6th Lie [text]
[Alice is right. The Red Queen can't just leave people hanging like that.
After screaming into his pillow out of frustration, he's finally decided to just post to the network. No anon this time. Just angry texts.]
YOU KNOW WHAT
It's obvious the RQ is too busy to tell us what she's doing about this mess, and we can't actually trust her to be on our side if she's gonna run off like that, so I say we start preparing for the worst ourselves.
I know we have a bunch of storage rooms and a clinic, but does anyone have ideas for how to keep that thing from getting into our dreams or something? And no, I don't mean everyone put tinfoil on our heads! Unless, of course, you live in a world where that actually works. And do we still have enough fighters and superheroes for a militia?
Seriously! ANY IDEAS WILL HELP.

He can survive a zombie apocalypse. He's good at long haul survival and also the horrible pitch of sudden battle. But at least he has a half-decent idea of what he's facing back home- it's either other people or the dead. This? This could be anything. ]
I'm not sure how we're going to fight something that infects our dreams. Won't it be like trying to punch smoke?
Anyway. I'm behind you. Whatever it is we end up doing to try and not end up dead here. I got your back.

[This guy being the first one to respond calms him down a little.]
Anywho! You never know, maybe there are some people here who can travel through dreams or something. Or maybe someone smart enough to build Ghostbusters tech I guess. There's gotta be something, I just know it.
no subject
Maybe? There's all kinds of people here. I think the people here have both magic and tech areas covered pretty well. And if not, I guess there's always hitting it really hard with something heavy.
Shame about that badass sword. That looked like it would do some damage.
[Louis you have no idea how to wield a sword. ]
no subject
And by the way, did you have any big magical swords where you're from?
no subject
Nope. I never even came across any big swords. Except for Michonne's. She's in a different group, but she has a big sword. Not magical, though.
no subject
We're focusing on defense at the moment, not offense.
no subject
So how do we defend ourselves against something that gets into our heads? I mean, I learned how to prepare a place for a siege from Clem, but I don't know how effective that'd be against something like the Jabberwocky.
no subject
That's a good question. I'm hoping there's someone here who can loan their psychic powers for this noble cause, but so far the only idea we have is "GO PUT A METAL PLATE IN YOUR HEAD." Which is a terrible idea. Obviously.
no subject
Yeah that is absolutely not gonna work I am completely vetoing having a metal plate put in my head.
[Because he has a zombie plague and he kind of needs people to be able to put a goddamn bullet in his head from time to time. ]
The psychic thing would be our best bet. Or someone who can do that lucid dreaming thin, maybe?

Did your uncle have any other tricks we could use here?

I wish Ford were here. He'd know what to do.
no subject
guess hair growing potion won't help?
Remind me again who Ford-san was? I don't know if I really talked to him much.
no subject
He's been gone for a long time.

You mean the guy who was giving out coins last Christmas? If Pines-san was telling the truth?

[It isn't that he thinks the kid is on the wrong track, really. He's just being practical. The way things work in this world is so topsy-turvy all the time, it makes preparation hard. Especially when whatever's coming is such a vast possibility of unknowns.]
no subject
We could start with those ways to ward the mind. Don't the wards stack?
And it's called being adaptable, pal. If you're gonna be prepared, you're gonna need to make Plan B, C, etc. and expect the unexpected.
no subject
I know plenty about backup plans and backups for the backups, mate. But we still need starting points to work from, don't we?

[Really. He can't. He so can't believe it that he felt it necessary to type out his disbelief. Usually he's the last one to volunteer his help, but at least one part of that is uniquely suited to the odd set of skills he's picked up over the years.]
DUNNO IF YOU CAN KEEP IT OUT, BUT KNOWING HOW TO DO THAT LUCID DREAMING THING WOULD PROLLY HELP IF IT GETS IN.
no subject
So, when are you gonna start classes on that?

[Texted like someone who is Definitely Getting Roped Into Doing Classes.]

You could at least try to give us some useful tips or exercises to try the next time we go to sleep!

TOOK ME YEARS OF BOREDOM AND DESPERATION TO GET ANY GOOD AT IT, SO I DUNNO IF IT'LL EVEN BE WORTH IT ANYWAY.
no subject
[Yes, Hawke, he means you.]
