[Time for Wonderland's fifth annual Japanese KFC Christmas! The diner has been decorated just like everything else in the Mansion. Of course, like every year, Souji's made his own additions, with Minato's help. They've dragged out the Colonel (it took them several tries to get one that wasn't made of gingerbread) and in the background of the feed, Minato is stringing him with twinkling fairy lights.

Souji isn't helping. Sitting at the counter in front of a small army of strawberry Santas, he's holding one in one hand, looking at it from all angles, as though deciding which direction it's best to attack from. To the side are several undecorated Christmas cakes, which Minato will be tending to once he's finished helping the Colonel get dressed.

Realizing the device is recording, Souji sits up a bit straighter, because he totally wasn't slacking off.]

The diner's ready for anyone who wants to eat fried chicken. [He smiles a little. In the background, Minato waves to the camera.] We do this every year, but if you weren't here before, it's a tradition from home. In Japan--the Japan I'm from anyway--we eat fried chicken and Christmas cake each year.

We'll be making it from now until Christmas, as long as things stay like they are now.

[I.e. without too much ridiculous chaos going on.]

[Note: Both Minato and Souji will answer responses (separately from one another). Feel free to have Mirrors wander in as well. There is enough chicken and cake for everyone.]

Wow, I've been here for over a year and I had no idea. Guess you can learn something new every day about this place.

[ She's eating at a comfortable pace now, humming happily. ]

This is all so good. I think fried chicken is a new favorite.

I think that's pretty normal. There's a lot I still don't know, even after so long.

[He smiles at the compliment.]

I'm glad. It took my awhile to get it to taste right.

And this is what everyone eats at Christmas?

[ She has no idea, honestly Her first Christmas with Kurt is still up and coming from her point of view, and she's so down with this being it. The chicken is perfect. ]

People really like cooked birds on holidays.

I don't know about everyone, but it's what we eat in Japan.

[He smiles at that last part.]

It was goose that was traditional in England, I think.

Goose!!

[ Jane's eyes widen at that, and it's at that moment she remembers she went vegan for a year when she lived with Tibetan monks. She looks down at the chicken.

Oh well, it's delicious. She keeps eating. ]

I feel like I knew you could eat that, but I never have, and I don't know anyone who has.

I can try making it, if you want.

[He's never in his life cooked a goose, but he'd also never cooked a turkey before coming to Wonderland, either. He'd never even eaten turkey. So goose isn't outside of the realm of possibility.]

Maybe we could try making it together? It just sounds very um...

[ What's the word she's looking for...]

Rich? Upper class. Is that offensive to anyone?

[ She hopes not. She doesn't even know if that's necessarily true. ]

Not to me. But I could wear a suit while we make it, if you want.

[No reason not to ruin a good suit.]

[ Jane laughs, covering her mouth a little. ]

Maybe I'll wear opera gloves. Make it super fancy.

[ Her attention turns back to the food at hand though, and after a moment of eating, she looks at Souji. ]

This is all so good, really. Kurt cooks for me, but he's never made anything like this before.

[Her laugh makes him smile.]

It's not that hard to do. It just took some practice to get the flavor right.

What kind of stuff does he cook for you?

He really likes pasta from scratch, so there's a lot of Italian food. But he's also part Polish, so he likes making me pierogis. In return, I learned how to make his favorite cookies.

[ Homemade food for homemade food. It's only fair. ]

I've never had anything Polish. Maybe he'd teach me to make it?

I think he'd love to, he's very proud of his cooking. Maybe you can come by sometime and you can help him cook, then we can have dinner together? You can bring someone if you want, even.

[That makes him smile.]

I'd like that. It would be Minato, if I brought someone.

That's perfect, I like Minato. I've done some tattoos for him, he's become a good friend.

I've seen them. They're good.

[ Jane smiles at that, almost shyly. ]

Thank you. If you ever wanted one, I'd be happy to do it once I open my studio back up.

I think I'll take you up on that. I just have to think of what I want.

That would be great. I'll do one for you any time, just let me know.

[ As she finishes her chicken, she's already eyeing the cake, completely ready to dig in. ]

Is it okay if I take some of this back to my room?

[ She can't imagine why it wouldn't be, but still, she asks. ]

Of course.

[He sees her eyeing the cake and nudges it closer to her.]

You can take as much as you like. I'll even give you to go boxes.

[ That makes Jane grin, and she digs into the cake, humming happily and speaking with her mouth full of cake as if she has no manners. ]

I'm sorry, but it's just so good.

There's no reason to apologize. It makes me happy that you like it.

In that case, I hope you don't mind if I keep going until someone has to call my husband to carry me home. If he can lift me.

[ She smiles, teasing, happy to be with a friend and eating good food. ]

[Souji smiles at the image that conjures and nods as he keeps eating with her. This is a pretty good day.]
