[For those that know Seth, he's looking much better than he has for months. Pulled together, all sharp creases and straight lines. There's no dark circles under his eyes and he doesn't seem to have a glass in front of him. At least for now.

He also looks bitterly amused.]

A guy goes out into the woods for one freaking week to try and get his head on straight and you all go nuts. Nice to see that much as some things change, everything else just remains the same.

With a week or so of sobering up and learning my paranoia apparently has jackshit to do with my diet of scotch and whiskey, I had a thought that came to me and if I have to live with these thoughts, so do the rest of you.

How do we know that everyone that vanishes goes home? I mean, what if some of those that are positive about serial killers and criminals in our midst... [Hello, pot? This is the kettle.] ... what if they're right and someone's bumping people off and we just assume they're being sent home like so many others?

After that thought, not sure if sobriety will pay off but we'll see how long it lasts.

We all have pretty much taken Wonderland and other people's experiences at face value.

[ Jane pauses, wetting her lips a little and shaking her head. ]

I was killed by a person, but it was during an event. So obviously, you mean someone who isn't being controlled or directed. You mean if Ted Bundy showed up and was one of us?

[ Just to clarify. ]

Yeah, that's kinda what got into my head. We're told we die and come back, but what proof do we have telling us that's all it is? We just accept that because it's shitty enough on its own, right?

[And not thoughts he needed, but being the dick he is, he shares to try and help himself. Even if it may mess up others.]

Yeah, like that. I mean, not saying I'm straight and proper back in my own life, but my gig wasn't killing people for fun. [Profit could turn things, but not fun, and not much profit in Wonderland.]

So what happens then? If someone like that shows up?

I've wondered that about my family. There's more than one person who might try to kill me or the people I care about. But the only answer I ever have for myself is 'I don't know.' Because I don't.

[ If Roman, especially, ever showed up, then what the hell. ]

We don't have a way to lock people up, there's no law here. And if someone hasn't committed a crime yet even if we know what they're capable of, what can we really do?

Would you know them if they came here? The kind who would try and kill you?

[Because it's good if they know these things and can warn one another.]

Well that's what I told the person that put this in my head, and I feel the same. I guess I mean if we find someone that we know is like that. Like trying to kill someone outside of an event. Or hiding bodies, or people.

I really don't know. I just got these thoughts in my head and couldn't get them out.

I asked my husband about it a few days ago. He didn't know what to do about it either. But I know years ago there was a cannibal here. He murdered a few people but the person who could tell us what happened with all of it left. Evelyn. I think he killed her, but I also...think he disappeared the way people do.

Well shit. I know family like that. Which sucks. Royally.

Shit. Soon as you mentioned a cannibal, I knew it to be Evelyn. She mentioned once about dealing with some things here that weren't events.

She never got a chance to figure out what to do because then he was gone. If someone like that has come back since, I haven't heard anything about it. Should everyone be responsible for warning others about all the possible dangers of their world?

[ It's also conflicting. Jane was a terrorist, or at least she had been. What would someone from her past say about her? If they showed up here and she couldn't remember them anyway thanks to her memory wipe? Then what? ]

So there's precedent that this place could bring someone like that here. Isn't that cheerful?

Damned if I know. I've talked about mine with a few, but that's the big heavies, you know? There's what? Like hundreds of active serial killers at any given time or some shit? How would we even know?

[Not that he doesn't take every chance to downplay his own criminal element and the things he's done. Or protect Richie's reputation from what his brother did. ]

And with timelines so different, someone who...might have done terrible things at one point in their life could be completely changed now. But bring someone in from their past who only knows them as that person, then what?

[ That's her second big concern. ]

You have someone here who hasn't done anything wrong at all, but someone from home trying to convince us we're dealing with a terrible person.

But where do you lay down that line? I mean, do we want to know the past in case? Never know it until they do something shitty here?

Has to be somewhere in between, right? Not that I have a clue how you'd measure that but still. And I'm not talking shitty and not meaning like has fun killing people and shit like that.
