[The woman who appears on the feed might be familiar to a few people. She's sitting at a table or a desk and facing the camera, composed, but a little worse for wear. She looks tired.]

You sure know how to make a girl feel at home. [Not that she's faced frost giants or dark elves before, but dropped into the middle of a fight she wasn't expecting and wasn't prepared for? One that probably should be left to gods and super soldiers? That is familiar. The last two days haven't been boring] Is that normal?

[Natasha taps the table in front of her twice, drawing a slow breath as she considers how she's going to play this. If putting her face on the network is a mistake, then she's already made it.]

I think I'm ready for the welcoming committee now.

I'll keep an eye out for your superheroes. I bet they're really cool.

Actually, most of them are kind of dorks. [Said in an absolute deadpan.] Don't get me wrong, they're good at the saving the world thing when they have to be, but total losers.

Haha, really? Do you know them personally?

Some of them. Some of them more than others.

[Even if Natasha were interested in being forthcoming, that's not a simple question right now.]

Maybe. You'd really have to ask them.

If you can find them. Captain America is around, at least.

[She snorts, smiling almost fondly.]

Probably going to mention being from Brooklyn not too far into the conversation.

Doesn't telling everyone where he's from risk people finding out his secret identity?

Captain America's identity isn't a secret. Neither is Iron Man's for that matter. They're both public.

[Natasha's is too, for that matter, even if she'd rather it weren't.]

( he opens his mouth to speak again, but--seems to think better of it, and pauses to reconsider his next words carefully. )

Isn't that unsafe? Superheroes keep their identities secret to protect their friends and family, right? If the bad guys know who they are. .

Some of them, I suppose. And some of them do because it's illegal without government oversight. [Both vigilantism and now against the Sokovia Accords.] Captain America's never been a secret though. They used his name in film strips back in World War II.

I know that it's technically illegal, but it doesn't really hurt anyone, does it? There're as many super villains, if not more of them, than there're super heroes. And it's not like the government can take on aliens from another planet or fifth dimensional beings. .

( but that's kind of a conversation for another day, isn't it? while jon's been around long enough, followed the news enough and has done his own research into certain super heroes, he also knows that he. . probably doesn't know nearly as much about any of it than an adult does. )

I guess it doesn't really matter that much here anyway, huh?

[Natasha doesn't answer his first question. Partly because the situation where he's from sounds different from hers, and partly because she doesn't have a good answer.

The second part, however, is easy to respond to.]

Not really, no. And as long as we're here, I'll just be grateful to have them on our side.

( right, okay, maybe not the time for deep conversations when there's things attacking everyone, right? what's a good, positive thing about being here-- )

Has anyone told you about the closets yet?

[Because it looks like Natasha hasn't heard about those yet, no.]

If you ask it for stuff, as long as it's stuff that can fit in a closet, it'll give it to you! It's pretty cool.

I asked it for some clothes and gaming consoles and action figures and posters and all of it just kinda came right out.

I suppose that's something. [Seems like a pretty weak trade off for being kidnapped and held against her will, though. Maybe she'd feel differently if she could think of things she wanted, though. Outside of her gear.] So we're not short on resources, at least...

Yeah.

( though he'd still like to know how that works--maybe it's a dimensional pocket? it doesn't really make sense for one to be in the closet, but it's not as if the bedrooms themselves make sense either. )

I'm sure we'll find a way out of here eventually!

Not bad. Unexpected? I think usually adults are the ones who are doing the comforting.

My dad always taught me that good people get involved, and you looked kinda upset, so. .

I mean, age means stuff sometimes, but even a kid is capable of being polite and helpful, right?
