Oh wow, is this thing really on? Geez, you guys must be really high tech here! Hey, stop me if you've heard this one before, buuuut I think I'm kind of lost. Er, make that really lost, because the last place I was at definitely wasn't some techno-fantasy mansion place. I mean, not that I'm knocking that sort of thing. This place is pretty cool! I wouldn't mind having a thing like this for my own; it could be fun.

[At that, the edge of his mouth twists up a bit, into something of a smirk. An amused one, for the most part, although there's certainly a tinge of diabolical-ness there as his voice lowers in pitch a bit.]

[. . . aaaand within seconds, he's slipped that smirk back into an innocent smile — although he looks tired, too.]

I mean, really! I just got here and everyone's bombarding me with everything.

[Yousuke feels a familiar bitter and slimy sensation in the back of his throat. That tone calls back such an instinctive repulsion. Swallowing burns.]

[He pauses, rolling his shoulders a bit and taking a good, long moment before responding.]

[This was already getting annoying. Adachi heaves a sigh, trying to shrug off his irritation with the wave of a hand.]

[He lets out a snort at that.]

Please. Like I'm looking for anyone's forgiveness, let alone yours. But I'll settle for you shutting your trap for more than five seconds at a time.

You're a miserable little piece of shit, you know that?

[His eyes narrow, anger barely contained. Why, of all people? nothing he could say or do here would end in any sort of satisfaction. He just didn't have the words. But to leave now would make him feel like he let Adachi win, dammit.]

[. . . well. If he was going to insist on continuing this line of conversation, he might as well have a little fun with it. No harm in that.]
