❧ Entry No.1
[ Hannibal does not make himself known on the network right away. He instead explores, reading what he can and figuring out exactly where he is. Wonderland. He's not above believing in what was once thought impossible, so long all the evidence fits. God works in mysterious, cruel ways after all, and Hannibal takes it in stride. He takes a day to officially announce his arrival. Making a move on the board without knowing what game you’re playing is be naive at best, but more likely just plain stupid. His device is comfortable enough in his hand, like the familiar shape of his ipad, and he’s already scrolled through, until he found he understood the situation well enough. Only then, after learning what he could and checking his person suit in the mirror does he show himself. It’s a video, and Hannibal is the model of concerned professionalism. ]
Good evening, my name is Doctor Hannibal Lecter, and it seems that I’m what you might call a new arrival. I’ve combed through the archives and believe that I have a good understanding of the situation at hand. While I do find it terribly rude that I have been torn from my home without the courtesy of an invitation, one can hardly expect such a formality from any higher power.
[ Not that he considers himself to be lesser in any way, but it’s curious, and he keeps the thought to himself, as he does so many others. He then pauses for a moment with his tongue to the roof of his mouth, choosing his words, before continuing. ]
It seems that I’m not alone in being pulled from my world into this one, so I find myself somewhat obligated by my profession to provide you all with a warning. There is a man here now, another new arrival, by the name of Will Graham. While I do consider him to be a friend and a good man, he has a history of mental instability and is currently on trial for multiple murders. I would suggest exercising caution in his presence and referring to me should you have any questions or concerns.
[Do you see that waters of being genuinely concerned in his eyes? Good. ]

[ He's given her enough, he thinks, to bait the line and make himself seem as open and helpful as he needs. There's a benefit to seeming transparency, but only to a point. Now it's her turn to return the favor. ]
I don't believe I caught your name. You have mine, so I believe an exchange is only fair.
Of course! Sorry. My name is Martha Jones. It's nice to meet you, Dr. Lecter.
[Which brings up yet another interesting question.]
May I ask what sort of doctor you are?
[ as for what sort of doctor he is... ]
Presently I'm a psychiatrist, though I do have surgical training.
[Those are two professions that they are in dire need here, so if Martha's face lights up at that news, she can hardly be blamed.]
If that's the case, then I may need to recruit you to help out at the clinic, at least during crisis situations. I don't know if you've come across it already? It's set up on the first floor.
[She gives him her best winning smile. Having a properly trained surgeon to help her out with any serious injuries would be like a dream come true. And she's already proved to herself and to everyone else that she can hardly be trusted to handle anyone's mental illness, considering what happened with Tom. Having a real psychiatrist she could refer people to would be brilliant.]
This is all working out quite nicely.
He smiles, and the interest isn't entirely feigned. ]
I haven't, but I have heard good things. Is the clinic under your jurisdiction, or have you simply taken to recruiting?
I started it and have been the most long-running member. I suppose that means it's under my jurisdiction. I consider myself responsible for it.
[There's a lot of hedging, as she feels guilty saying she's the one who runs it when she's had plenty of help with it. She and Victor founded it together. It's just that he was gone for a long while and forgot everything.]
Are you interested?
[ liar. ]
Are you a nurse, Miss Jones, or should I be calling you Doctor Jones?
Doctor Jones, at your service. [Why must everyone act so surprised that she's a doctor? She's young and female, yes, but it's also the 21st century.]
Though honestly, Martha is fine. We're all friends here. Would you like to come and see the clinic for yourself sometime, then?
I would. Perhaps I can have you for dinner afterwards, Martha.
