2nd Mission video/action

[strategisch]

[Armin often visits the shoreline, so it's not unusual at all to meet him here. He sits with his legs tucked up to his chest, boots off, waves lapping at his feet. Sometimes for hours.]

[Those who know him might notice one small difference however; his clothing. His uniform looked more or less the same, but he was missing his green cape, and the emblem on his jacket was not blue-and-white wings, but two crossed swords.]

[He looks to his communicator at his side. His eyes, normally so bright with intelligence and curiosity seem unsettlingly dead.]

No one had ever told me... Is it true that this is the ocean?

[wow, Armin sure looks depressed today. Elsword frowns slightly, looking... well, also not at all like his usual self, though there are much more obvious differences than his lack of cheer.]

It's an ocean, or at least it's a big body of water. I don't know if it really counts in a place like this. [is an ocean an ocean if you can only go so far?]

Are you feeling okay? You don't look so good.

Hmm... [He looks at Elsword as he talks to him, but gazes back out at the ocean when he finishes.] It has "waves", and looks blue, like the sky, so I thought it might be. But I didn't know for sure. I've never seen it before.

[It's odd that he end the question there. Normally he'd continue-- "An ocean? There's more than one? There are other large bodies of water that aren't oceans?"-- but it never comes. He just stares out blankly.]

I'm fine. [Tersely. Like he's said it a million times.]

[He pauses, still giving the feed a skeptical look. Maybe he just didn't know Armin that well, but... this definitely didn't seem normal. And even if he's less outgoing about it, Elsword is still far too stubborn to give up at that.]

You don't sound fine. Are you sure you're okay? Everyone's acting really weird today, and there's supposed to be an event coming up.

[He shakes his head.]

Nothing has changed on my part. Though I have noticed some strange behavior from others as well.

[You seem a little more calm and collected, for one, but it doesn't seem too drastic.]

... You seem really down. You're usually more talkative than this.

I'm pretty sure this is an event. It's a really weird event, though. I guess everyone is acting a little different...?

[Traveler has not interacted with a lot of people prior to the event, so she doesn't even recognize Armin, let alone realize he's different.

The ocean, though. She does recognize it. Her home. No, she couldn't call it that anymore.

Still, she missed it. And seeing the video - and someone who doesn't recognize it? She replies.]

Yes. That is t he ocean.

Where I came from, I was never able to see it. I wasn't sure.

[He looks at Barbossa skeptically.]

People before you have said otherwise. Aren't things generally what they look like?

Of course they would. They'd believe only their eyes, wouldn't they? I'd like to see a headcount of how many here actually know her, as opposed to those that simply think a bit of water hitting a beach makes an ocean.

It isn't like you can know water...

[He huffs a small sigh.]

[His eyes narrow just the tiniest bit. Really, the longer he's here, the stupider people seem. So literal.]

Ah? But she can know you, mate. Again, I'd like to see a headcount. There be naught here that's sailed her, that's for damn sure.

And this one won't let you sail at all. It's a farce. A shoddy copy of an ocean and nothing more.

Think that would depend on what you mean by the ocean.

[ Because it sure is a large body of water. But is it an ocean? No.

I wouldn't know what to mean in the first place. I've never seen it.

[ Okay, that's certainly enough to stop Jack in his tracks. ]

You've never seen the ocean?

[Armin shakes his head.]

Not before I came here.

What kinda place don't have an ocean?

[ He sounds almost disgusted by the idea. ]

[ Eren saw Armin's post, and instantly knew something was up. He always knows when something's up with Armin. It's impossible to not develop some sort of Armin-sense, even if Eren is, legit, the most densest person in the entire mansion. So, while he might know something's up, he has no idea what it is, and obviously the solution to this is to chase Armin down at the shoreline. ]

ARMIN! ARMIN!!! [ He's in full Scouting Legion uniform, sprinting down the beach. Once he's close enough, he buckles over, hands on knees and panting. It was a long, long sprint, okay. ]

H-Hey-Hey. Armin, hey.

[In reverse, Armin's Eren-sense isn't what it used to be. Of course, he should have expected him to come, but... He jumps in his seat when he hears his name yelled, and quickly shifts the collar of his shirt up to obscure something, like it's a habit.]

E-eren... [His posture is stiff and unhappy; he reaches out like he might touch Eren's shoulder, but stops short and decides otherwise.] You don't have to run...

Of course I do. [ Eren's default movement is 'run,' not 'walk.' ]

Are you doing alright? You seem a little... [ He can't think of a proper word, so he just makes a :[ face instead. ] You know.

[ Guess who still hasn't realized this is an event. Instead, he plops down on the wet sand next to Armin. ]

Is this about the forest?

[You know. Elsword had said something similar, but it could still be chalked up to coincidence. Some of his days were better than others.]

[Either way, he didn't want to trouble Eren. He shrugs away a little he sits down.]

No... No. I'm alright. Really.
