Does anyone else feel really...well, odd?

[It's taken him a day or so of unsuccessful (and downright boring) bed rest to work up the nerve to admit that to the general public, but with everything that's going on outside, well. It's probably an event, isn't it? And if that's the case there's no point to wallowing around in bed.]

I don't think I'm sick or anything. I guess...it's like there's something missing, I suppose? It's hard to explain. Maybe I'm just a bit tired, but I don't think that's it either.

[He sounds tired though. And he looks a little worn out, but he's mostly frustrated that he doesn't know exactly what's wrong with him. Obviously an answer should have popped into his head as soon as he went to make this post.]

Anyhow, I was wondering if there's a virus going around? Maybe something to do with how grim it looks outside? I mean. I can't be the only one feeling like this, right?

There's some kind of curse going on.

[Going on outside and maybe inside? Everywhere, probably.]

Oh. Does anyone know a counter-curse then?

[Because it's obviously going to be that simple. They could have this fixed by the end of the day if they applied themselves!]

[If only it were that simple. Minato shook his head.]

Ammy said she could normally take care of it, but she can't now.

[He pouts.]

Well, if I knew what the curse was I might be able to come up with something.

[...But, wait. No. Stop. He deflates his ego a little.]

Then again, it might be more difficult. Different magic and whatnot.

[Not impossible though. But there's this nagging feeling inside that he wouldn't be able to do it anyway, and he's trying to ignore that because he is James Potter and he can do anything.]

[Minato nodded, believing that James might be able to come up with something to help reverse the curse or at least delay its effects.]

I don't think I could do anything now about it.

...I'm honestly not sure I could either.

That doesn't mean I won't try though, if I can! [Positivity! Optimism!]

What are you planning on?

[Minato would try to help, even without his powers.]

Hm. Not too sure yet!

[That's comforting, James.]

It would probably help to figure out what it is first, and what exactly it's doing to people. Then we can work backwards from there.

[Minato nodded.]

So far, this curse takes away powers and the fog petrifies most people who touch it.

[That's what he had been told. He knew about the first part, but didn't want to go about testing the second.]

That whole "no powers" thing is going to be a bit of a problem.

["Bit" being an understatement there. James seems highly unsettled by that (and just a little pale), but he tries to think of something anyway.]

...It petrifies them? Are you serious?

[It's an bit of an inconvenience too, to say the least.]

... I haven't seen it happen, but I believe it. I don't plan on testing it though.

[Since it was Amaterasu of all people (wolves? goddesses?) that warned them of the fog's effects, he was going to listen.]

Oh, no. Definitely not.

[He shakes his head. Petrification is one of those things you really don't want to happen to you.]

We have a draught in my world that cures it. ...Unfortunately it's made from mature mandrakes, and they take around a year or so, so I'm not sure that's a plausible cure.

[That and he doesn't actually know how to make it, or if he even can make it without magic. But he'll just skip over that part.]

I'm not sure if there are any here either.

[This was a Wonderland event; it was going to be (supposedly) impossible to find something to reverse its effects.]

... The magic from your world seems to do or undo a lot.

[Considering the other magic that Minato had seen at home and here. The list of spells and potions and charms and curses and the like was so extensive in James's world.]

[James has never thought about it like that before. But, after thinking about it, he nods a little.]

I guess you could say that. It's mostly about changing the world around us, on a big picture level.

[This makes perfect sense to him, probably because he's best at transfiguration, which is literally changing things into other things and then back again.]

[Minato nodded as he thought back about the event from James's world. Overall it had been a fun experience.]

Once you graduate from school, you'll continue that, right?

[The whole changing the world part, anyway.]

Oh, sure! Magic just kind of part of everything at home. You don't just stop using it once you're out of school.

[He laughs a little thinking about the alternatives.]

No offensive, but I don't think I could live like a Muggle full-time. I'd be rotten at it.

