[accidental video/action] Bright eyes, how can you close and fail?

[The video starts abruptly, showcasing John's back as he walks-- something that's a little rare for him, what with the god tier flying and all --down the hall. His movements are slow and his steps are small, almost like he's not all that convinced that he wants to move forward in the first place. His hands fidget around, picking at his pants before floating up to grip the opposite elbow. The gesture seems to be his feeble attempt to keep himself from trembling anymore than he is already.

A sharp, high pitched noise tears from John's throat, and the feed ends.]

[Pinkie's hooves are a blur of pink as she twists and turns an unreasonable number of balloons and creates this in orange like it wasn't even a thing.]

Ta da! Do you like it?

[John holds it to his chest.]

Yeeeesss...

[God, he can't stop whimpering.]

[That doesn't seem like someone who likes it! Did she make it wrong?]

If you don't like it, we can pop it and make it whiz round and round!

[John nods.]

Okay. I dunno what to do, though.

[She deliberates, trying to think of something that would really occupy his mind.]

Let's paint my room!

[That sounds like mindless labor, at least. Maybe he'll zone out and not think for a while.

He has to wonder if that's her idea of fun, though.]

[She leads the way, slower than she'd usually walk because she doubts John will be moving at his usual pace.]

I'm going to paint a kitten riding on a rainbow! How about you?

[Silly John, you didn't think she meant boring painting, did you?]

I thought you meant just p-painting the walls a new color.

Would you rather do that? We can if you want!

No. This is good. [Weak smile.]

[They reach Pinkie's very pink room. She starts pulling sheets out from the closet to cover the ground and furniture.]

Help yourself to lollipops or whatever!

[She grabs a wide array of paints and sets them out.]

[John doesn't quite feel up to lollipops or whatever. When she sets out the paints, he picks up a brush and starts trying to draw something...

And then suddenly he remembers all his unconscious graffiti, and the graffiti his mirror did, and suddenly he's crying so hard his breath isn't working right and he just sort of kneels down, gasping.]

[Pinkie tosses aside the paint she was carrying - whoops, that's a big orange splash on her wall - and hurries back to John. She puts a leg around him.]

Hey, hey, it's okay. Is there anything you want to talk about?

I-- I'm so stupid, I can't-- I screw everything up and...

[Mooooansobgasp.]

I've never seen you screw anything up. And even if you do, things can be unscrewed! Is it something in particular you're worrying about?

I don't thi-ink so? I just feel terrible.

You really shouldn't be so hard on yourself - you're a smart, sweet boy!

[She pulls something green from a drawer and pops it on his head.]

The mystical powers of the happy hat are being absorbed by your head now!

[John blinks, scrubbing at his eyes and touching his head, confused.]

Umm. Okay.

[Maybe if he closes his eyes it'll absorb faster. Or, you know, at all.]

Feeeeel the happy going down your hair into your head. Wooowa-woooowa-wooooo!

[Waving her hooves over his head is sure to speed up the process!]

[Gosh, this is silly.

He might feel better, though.]

[But he doesn't seem to be feeling better enough! So Pinkie darts around - left, right, behind his back, crouching down, hovering above him because fuck gravity, she's Pinkie Pie - all whilst doing the weird gestures and silly noises.]
