[Video/Action] The Return

[Steven finds himself quite literally dropped back into Wonderland.

Specifically, he falls into a patch of flowers in the garden. He quickly panics as he notices the flowers he's inadvertantly crushed.]

Whoops! I- I got this! [With that, he starts to... kiss each crushed flower individually. But with each kiss, there's a sparkling effect, and the flower is restored back to perfect condition.

After a few of those, he freezes up as it finally hits him.]

...Wonderland. I'm back in Wonderland!

[One can find him while he's fixing up those flowers in the garden, or while he's on his way back to the mansion in search of his friends.]

[And eventually he'll make contact over the network. He beams at the video feed and speaks.]

Hello, Wonderland? This is Steven... Steven Universe! Remember me? Because I sure remember you! [A confused blink.] Am I supposed to remember you? ...Well, I do anyway! I guess I'm here again. It's... kinda been a few years for me back home, since the time that I was last here. Anyone know how long I've been gone in Wonderland time? What's been happening - solve any more mysteries? How... has everyone been doing, in general? I'm - okay, I wish I was back home, but it's still nice to be here!

[The laughter is contagious, but Lapis is soldiering on.]

It was a fast breakdown. Someone should be putting this drama on TV.

I know, right! [He giggles through his dramatic pose.]

This makes Camp Pining Hearts look like Absolutely Content Breakfast Friends! [A beat, then he adds quickly.] That was a spin-off that never made it past the pilot!

[slapfight]

[Oh that reminds her!] Steven, now that you're back, you can "hang out" with us. We have so much to show you that isn't us kissing! There's been a lot of new 'morps. And I've taught Claude a new trick and he might actually perform it if we're patient!

[And so, just like that, the channel changes. Lapis is as usual content to simply go with the flow.]

You've got to tell us about what you've been up to too! Has it really been that long? You do sound a little off.

That's great! I always love hanging out with you guys, and I look forward to seeing all of that. [And as happy as he is for them, it would be pretty weird if they didn't do anything other than kissing.

He gives a firm nod to Lapis.]

Iiit sure has been two whole years since the last time I was here! Mostly I've been helping the Diamonds with stopping that whole empire business, buuut I did also have to save the world again recently? But that's a long story of it's own! [About an hour and twenty minutes long.]

[slapfight]

The Empire really is dismantling! [She sounds so thrilled.] And in good time too. I thought that would be a centuries-long process.

It's still hard to even imagine. But it sounds like some things never change.

[That is, Steven having to save the world. That part is just business as usual.]

Yeah, I think we're making good time with it! We're off to a good start at least.

[He chuckles at Lapis's comment.]

Iiit'd be nice if the whole threats to the fate of the world changed too! But at least one thing that won't change is having the best of friends to depend on.
