( the grin shifts into something a bit more sheepish, free hand raising to adjust the big, bulky glasses sitting on his nose. )

Hi, Cissie. Nice to meet you. ( he didn't say his mom's first last name, did he? which means that this is probably another person who is at least vaguely aware of his parents--but not aware of his existence from her pause. it's not the first person to react like that, it probably won't be the last, but it does raise the question of how exactly she knows them.

just a fan of the paper they both work at, or--? ) Yeah, they're my parents. Do you know them?

Nice to meet you, too. Uh... I know of them, I guess. I mean, I've met them. I don't know if they'd say we know each other, so much as... of each other... [She's babbling, but she's preoccupied, thinking of Kon, and of the time she yelled at Superman, and how she's got no idea what timeline or Earth Jon is from, or when in the timeline...

She gives a little smile.] They're pretty famous, your parents. I'm sure you know that. I'm sorry, though, they aren't here.

Yeah, I kinda figured that out. They are pretty famous, which's why I was hoping somebody'd recognize their names if they didn't have one of these things.

( it's--sad, to think about them not being here, it worries him. jon's okay on his own, he's gotten used to it especially over the last few weeks, with clark focusing more on his superman stuff and lois going back to her job at the daily planet. it doesn't mean he likes it though. )

Sorry, kiddo. [Her tone is gentle, and the word 'kiddo' comes out without her thinking about it. If he's Superman's son, that makes him Kon's... something. She's sure Kon isn't handling this terrible well, but once he gets over the shock... Well. He'll come around. And if he doesn't, Cissie will have Words with him.]
