[When the feed comes on, there's a bit of shaky cam before Fiddleford has his device set up just the way he wants it. He tries to straighten his hair out a little here as he adjusts his glasses.]

So, ah, it just sort of occurred to me today that I've been here for quite a while now. In fact I think it's been about a whole year now? Ha, time sure flies when you're... well, not havin' fun per-say, given where we are, but--anyway, you know what I mean.

[His glasses slip a little and he forces himself to re-adjust them again.]

I... I feel like there's somethin' I should tell ya'll here 'bout that but... come on Fiddleford, you're on camera, th-this is just... terribibble to suddenly--oh, that's right: it's gotten me to realize just how little work I've actually gotten done here? There was that arm of Stanford's which he doesn't really need anymore, thank heavens and some, ah, smaller stuff for other people, but I'm lookin' for new ideas of things to tinker with and build. Somethin' that could really be of help to everyone here.

[He then turns the feed's attention to a little blackboard set up behind him... before remembering that he has a blue-print of what appears to be some kind of giant robot monster with the tag-line "current idea: design a pair of wings so that giant robot can fly away from wonderland" and quickly pulls that down and off-screen.]

So! If ya'll have somethin' that you think would be handy to have and would like to have built, just tell me and I'll jot it down to get started on inventin'!

[As for what that sudden lapse in memory was, WELL...]

Ah, well... the only person I know of who might've noticed somethin' like that and would look for me is kinda already here, so...

[ Emily tries not to feel crestfallen. She's an optimist. A people-person.

Wonderland won't defeat her. She will Emily the crud out of this place.

It takes her a couple seconds, but she manages a bright smile. ]

Well, I wouldn't worry about it. Even if I didn't have a team of the best people in the multiverse, I know superheroes. They won't stop until they save people here. I promise.

That's certainly an optimistic way of lookin' at it.

[But he's not arguing against it...]

[ She grins at him over the feed. ] Why shouldn't I be optimistic about it? Look. My friends have saved me more times than I can count. Two of them actually have superpowers. And one of them? Knows people in Justice League Europe. They'll get us out of here. You'll see.

[ She hopes. ]

So all we have to do in the meantime is, you know. Hang out. Get to know each other. Enjoy our time here while we can. I mean, how often do you get to meet people from other universes, right?

[Sometimes, that's not a good thing. At least, if the thing from another universe is Bill Cipher.

What's the Justice League?

[ What's the- Oh! Right! She was just talking about the multiverse. And as much as she may brag (humblebrag) about knowing superheroes personally, she has to remember that not everyone in Wonderland has superheroes back home, let alone know her superheroes by name. ]

The Justice League is a group of superheroes. The first one was in America, but that one's usually just called Justice League, because it was the first and we all live in America. But there were superheroes in the rest of the world, too, so there's a Justice League Europe and such.

Actually, I wonder if people in Europe call our Justice League "Justice League America." That would be so weird...

But uh, yeah. They all have superpowers and they're all really cool and smart and stuff and have, like, infinite money and scientific stuff and power to solve problems. They're probably already working on this one.

Really? That's pretty amazin'--we didn't have superheroes like that in our universe, 'cept in the comics that my son would read sometimes.

You have a son? [ How sweet is that? ] What's he like? He sounds adorable.

[ Obviously he sounds adorable. Emily has so much information about him! Said no one ever. Still. Awwwwww! ]

He sure is: my son Tate is about seven... or is he eight now? Anyway, he's a bit of a quiet fella, but he can be a rambunctious sort too when he feels like it. Real good at playin' catch and has been improvin' at fishin' since the last time we went out together.
