It was an examle of rhetorical enthymeme. But there's no need for a suit... well, it would have come in handy against that dragon beast but really it's just for fun. Most things in Wonderland forgo much usefulness for simple pleasure.
[Tony stares at him for a moment then gives a vague grin.]
You're a bit of a smartass. Got to say, I like it. Especially with the whole accent going on, really sells it.
If you're really that bored all the time, I could probably design something for you to distract you.
[Tony picks up a tablet and flicks through it, wondering if there's a quick design in there that Sherlock could be interested in having. Then he frowns at the screen then looks back up at him.]
Just a bit. Keeping too much of ones intelligence in one's ass leaves the rest of the body rather envious.
And of course I'm bored. No murder and no real mystery outside Wonderland itself. It was at least somewhat interesting to be both a man and a character at first but it's getting rather annoying to have the latter generally preferred. A distraction would be fantastic.
[He's completely nonchalant as he continues to pace and look around.]
As for the dragon, I suppose I should call it by its proper name: the Jabberwocky. These things happen from time to time. I can’t be the only one who looks forward to it.
[Smirks at Sherlock's words. Oh yes. He was definitely going to get along with this guy without any trouble.]
Well I have no intention of handing out a means of murder, that part of my life is behind me. But I'm sure with a few tests and brain scans from JARVIS, I'm sure I could try and knock something up for you to keep you amused for an hour or so.
[His face takes on a curious and vaguely interested expression.]
Jabberwocky. If I remember the book never calls it a dragon, or gives any description of what it is, just how to kill it. Has it ever shown up here?
I don't commit murder; I just solve it. What exactly is a JARVIS, though?
Oh, our Jabberwocky is dragon-esque at the very least. John was one of the few lucky survivors of those who thought they could fight it. Most others were torn to shreds. I've seen him twice but notes going back as far as three years have not listed its appearance outside those times.
I know you don't. But I'm not going to set up any for you to solve is what I meant.
JARVIS, Just A Rather Very Intelligent System. He's an AI I created, say hello JARVIS.
Hello, sir.
Completely interactive and capable of autonomous thought. He ran my homes in my world, and kept track of systems in my suit. I was in here in my first week, building a computer big enough just to get him out of my suit.
Other than John, who else went up against the ball of ambiguous teeth?
[Not that Tony is interested in endangering his life or anything.]
You're right about that, there's nothing that happens in this room that JARVIS doesn't know about. Well, nothing other people living here anyway. Jarvis has no idea how the baby got in here, or how it left.
So then, just normal people tried to go against something like that. Doesn't really sound like a wise idea there.
[Watches Sherlock for a moment, because really he's done a lot of stupid things when he had no other options.]
Excellent point, and really it makes me hope no one mentions it to Thor, or Steve. There's no way either of them could leave something like that alone.
Yes, it seems there are quite a few real heroes here now. Makes things easier for the rest of us. I'll make sure you're alerted next time something horrible tried to kill everyone though I would imagine JARVIS would serve better in that function.
He probably would, doesn't mean you can't still tell me. Just because Jarvis tells me things, doesn't always mean I'm actually listening to him.
Not only that, but I can't get him synced into the communication networks properly. He can hear everything that's being said, but can't get a line out himself. Which I'm going to work on once I'm sure the Mark VII is perfect.
[He sighs with content. It's been fun staring at his machinery but there's not much more to do with it.]
I do hope Wonderland becomes a bit less dull with heroes around. It's possible the opposite is true but with this much ego in one place, surely things will become interesting.
Though where ego's are concerned. I'm the only one on the team who's ego is mentioned before his name. I promise you, talk to any one of them and they'll all point out how unbearable my ego is. If anything us being here will probably cause trouble, I have a tendency to get on their nerves.
So, anything here you want to play with? I need to know if some of these things can be broken by people who aren't me or a demi god.
[Oh, Sherlock can confess to more than a few things about his own ego but he won't. Instead he just nods, appreciating the other man's honesty. At the invite to touch, however, Sherlock's smile slowly spreads across his face.]
Any where you want really, just keep in mind that the other six suits aren't actually real. I could only get high tech non working models from the closets. But really, I never wanted to wear them. The place just looked wrong with out them there.
But hey, If you really want you can even put on the Mark VII's helmet, that's always fun.
[Sherlock is grabby hands at the helmet as soon as he can. He wants to see the interface. It will be like looking through someone else's eyes. He imagines it will be facinating.]
[Tony makes an amused sound and grabs up the helmet and hands it to him]
Once you put it on, it'll conform to your head. So don't freak out, and you'll probably hear JARVIS in there, feel free to talk to him. He likes that.
[Putting on the helmet will show the room and Tony in a faint blue hue. It will also pick up on things in the room and give information about them, including information on Tony. There's also temperature readings, suit data, heart rate and a line off in one corner stating that flight path data is inaccessible.
Once the Helmet is on, JARVIS will chime in.]
Setting up temporary settings for Sherlock Holmes... Set up complete.
[This is pretty much the coolest thing he's ever put his head inside. That list is longer than one would expect but the fact of the matter is that the helmet tops it.
Sherlock is quiet as he looks around, looking at his own hands and getting a feel for the different data showing.]
Quite a bit to take in at any given time. Must be second nature to multitask to a very high degree. Spatially minded--it's not overly cluttered to obscure vision but still easily read and accessible while keeping one's attention focused ahead.
I like your technical design. Aesthetically and scientifically.
[Tony grins and pushes off from the desk he's leaning against and approaches Sherlock and circles him, looking at how the helmet sits.]
There's less data when you aren't in the suit.
Standing to the Englishman's left he gestures to just before the corner of the suits eye.]
Normally the suits data is here, for damage or malfunctions. And well there's no traffic data for cars or aeroplanes, so there's none of that to worry about.
[He steps back and admires his helmet as it sits covering the taller man's head]
Of course, it's only on reserve power right now, part of the suits residual and back up systems. When I'm in it of course, it takes it's power from this.
[He taps his chest, where his reactor glows faintly under the shirt. there's is a definite glass-like sound as he taps.]
It has back up power which should be able to sustain flight for about an hour as long as I don't need to use shields, repulsor fire. Less if I put all the power to the thrusters.
When I built the first reactor for my chest, it would have easily powered a house for a whole year or more. It's had substantial upgrades since then. And when you consider that all it's doing when I'm not in the suit is powering an electro-magnet. It's not like powering the suit is going to cause any major drain.
[Sherlock knows only too well what it's like to get caught up in one's work. Lucky Tony can bring a good deal of his work with him to Wonderland. Sherlock envies that. He misses having something to work on that is that engrossing.]
So what do you plan to do with all this while you're here? Bigger, better, flashier, faster?

Should prove helpful. Certainly makes your room a bit more secure.
It was John, Dean Winchester who was torn to shreds and I believe Philip as well though I never cared much for the details.

Brave men do stupid things when there's nothing else they can do.

I can see why you don't bother much with sleeping.

Well, that's just me getting so caught up in what I'm doing that I forget to sleep, eat, show up to things I'm meant to be showing up to.
It just all gets lost to whatever I'm working on.
