HEY GUYS - We know this is a little bit early, but we wanted to give you guys as much time to plot, advertise and GET HYPE as possible! Ewaymas is our biggest event of the year every year, and this year we wanted to do something extra special.

On the evening before December 12th, the captives of Wonderland might be awoken by a loud commotion. Some of it is typical Ewaymas noise, likely familiar to anyone who has been in Wonderland for more than a year – construction sounds and jingle bells as Wonderland decks its own halls quite literally. Garland and lights race down the walls and down the stairs, and stockings appear on the walls for each and every person in Wonderland, embroidered with their names. There are decorative candles everywhere, and all sorts of decorations for every conceivable winter holiday, even if it does not align perfectly to the dates of Ewaymas. Time isn't real, so there will be menorahs and dreidels and Star of Davids even though Hanukkah ended two days prior. And of course, in the front hall, growing straight out of the floor, is a large decorated tree full of ornaments for everyone. And as always, it will have snowed heavily overnight, bringing all of the snow Wonderland will have between now and spring.

There is a second source of commotion in the night though – the sound of a crowd.

Over the course of the night, dozens of new arrivals will appear in Wonderland. Some for the first time. Some wondering how they managed to return with their memories. Others stumbling in with no recollection of ever having been here. Some might be friends from other timelines, other possibilities, and some might even be doubles of people who are already in Wonderland. It's strange for Wonderland to drag so many people into the mansion at once, but everything seems to indicate that they are supposed to be there. They have their own network devices and even have their own stockings on the wall and their own ornaments on the tree – by all accounts, it seems Wonderland expects that they'll be staying, and is treating them like any other new arrivals. Please, make them feel at home and help them settle in nicely.

Welcome to our first ever FOURTH WALL EWAYMAS! The fourth wall aspect of the event will last the entire event, from December 12th to December 26th. As always, December 26th is a mod-sanctioned backdate day – the last day of the event is December 25th ICly and we just don't know where December 26th goes every year because time still isn't real. Ewaymas is our biggest event of the year every year, and this time we'd like to invite as many people to join us as possible! Please take a moment to read our Fourth Wall Rules for more information.

This event will be split in two halves – the first from December 12th-18th and the second from December 19th-26th. There will be two mingle posts, on for the first half and one for the second.

PART ONE

From December 12th to December 18th!

There will be a post from the Queens on the 12th, addressing the sudden influx and welcoming all the new people of Wonderland to their new home. In addition, they will announce the removal of the glass between the sides of Wonderland, so Mirrors will also be able to come to the Ewaymas celebrations.

Despite having their own network devices, all visiting fourth wall characters will not be able to make their own posts to the network. They can reply to existing posts, but whenever they try to start their own it will give them an error message. I'm sure it's fine.

The first few days will be for catching up with old friends and enjoying the decorations and settling into Wonderland. However, within a couple of days the decorations will start to glitch, much the way corrupted computer graphics might. Lights might change abruptly from multi-color to blue or white, entire décor styles will abruptly change, candle flames will flicker on and off like broken fluorescent lights, and any singing decorations might loop on a beat or two over and over putting you into an eternal hell. Wonderland doesn't seem to be able to stick to one motif, and it can't stop changing. These glitches are occuring on both the Real Side of Wonderland and the Mirror Side.

By the 15th, these glitches will include entire rooms changing into different holiday scenes. These scenes will all be of characters at various winter holidays in the past, the present (in their world), or a possible future. At this point in the event, characters will still be able to navigate the basic mansion and be able to exit these moments easily. These scenes cannot be interacted with – Wonderland seems to consider them another form of decorating. Unlike previous events of this type, these scenes will not loop at first. They will play once, and then Wonderland will glitch and correct itself to be the room it is supposed to be. The scene might play again, but it will be in a different location if it does.

By this point, Wonderland is having an increasingly difficult time holding itself together in a way that makes geographical sense. You might exit one room, even a room that was not previously playing a scene, and find yourself in the kitchen or on the roof instead of in the hallway. You might open a door that you were sure led to your room only to see a ten foot drop to the grounds outside.

PART TWO

From December 19th to December 26th!

As of the 19th, no one will be able to use the network to make posts. A new error message will appear on all screens, but again, it's probably fine.

This will quickly prove to be a problem, as Wonderland has completely abandoned any sign of the signature mansion or its grounds. At this point, Wonderland has become a series of holiday past, present, and future scenes instead of a collection of rooms, and none of them connect together in any sensical, linear way. If you find a friend wandering, you may want to stay with them. It will prove difficult to seek out people on purpose (though very easy to stumble across people by accident).

In between the various scenes, instead of the halls of the mansion, are one of three voids. Gravity does not seem to exist in them, and characters will float, swim, or spin around until they find a new scene to be in. There is no up or down, and no ground to stand on. Scenes are entered suddenly and without warning, going from floating along to suddenly standing in a memory or a vision (unless you have come from the second void). Characters can also find themselves traveling from void to void, but there is no precise place where they overlap, and if they turn around they will not be able to return to the void they were previously in.

The first void is a bright white void. If you need something while you are in this void and you can picture it in your mind's eye, that item will appear before you. It cannot change you physically but it can summon items – essentially, it behaves as though you are standing inside one of the magical closets of Wonderland, or sitting in one of the magic cupboards of the kitchen.

The second void is a grayscale void with swirling bits of fog. It will be easier for characters to spot each other here as spots of color in a gray world, but the fog also carries muted bits of color. The fog does not stay put and is constantly in motion, but if characters look into the fog they will be able to see scenes playing out, and any other characters who may already be visiting that scene. The second void allows characters to spy and to examine scenes before they cross through to investigate, and to see the lines between the voids and the scenes.

The third void is a black void speckled with lights that look like they might be far off stars. At first that might seem soothing, but anyone who lingers too long in this void will soon be filled with dread and fear. This void comes with an overwhelming feeling that something is coming for them and it only grows the longer they're there. If they stay too long in this void without tripping on another scene or void, they might become so afraid that they start to see or hear things that aren't there, or panic at those around them.

It may be possible to encounter one of the residents of Wonderland, though they seem capable of navigating these voids quite easily and don't seem as disturbed by this turn of events as they could be. Many of them will also be prone to their forms glitching, but will ultimately remain themselves.

What happens from here? Will Wonderland recover? Stick around and find out towards the end of the event!

As mentioned in the Fourth Wall Rules, anyone who apps during this event will be able to just remain in Wonderland after the fourth wall with all of their memories in tact even if they were in Wonderland before, as long as they app before the 26th.

We'd also like to take a moment to announce a minor change to applications from here on out - as of today, you can substitute a Test Drive Thread or Fourth Wall Event Thread less than two months old for your FIRST PERSON SAMPLE, if you so choose. Please keep in mind that a Third Person sample and Character History are still required, but now you may use any kind of Wonderland voice testing, as long it is from a recent TDM or Fourth Wall Event. So doubles are a tricky subject, and I know that when I visit a game's fourth wall I always feel a little awkward about potentially bringing doubles unless someone has really explicitly said so, and if they haven't then I chicken out of even asking since some people aren't into that kind of thing.
