I. video/action (dated to the dawn of July 23rd)
[ The video opens in darkness, the only sound to be heard the gentle movement of waves lapping against the shore. However, the very moment a tinge of light begins to creep over the horizon, a Voice begins to sing.
It is a Song the likes of which few have ever heard before. It rises as the light grows stronger, swelling with the tide and soaring as a bird may fly. It resonates in the air as well as the earth, a happy sound that could make even the most solemn of men dance to its melody.
The brightness of the morning spills over the waves, glistening with the newness of day. The Song crescendos finally as the sun peaks in the sky, only to diminish and fade into the sounds of the sea.
A few moments pass before the Singer finally appears. Great paws, golden and velveted all, appear first as he steps into view. A large, shaggy lion pads silently to the water edge, the breeze rustling its mane.
He stands there for a little while before turning and walking down the beach. ]
[ ooc: Please have a look at Aslan's PERMISSIONS POST before tagging! Aslan will be wandering around the beach as well as the outside part of the grounds all day. Feel free to run into him! He will respond to this video as well. Also, if you think your character might be able to detect/discern Aslan's true nature, feel free to have them do so! ]

The sun catches his mane like fire, a brilliant gold in the early morning light.
He does not change his course as he comes upon the other. He has no reason to and offers no hostilities. It is only when he is close enough for them to speak that he stops, just shy of the frozen sand.
Aslan says nothing, merely watches the other with a fathomless, knowing stare. ]

You shouldn't be here.
[ Here in this world, here with him - his remark isn't entirely clear. Broad, invisible wings curl close, but Lucifer doesn't make a move to reign in his Grace and allow the chill to vanish from the air. ]

They stand before one another as opposites, but Aslan knows, once upon a time, it would not have been so. ]
The world will keep in my absence.
[ His voice, at once rich, vibrant, and deep, rolls, as much as the waves do against the shore. Though his being here was neither expected nor planned on his part, he knows Narnia is well established -- it will not cease to be in the time he is gone. ]

And you think this world needs your presence?
[ As calm and even as the Devil's voice may be, he can't help the skepticism that threads it's way through it. It doesn't. They don't. ]

His gaze does not falter, his eyes no less solemn. ]
I am not the linchpin upon which this world was founded. It will stand or fall by a power that is not my own.
[ His name is not written upon its most secret places, and so it is not his -- to attempt to shape or mold something that did not belong to him would be an egregious breach in the rules that govern his own existence.
Despite that, his paws are not completely tied; if there is some good to be done here that is within his capabilities to offer, he shall do it while he is here. ]
Those who wish to seek me may find me as they will.
[ He'll not force himself upon others, nor will he turn them away. ]

You won't find any worshippers here.
[ And certainly none from his own world. They'd all been broken of their faith, human and supernatural alike. ]

I am, Lucifer.
Whether those who have known me are here or not, I am no less than what I am.
[ The belief of others (or the lack thereof) in no way influences his ability or purpose. ]
Those who have a heart to seek me shall find me. Whether they be few or many, I will not turn them away.
[ He is a king, yes -- the King, in fact, of the world from which he came. However, it is not a desire for worshipers or followers that drives what Aslan does. He has a love for Creation and everything within it, no matter how large or small. He'll force no one to abide his presence, nor will he forsake those who come to him in need. ]

But it's not his Father, and Lucifer doesn't have to obey. Won't obey, and his own stare is resolutely fixed on Aslan's. ]
And you'll defend them? The people here?
no subject
In times of trouble, should the need arise, I will stand with them as I am able.
[ There are certain things Aslan will not do, simply because people must be allowed to stand on their own two feet -- to choose and bear the consequences thereof. However, if there is truly a need, it's not something Aslan will ignore. ]
