[The feed cuts on to reveal a young boy. His curly blonde hair seems to have an almost ethereal glow about it and he's wearing a look that, while innocent in appearance, clearly hides something mischievous as made evident by the gleam in his bright blue eyes. His accent is English and, despite the fact that he's clearly somewhere in the preteen age range, it's obvious when he starts speaking that things like proper grammar and pronunciation are not important concerns of his.
He also sounds ridiculously casual given the circumstances.]
So I reckon I ought to start with an introduction. Seems only polite. [a bit of shuffling] My name's Adam. That's Adam Young, to be 'spific. [a pause as he absently scratches the side of his nose] And any other time I'd have my dog with me but for some reason he's not here. [there's a hint of a frown at that and he mutters a little under his breath] Which ain't all that right, if you ask me. If you ask me, you can't just up and kidnap a boy and not bring his dog, too. [a pause and he clarifies] Not saying they should bring Dog here, 'course. Just saying it's not right, is all.
[A shake of his head and he smiles sweetly for the camera once more.] Still, suppose it's likely for the best and there's no real changing it no how. [Well, there is, but he's only just arrived. Probably best he not start changing things up too much.]
What I really want to talk about is this place and what you lot know about it. Anything'll do. I just figured I ought to get some facts sorted before I start working things out on my own, is all. [A slight pause.] Uh… and that's it for now. Thanks!

[Adam shrugs. His tone is patient. Casual.]
Just what I said. They're mine. [He pauses for a second and decides to explain a bit more.] I told both sides to leave 'em alone. That they were under my protection on account of them backing free will 'n stuff. [a shrug] Go ahead and ask 'em if you want; they'll tell you the same.
Between the mention of "both sides" and free will, there's no doubt in Castiel's mind that Adam's referring to that. Very much not what he seems, then.]
I fought for a similar cause. [Still does, though that's been put on hold while he and his friends are trapped here.] And what was your role in stopping the Apocalypse?
Well... [He sounds thoughtful.] I reckon I was the one who did the actual stoppin' by not doin' what I was s'posed t'do. [His look turns pointed.] But 'snot like I did it alone, mind. No, there was Aziraphale and Crowley and my friends and a witch and a witchhunter and his 'prentice and Dog and... and... [It's clear he's getting quite excited by the retelling of his story, so he pauses for a second, calms himself, then smiles sweetly once more.]
But yeah. If you ask my opinion, everybody did something helpful. [He shrugs and absently scratches at the side of his nose.] I just changed the rules about a bit so it'd be easier for all of us to do it, is all.
[He refocuses on Castiel.] What 'bout you? [He technically could figure out the answer with absolutely no difficulty on his part, but he likes letting folks speak for themselves. Their ways of telling their stories are almost always better than just knowing it all.]
Just like Adam was saying, they'd torn up the rule book, and the fact that something so similar happened in another world is almost impossible to believe. Instead of it being two hunters and a fallen angel, though, it's a young boy, an angel, and a demon.
Adam is also probably more than just a boy. Some sort of Chosen One, Castiel's guessing.]
It takes more than just a few people to stop something so monumental. [They'd had plenty of help. Bobby, Jo and Ellen, Gabriel -- and they'd all lost their lives in the process.]
It was something very similar. I aided two people who were meant to play a role in the Apocalypse, and we saw to it that it never came to pass.
'Kay. [He's trying to sound reasonable but his tone carries a twinge of exasperation. Honestly. What is it with folks being so narrow minded and thinking only about the rules of their reality? He doesn't get it.] I reckon in a way you're right. If you don't got the right folks, it might take more than just a couple of 'em to stop somethin' like that. [A pause. Once again he smiles.] 'Course, most folks weren't meant to take over the planet and 'stead decided to protect it. That prob'ly helps.
He's going to need to ask Crowley about all of this the next time they speak, as he might get more concrete information from a demon than a child, surprisingly enough.]
What did you not do?
[They've deviated greatly from answering Adam's questions about this place, but Castiel doesn't seem to mind.]
Of course, he also doesn't want to make it seem like he has anything to hide because that probably won't go over so well, either, once the truth about who he really is comes out. So at the question, Adam just raises one shoulder in a partial shrug and keeps his tone as casual as if he were discussing the weather.]
