[Wonderland had a new landmark from that Mirror event. Minato thought he should take the time to go out and explore the new lake again. It was peaceful out here, and he liked that there were frogs and fish and those red water lilies. It was a different atmosphere than the beach and ocean.

But he did come out here for a reason too. He had already searched all the normal places within the mansion and around the grounds. Still nothing. Nothing had turned up. No sign or anything. He hadn't wanted to believe it, but he knew it was inevitable. Things like this were possible.

He finally settled himself in a rowboat and paddled his way to the middle of the crystal clear lake. It had been murky and cloudy the last time he had seen it. Then when he was ready, lying down in that boat and looking up at the sky, he sent out his message on the network.]

Stefan Salvatore has gone home.

[Oh, this is not fun news indeed. More potential friends slipping through her fingers. All the same, her sadness isn't something to place on Minato, and she puts on a stoic face and a small smile when she responds.]

Of course. I'm sorry about it though.

[It had been a while since Minato lasted talked to Freya, but he wished that this conversation was under better circumstances. He knew that Stefan had to have had a lot of friends. Hearing that someone just up and left without warning was not the easiest thing to have to do,, let alone having to cope with afterward.]

[She nods in agreement.]

Don't be. It wasn't in your control. Sometimes there is nothing we can do.

[But that's the part that hurts too. He wished there was something that could've been done.]

Are you going to be okay?

[It's a sweet consideration, but she nods.]

Of course. He was a good friend, but we're from the same universe. I'm sure we'll see each other again.

[EXCEPT SHE WON'T but she doesn't know that.]

[Minato nodded. He hadn't made the connection or had known that they were from the same world, but it made sense now.]

Were you from the same time period too?

[That is so sad!]

I was a few years ahead of him, but more or less.

[She always figured they would have time to catch up, now that he had his memories again, but that wasn't in the cards, unfortunately.]

[That was close enough. Years for her or for Stefan seemed, to Minato, shorter than they actually were. If he could think of it that way, though he couldn't actually assume that.]

Do you think he's happy at home? Or will be?

[She pauses for a moment as she considers.]

I know when he visits us in New Orleans, he's in love. I suppose that's worth something?

It is.

[That did seem to sum it up if he were happy or not. He imagined anyone in love would be.]
