[ When Chloe appears on the network, she's cast largely in shadow and looks a little wet. Every few seconds she shivers, pretending like she isn't scared, but not bothering to hide that she's pissed. The signature stalactites of the underground caves can be made out above her, although at the moment, she is more interested in the device in her hand and whoever she may be speaking to. ]
Finally. This is Detective Chloe Decker of the LAPD. I just... found myself in this horror cave and I don't know how to get out. I don't know if this device is meant to communicate with whoever brought me here, but if it is, it would really be in your best interest to let me go.
[ As if this week couldn't have gotten any worse. Chloe feels like she just can't cut a break anymore, not that she ever really could before. ]
If anyone else sees this message... I need some help.

She also noticed that she's gotten a few people who are probably willing to offer explanations at this point, she'll be a slightly different kind of helpful:]
If you find yourself in need of a drink after all of this, Lucifer has a club on the sixth floor. Or, if you're looking for a different venue, there's a quieter bar on the fifth.
[Helpful information for every of age Wonderland resident, in Freya's humble opinion.]

Though surprise, surprise, she's not exactly thrilled at how pretty all the ladies Lucifer seems to know are. A leopard doesn't change his spots, she reminds herself. ]
Why am I not surprised he opened a bar. [ She's not. He already obviously made himself at home here. ] You know Lucifer?
a million years later, sorry for the wait
[And not one of his usual "friends" - she does actually value Lucifer as a person, though she's not going to explain that right off the bat because she doesn't think she needs to qualify it.]
We arrived in Wonderland around the same time.
no worries!
If nothing else, at least she can reign herself in on taking it out on any of the friends she is meeting. It's not their fault that he hurt her, and Chloe is trying to do her best not to misplace that blame. It wouldn't do her a lot of good right now to insult anyone over her issues with a relationship gone wrong. ]
Maybe you can shed some light on this for me. He told me that he's been here for ten months. But time passed with me back home, and he was definitely there during that time. Lucifer told me it might have something to do with time travel but I'm looking for an answer that... [ Isn't quite as insane? ] That is a little more down to earth.

I'm afraid it's not time travel, exactly, but I can't say it's any more down to earth. From what we can tell - and based on my own personal experiences - Wonderland seems to return us to the exact moment we left, with no memory of our experiences here.
So in a sense Wonderland is a small vacation from reality.

[ For all of the strange things Chloe has seen in her lifetime, she can't even begin to wrap her head around this. ]
But I'm from his future, he's from my past, but we're both here at the same time and anything that happens here we forget. I'm actually getting a headache.

[She gives a small shrug.]
I arrived about a year ago. My brother arrived three months later, telling me about events that I didn't remember, and he didn't know that I was ever gone. Same story with my sister a few weeks later. A few months after that, I returned home. I remembered nothing of my life in Wonderland, lived through several months until I caught up with my siblings, and then returned to Wonderland and the memories that resided there. What was a quarter of a year for me was a month for everyone here.

[ Speaking to someone who actually was able to go home gave her pause, although the fact that she was sent back after being home for so long wasn't promising. The idea of being sent home and losing so many memories unsettled her deeply. She didn't like the idea of someone taking away her memories like that. ]
That doesn't really clear it up, but it makes me feel less crazy. Do a lot of people go home and come back like that? Is that something I should be expecting?
no subject
From what I've seen, it actually happens more frequently than you would think. And I don't know if you should expect it, exactly, as there are some residents who have been here for years and have not seen home in that time, but it wouldn't be outside of the realm of possibility.

[ At this point, she is just trying desperately to make sense of all of this. It's her cop brain trying to stifle her panic brain; if she can make sense of this, come up with patterns and motives and suspects, it translates all of this insanity into a language she can make some sense of.
Without all that, she feels like she's landed on a different planet. Sadly, there isn't much to be done about her getting the answers she wants. For the most part, she just keeps coming up with more questions to ask people who seem to have about as much of an idea of what is going on as she does.
Which is to say, not a heck of a lot. ]
Is there a reason we're here? [ This can't just be random. There's a mansion, and other people, and rooms for them. Surely there was a reason for all of it. ]

Wonderland survives on the memories of it's captives. It's an incredibly slow process but the intent is to make it as though there was nothing before Wonderland.

[ God, that sounds horrible. She can't even imagine it, what it would be like to forget her life, her mom, her daughter. Of course if she forgot, she wouldn't ever know... But that somehow made it feel worse. What kind of person would she be without knowing about Trixie and everything else that happened to her in her life? ]
And I guess we won't even know when it starts happening, will we?
no subject
[There's a slight grimace.]
The longest resident here is ... six years in Wonderland, I think? And they still seem fairly aware of the person that they were and the world they came from. So I believe it takes some time.
At the same time, who knows how accurate that picture is?
no subject
Yeah, I guess it's probably hard to tell. [ She groans and rubs her face. ] Do you know that resident? I'd like to talk to them if I can.

[though that's going to get complicated once mirror things go down.]

Elena is fairly knowledgeable herself, though she hasn't been here as long. We're from the same universe.

[That being said.]
And there are some people I still miss.
no subject
[ Her daughter. Surprisingly, even her ex-husband. ]
Does whatever dragged us here seem to make a habit out of taking people from the same universes?
no subject
I suppose. Though for a long time a friend of mine was the only one from our world here. We're all more ... recent arrivals.
no subject
[ She just needed to figure out what did matter, if anything. ]
I really appreciate your help trying to figure all of this out.

[There's a beat.]
Or share a drink. Occasionally both.
no subject
That would be nice.
no subject
[And sadly it won't be nice ;; BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO when your friends are Mikaelsons.
But with that, Freya out. /scene]
