video; event day four
[The device falls from a slack hand, found in a pocket and puzzled over for only a moment before it's dropped. A smear of dirty water smudges one corner of the camera, and someone stumbles halfway into view on the screen.
That someone is soaked through, wearing a white shirt and a dirty, red tie that stands out almost ghoulishly against the pallor of his skin - just a little too grey to be natural. Maybe it's just the cold. He's shivering and gripping his upper arms, viewing the bloody carnage that surrounds him with the wide-eyed bewilderment of a child.
But no matter how you spin it, there is something visibly off about this man. His colour is one thing, but the bluish veins that stand out against his skin and the pewter-grey shade of his eyes paint a very peculiar picture.
He looks more like the bodies surrounding him than anyone who might be watching.
The backdrop paints a clear picture of just where he is, and takes a few shuffling steps forwards, displaying something that looks like uncertainty. His expression works - confusion, worry - then he moves out of shot.]
[[ooc: inviting anyone to come across him in person, or shout at him from the phone! he'll come back and pick it up. all I ask is pls don't shoot him in the head.]]

action
[R is privately impressed that he managed a pause for dramatic effect, rather than simply lagging between one forced breath and the next. The thought distracts him for long enough that it's visible his mind isn't quite on task for a few seconds, then he looks over to Sans again.
As one of few people who haven't tried to kill him, Sans ranks fairly high on the list of people that he might choose to ask questions. The fact he is a talking skeleton is a surprise that's slowly wearing off.]
What's going on..?
action
[He looks around at all the houses, the zombies milling around, the general destruction. God, he can't imagine how much it would suck to show up in Wonderland in the middle of an event.]
it's kinda...a lot to explain. place is called wonderland. it has a tendency to change. so...it doesn't usually look like this. usually it's just a sorta mansion and some countryside. it's a capricious place.
action
[Because despite coming from a place where the arguably Dead can be reanimated and walk the Earth, R does not come from a place where magic is something that people really believe in.
Recent events taken into account, though, he could be convinced.]
How did I get here?
action
[Or it'll make even less sense. Doesn't really matter in the end.]
you woke up here. we all did. it just sorta--happens.
action
... So.
[So.]
... What happens.. now?
action
[He looks around again, taking in the general nightmare going on around them.]
hide and find somewhere to lie low until this is over. maybe write "i am not actually a zombie" on your shirt. heh. just try to last till it's over, yeah? people will be more understanding then.
