and stumbling into the entrance hall. The site overwhelms him momentarily and the doctor staggers in a small spin, taking in the vast arching skylights and marble before he's texting again. He's gnawing on his lower lip as he writes.]

Few concrete answers? Seems right up your alley. Are you going to make me run across town to get to you as usual or can ghosts just appear wherever they please?

Yes, my colleague was explaining it to me earlier, but I doubt it'll really sink in for a while. Magic isn't exactly something you hear in... my world... on a regular basis outside of fairy tales.

My name's Aang, and I'm not sure if anyone's told you about this place yet? It's called Wonderland, and it's really, really weird.

[The Sherlock Holmes' novella's don't exist in Aang's world, so Watson's appearance doesn't shock him like it does the others. He's more concerned about whether the man will catch cold in the bitter snow or not. Who knows how long he's been unconscious out there?]

Are you lost? It's really cold out there...you might want to come inside the mansion before you catch your death.

[The boy's energetic personality takes John aback, but he smiles after a moment. He's used to dealing with kids at the clinic, and from what he can tell, Aang isn't any different from them--even if the arrow tattoo throws him off a bit.]

Hello, Aang. Yes, my friend has been filling me in a bit about Wonderland... even if I'm still quite confused about most of it.

Don't worry, though, I'm out of the cold now, wouldn't do for a doctor to get sick, would it?