[Minato smiled just slightly. Being a Wizard definitely had its perks.]

It's okay. I think just for this event we're all without our magic.

[Or powers. It felt weird, but still familiar. So they all were kind of like Muggles temporarily?]

I don't think it's a virus. [A virus can't possibly have this effect on his powers.]

Yeah, probably not. I've never felt any sickness like this before.

[Therefore, he can't be sick. Logic!]

I heard it might be a curse? It sounded pretty likely to me.

That's what Amaterasu called it.

Maybe I should've paid more attention to the network yesterday... [Oops.]

Well, either way. If it's a curse, there's got to be a counter-curse somewhere.

Maybe. But if there were, would there be anyone who could perform it?

Well, sure! I mean, I think so. I'd normally be able to do something like that, but...

[But he has suddenly become magicless and it's freaking him out a little.]

It's not just you. My powers are gone, too.

[James sputters a bit at that.]

Wait, your powers? You're a wizard?

[And here he was, assuming Souji was a muggle this whole time!]

i'm noticing lots of stuff i didn't even realize i'd gained with my powers!

i guess i was using my windy thing to enhance sound waves or something and it just got to be habit...
it takes too much out of me to do that right now though.

[He should've kept it up with his hammer practice. Damn.]

...Wait. My magic?

[Somehow, that never even occurred to him. He could do a little bit yesterday, but he felt so rotten that he just...didn't do much, for once. But James looks downright alarmed.]

That's not possible. I've had my magic since I was a baby! My parents tell their friends stories about how they swear I could magic my mobile to spin on its own by six months old!

[Okay, now he's babbling, but it's given him a chance to grab his wand and swish it a little and there are no sparks what is going on?!]

And then, suddenly, he stops. He sets his wand down and just, stops everything. He looks like he's trying hard to concentrate on something, but whatever it is just isn't happening.

Where is his inner stag?!]

[The narration notes that that sounds kind of dirty.

John, however, switches to video.]

Uh, Mr. Po-- James? Are you okay?

[He just shuts his eyes and raises his hand up to the screen.]

Shh. I'm trying to turn into a stag.

[Unfortuantely, no amount of zen-like focus is going to make this either work or sound any less crazy.]

[Oh, of course.]

I'm guessing that's part of your powers, though. You probably won't be able to do that for a while.

...Right. Right.

[Sigh. What a killjoy you are, John.]

I was hoping that might've gotten around it somehow, but I guess not. It's a shame, really. It's obviously the most useful thing I could possibly do under the circumstances.

[And look, he's back to all smiles and kidding around, with sarcasm and everything.]

[John snorts.]

That's true. If it was a virus, there would probably be a potion that would do the trick, or maybe even muggle medicine.

[ potions and muggles? he sorta remembers that term... ]

Unless it needed to be made from something specific to that world.

Are you the person that caused Hogwarts, by the way?

Hm. That's possible, I suppose. Entirely frustrating, but possible.

[That last part catches him by surprise, but he grins anyway.]

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was me! I'm James Potter.

It is probably a similar occurance as the garden.

[Loki sounds really tired and when he talks into the communicator he is lying flat on his bed.]

And our tiny selves. And the extensive boredom.
There is a pattern...

[But he's just too tired to elaborate about this.]

You're probably right about that - those were all events. And they happen on a semi-frequent basis. And all of that fog isn't usually here...

[A thought occurs to him though.]

Actually, we should want this one to just be an event. That way it will eventually pass, even if we don't find a way to stop it sooner.

It is one of those events. Everything will be fine in a couple of days.

Amaterasu said that it's a curse from her world - so it is an event. She said the fog is extremely dangerous too.

...I've been feeling pretty weak myself.

I've been hearing that a lot. I was mostly hoping there would be some way to stop it. Curses have counter-curses where I'm from.

[He chuckles, and runs his hand through his hair, messing it up more.]

Guess Wonderland couldn't let us have it that easy, right?
