Hi, everyone. Wonderlanders or whatever you call yourselves, Obviously this is my first time doing this kind of thing. Hell, the last time I was talking to a camera, it was to record my own eulogy after I’d been shot.

In the knee, it wasn’t really that serious or anything. But that kind of thing does make you wonder. Maybe this is the place for that. Wondering.

[A small, awkward chuckle.]

I’m just hoping someone out there sees this, and can lend the poor noob a hand. Because, prison or nexus dimension or whatever, this place sure seems strange, even by my standards. And, um, yeah, I spent my childhood in a VR chamber because I wasn’t able to interact with the rest of the world very well.

Oh, oops, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Bart. Bart Allen. It’s short for Bartholomew, and I wanted to be different. It’s not the worst nickname in the world. I have a friend who has to go by ‘Gates’ because his name’s pretty much impossible to pronounce without insectoid mandibles.

That can happen here as well. I've already learned some things about my own future from others that are further along in my world. So far they haven't been bad things though. Quite the opposite.

[And quite bolstering with all he's going through in his own world before he came to Wonderland.]

Oh well. I hadn't even thought about something like that, though sounds a bit like the Ministry of Magic. Many of their departments are designed to help keep wizarding knowledge out of Muggle hands. for their own safety, of course.

Well, I once had my grandmother show up to tell me I was going to be dead in a week. Not exactly the kind of thing you want to hear, well, ever.

[He frowns a little at the discussion of Ministry of Magic and Muggles. He'd have to guess it was a term for folks without magic.]

From what I've seen, magical know-how isn't even all that safe in the hands of those with the right experience. Some of the things out there are total monkey's paw scenarios waiting to pounce.

And was she wrong, or you have means of returning from the dead? Is the latter, at least it won't be a shock for you here.

[No one else he's talked to seems to be adjusted to that idea, but maybe it has happened to some.]

Except for those that are truly intent on harming others, I've not seen much of that, but then I understand that is why war happens as well in both worlds. I suppose it depends on if you have people in your world who do magic, and those that live in magical worlds, perhaps.

Sometimes it seemed like all the cool kids were returning from the dead. Or at least the balance changed after Superman did it. Not saying it was a pleasant experience, though.

[Bart really doesn't like to talk about that life, especially, since, on one level, it wasn't even really him, just a remnant created by what he'd tried to do to save his best friend's life.]

I've known people who have magic, do magic, whatever. It seems to be a fairly individual thing for them, though. Zatanna speaks her spells backwards, for example.
