[if wynonna had any close friends here yet she might ask them but she doesn't so she's going to try that anon thing she's seen other people do and try to play it cool.

so. say you're dating someone who is kinda famous. like there's books written about them. and say you know something like their birthday from those books and not them. do you do something?

and if you do like what's the appropriate gesture here? cause i'm kinda at a loss.

i mean maybe they never told me because they don't want to celebrate. but what if they're hurt they figured out i knew and didn't say anything?

[ Anon seems to be getting some good... Well, some advice anyway, but Chloe figures she might as well ring in. When you have an eight year old you spend a LOT of time figuring out birthdays after all. ]

If you're not sure, it's probably a good idea to keep it one on one. No big surprise parties or get togethers, I mean. Dinner and a gift and maybe a walk on the beach or something low key? Then if they really hate the idea of celebrating their birthday, it can just be a normal date.

That's fair. What kind of stuff do they like? Maybe you can figure out if they like to go to bars or if just a dinner in your room would be something they would like more? And then you can build off of that.

You could revamp your room into a personal library for the night? Then you have the ambiance without the being in a public place part.

Yeah, it's an idea -- I could think of things that are more fun to do with our bedrooms than reading, though.

I could think of better things to do in a library than read. I mean if you just want a change of scenery.

I guess I didn't think of it like that -- shaking things up a little bit could be fun. He likes things that are kinda oldtimey. maybe I'll incorporate something that would be more familiar for him.

I totally get that. I never expected to actually date someone here and I have no idea what I'm doing.

[ Coming out of a failed marriage and a really short relationship with her partner, Chloe feels like she's pretty much flying blind. Not to mention she still has feelings for said partner, who is in Wonderland, even though she is dating someone else. Feelings are complicated. ]

Never mind it's pretty different.

[ At least, for Chloe. But she comes from a world where she's been shielded from demons and other supernatural problems. It probably helps that her partner is the Devil and her roommate is a demon, and they both have protected her from their lives to an annoying degree, which she realizes now that she knows the truth about them. ]

I have had my share of disaster boyfriends

I just got divorces so you'll get no judgement from me. I do know a lot of people like starting over here, though. Might be a good place to figure out if you can be relationship material. I'm sure you have it in you.

honestly i'm not so sure myself, but i appreciate the vote of confidence. he's patient about most of this stuff, luckily.

It is weird if I say this place is actually a lot less crazy than home is? I mean if we're talking consistently -- sometimes this place is worse but there's a lot of down time I don't get in my regular life back home

I've learned a lot of crazy stuff about my own world since I got here that I would have never believed before. Some really, really weird stuff. So yeah, I kind of get it.

[ Chasing around murderers alone keeps Chloe pretty busy, but learning the whole her-partner-is-actually-Satan thing kind of clarified why her life had become relentlessly weird over the last couple years. ]

I also know a lot of people who come from really awful places who are happier here. My boyfriend is one of them. So I get that too.
