[Time for Wonderland's fifth annual Japanese KFC Christmas! The diner has been decorated just like everything else in the Mansion. Of course, like every year, Souji's made his own additions, with Minato's help. They've dragged out the Colonel (it took them several tries to get one that wasn't made of gingerbread) and in the background of the feed, Minato is stringing him with twinkling fairy lights.

Souji isn't helping. Sitting at the counter in front of a small army of strawberry Santas, he's holding one in one hand, looking at it from all angles, as though deciding which direction it's best to attack from. To the side are several undecorated Christmas cakes, which Minato will be tending to once he's finished helping the Colonel get dressed.

Realizing the device is recording, Souji sits up a bit straighter, because he totally wasn't slacking off.]

The diner's ready for anyone who wants to eat fried chicken. [He smiles a little. In the background, Minato waves to the camera.] We do this every year, but if you weren't here before, it's a tradition from home. In Japan--the Japan I'm from anyway--we eat fried chicken and Christmas cake each year.

We'll be making it from now until Christmas, as long as things stay like they are now.

[I.e. without too much ridiculous chaos going on.]

[Note: Both Minato and Souji will answer responses (separately from one another). Feel free to have Mirrors wander in as well. There is enough chicken and cake for everyone.]

That's his normal Christmas getup. Although we almost ended up with a gingerbread version.

Gingerbread version might not have been so bad. Once you were done with him, you could eat him-- don't have to worry about storage.

[Or wastefulness. Right?]

It just wouldn't have been the same, you know?

[A gingerbread version wouldn't have been a good representation of the whitest of white guys.]

[Okay. Good point.]

Plus I guess the gingerbread would have gotten stale over time... probably best to keep with tradition.

It'd be pretty brittle too, after awhile. Kind of like the rest of the Mansion.

[It's hard to cook in a gingerbread kitchen...]

And flammable, probably... the novelty of it was kind of fun for a few days, but it's starting to get hard to function.

[He also went into sugar shock from casually nibbling on parts of the mansion throughout the day pretty quickly. Consider that a life lesson learned.]

It's not that fun for animals either, based on my experience. Getting food for mine has been a pain.

We've been having a rough time getting our hands on proper food for our dog, too. Can't exactly give him gingerbread and icing. Have you been managing in the long run, though?

[Look, he's concerned about the animals.]

Yeah, so far. It's easier getting meat for the dragon than getting plants for the rabbit, though.

[Like the dragon needs to eat more. The fat little thing.]

You have a dragon?

[Oh my god. That might be the coolest thing he's ever heard.]

Yeah. She's about the size of a Scottish terrier. And she's really fat.

[Which is mostly his fault.]

She sounds adorable. What's her name?

[This nerd is all about this pet dragon, now.]

Tefra. ~~[Or tephra, which Kristen has been spelling wrong for like three years, and is too stubborn to change now.]~~ It's a kind of volcanic rock.

It seemed like that kind of thing was fitting for a dragon.

Badass. I wonder if Billy would let me adopt a closet dragon... we already have a dog, maybe he needs a friend.

She's pretty fun. She can't fly, or anything, but smaller dragons might be able to. [Tefra would be able to if she weren't so...fat.]

Those wings have trouble holding her up?

[He can only imagine how fat a spoiled pet dragon might get.]

Maybe she needs to start running some laps or something.

[He smiles at that, also trying to just imagine that dragon flying.]

She actually likes playing outside, especially in the snow. Which I guess means she's not really a reptile.

I always figured dragons were kind of their own thing. I mean, sure, they're scaly and all, but it seems like they'd be in a class all their own.

[Especially since a lot of them are said to live inside mountains? If any of the fantasy novels he's read are to be believed.]

That's been my experience. She was given to me by an alien who knew a lot more about dragons than me.

[You're crossing genres here, Souji.]

[He seems really interested in that.]

I didn't realize there were that many aliens who were interested in dragons.

She was raised by a dragon, so they were kind of her thing.

[Man it's been a long time since he even thought about Redglare. He's a little surprised--and a lot pleased--that he remembers this much about her.]

She sounds like she was really something.

[Raised by a dragon sounds like some seriously cool fantasy novel type stuff.]

She was pretty amazing. She helped teach me how to fight.

[He'd already known how to some extent from running a million miles and fighting a zillion shadows in the TV, but this training had been on another level.]

That was a long time ago, though.

If you're ever looking to brush up on your fighting skills, I mean-- I wasn't raised by dragons, but I can offer you another alien sparring partner.

[He has dragony wings, sometimes. Does that count?]