I din't destroy the world, 'course. [He tilts his head a bit, thinking back to that day.] Well, first I helped stop the Horsepersons 'stead of leadin' 'em. Then I fixed all the stuff I'd accidentally messed up 'fore I'd figured it all out. Then I told Metatron and Beelzebub that I wasn't all that int'rested in runnin' the world or destroyin' a bunch of humans just on account of I was s'posed to and that they needed to leave folks alone now 'cause they were mine to protect and that's what I was gonna do if anyone tried messin' them about. [He nods a bit to himself, satisfied he's told enough of the story that he's not quite crossed the line into bragging. Then he shrugs again.] But yeah. Mostly, I just din't destroy the world.
Castiel takes in Adam's words, shock passing over his face a few times. This boy had been destined to destroy the world, just as Sam and Dean had been tools in that same machine?
He'd been meant to lead the Horsemen, even. Castiel is particularly surprised at the mention of Metatron, seeing how he'd been making his own trouble back home.]
Then you were supposed to have been groomed or... conditioned to want to destroy everything? Are you a demon? Or an angel? [He might as well get to the core of this now.]
He does a good job of shoving it aside, though, as he answers.]
I'm not an angel or a demon.
[Shifting a little so he's leaning closer to the camera, he does his best to explain because he knows that isn't going to be enough.]
If'n you want to get technical, Lucifer is my father. But 'snot like he raised me or nothin' like that. I grew up in Lower Tadfield, just like I said, and my folks are pretty average as far as humans go. [He smiles fondly.] I've got an older sister I don't see much now that she's left the village, and I've got a dog, and I've got friends who're the best and I go to school even if I think it's awful boring sometimes and, yeah, I guess I was s'posed to've been raised up to want to do rule the planet 'n stuff, but I wasn't so I didn't. Simple as that.
The son of a demon may mean that Adam is something like the Antichrist, then. Jesse hadn't been Lucifer's son specifically, but he had been demonspawn, which Adam also is -- and he may be even more dangerous than Jesse.
On the other hand, he turned away from his own fate, just as Jesse had. They're about the same age, as well -- at this point, the amount of things that their worlds share in common is reaching a level where it's eerie.
Castiel's silent for some time as he lets it all sink in. Once again, there was a fatal flaw in Lucifer's plan. Letting someone grow up as a human meant they would never agree to any destiny that involved mass destruction.]
Why were you raised by humans instead? Lucifer must have realized that wasn't an upbringing that would lead to your loyalty.
[He shrugs.] As for Lucifer, I don't rightly care what he thinks, if you want my honest opinion. If you ask me, for somebody that's got such a problem with people, he sure seems awful keen on messing them about. [He pauses, considers, and shrugs again.] 'Least he did. Folks where I'm from don't much have t'worry 'bout that, now.
Adam doesn't seem to think very highly of his father, and why would he? Lucifer's never done much to endear anyone to him. Controlling through manipulation and fear won't count for much in the end, and that's the same in Castiel's world as well. He nods.] We also put a stop to him. [It had hardly put an end to their problems, not even close, but Castiel still considers that when he feels like some task might be insurmountable.]
Oh? How? [He quickly clarifies.] If you want to tell me, 'course.
We had to trap him in a cage specifically built for him by my Father. It required gathering rings from all of the Horsemen to open the cage again, and then his vessel had to jump in with him.
[A sacrifice which Castiel and Dean alike hadn't been able to accept. They'd gone through plenty of grief to get Sam back and into working order. There may have been missteps here and there, but Castiel still doesn't regret it.]
To his credit, though, he doesn't laugh. His lips twitch, ever so slightly, and his eyes are sparkling a bit, but he manages to keep his expression mostly straight. His tone is fairly even, too, although it does waver a bit as he struggles not to make light of what he's been told.]
Wow. That's, uh, int'resting. Sure sounds like an awful lot t'go through just to stop him, though. [He's trying, Castiel, he really is, but seriously. This story sounds like something he'd make up on the spot just to entertain his friends.
After a second, though, he manages to fully compose himself and looks thoughtful for a few seconds before giving a decisive nod.]
Yeah, I reckon it was loads easier where I'm from. [He shrugs a bit.] I just decided he wasn't going to show up and, when he tried, sorta swapped him out with my dad who raised me up. [His nose crinkles a bit.] Got myself in a spot of trouble with him for runnin' about and not tellin' him where I was and stuff, but my not bein' able to hang about with my friends for a couple of weeks is better than Lucifer roaming about free to do as he pleases, if you ask my opinion.
In fact, Sam hadn't, which had led to a whole host of other problems.]
It was a lot to go through. [He nods firmly.
If only things had been as simple for them as it had for Adam. They hadn't had the antichrist on their side, though, and Castiel honestly has no idea what happened to Jesse. He had probably decided he didn't want to be found.]
And what happened to Lucifer then...?
