first dream | video/action.
[ bran stark has been told through all of his life that his family's curse is just that--a curse. growing up with the lidells had not been a bad life, save for a terrible fall that left him crippled from the waist down, but it was often a lonely one. while the family was big, they only had each other, and they lived that way because their curse wouldn't allow them to touch anyone who was their opposite gender, or a terrible thing would happen.
but here was the thing: for bran, it wasn't that terrible.
when he bumped into a girl in the middle of the hallway, it had only somewhat been an accident. he didn't quite recognize her, but bran was thrilled with the puff of smoke that followed, because he left his wheelchair (and his clothes) far behind. for as a raven his legs were still useless, but his wings?
his wings stretched on, catching the wind above the great house they've been spending their time in and sailing out through the windows. whoever he ran into would simply have to wonder where he'd gone, as when he was stuck as a raven? well, he could fly.
so, he does, out of the window and through the skies towards the tallest part of the mansion. he used to love to climb as a kid, and this is that but a thousand times better, and he soars through the mansion, ducking down to tug on the occasional dog's tail, feeling light and, well, free as free could be.
all that comes to an end though, and when bran feels the pull of being human again, he alights down on top of the roof. there's a poof and he's back to normal--and very stuck. he sends out a video message that shows just his face, showing a skill with the device that definitely wasn't there before today. there are six or seven ravens around him, just visible in the video feed, cawing and occasionally picking at his hair. bran seems completely unbothered by them as he speaks.]
Hullo. [ how to start this. ] I'm, um. Stuck on the roof. Would someone be able to help me?
[ how embarrassing. ]
{ this will serve as a catchall for the event! if you don't want to reply to the video post that's more than fine--just lemme know you want something different! feel free to run into him as either a raven or a person, although there isn't much "running into" to be done to a kid in a new wheelchairthat i can assume he got since this is an AU event ♥. }

hi boo
The wheelchair is a peculiar thing, even from a distance, but he's at least glad that someone has retrieved his friend from the rooftop, gotten him a proper change of clothes-- odd as they may be, as well-- and gotten him the chair. It's much better than a cart would be, considering it allows Bran to travel through his own power rather than someone else's.
(It also means that Jojen need not worry quite as much about how he'll traverse Wonderland, when his own strength is dwindling every day.)
Jojen clucks his tongue softly as he comes closer, Bran's wolf cloak draped over his arm just in case they wind up needing it again. ]
I wonder, will you listen to my advice in the future if you get stuck enough times? [ His tone is light though, and he offers him a bit of an amused look. At least he's no longer stuck on the roof. ]
hi there ♥
...but, he does at least have the gall to look sheepish. ] I couldn't help it.
[ his look is imploring--"you wouldn't either", really--but he wheels himself across the hallway when jojen comes close, reaching for the wolf pelt in his arms. bran couldn't tell you why, but he's always been attached to it--perhaps it's his status as a raven that would say so. ]
♥
And those who know the truth would hardly judge you for it.
[ But the memories, for as much of a lie to Bran and the others as they are, aren't fake. Bran believes them to be real, so they are real. He has no intention to tell him otherwise, and instead he goes along with them seamlessly. Perhaps it's easier for him to do than it is for others, given his sight and what it tells him. Or perhaps it's because of the position the young Stark has in his life. ]

You are the only one who does. [ he says so without much gravity, simply because it's already implied--he knows jojen's illness as jojen knows his curse, and it's because bran trusts him entirely. in fact, you could say it's a little light hearted and he gives jojen a faint little smile as he comes close. ] Are you well today, Jojen?
[ he hadn't been, not as long as they've known each other, but it was always worth an ask. ]
no subject
As is Jojen, he realizes. But he just tilts his head and looks off to the side as if contemplating the question.
Truth be told? He's actually feeling rather miserable at the moment. But that isn't to say he hasn't learned how to push forward and mask how bad it really is. He had, after all, had a great deal of practice while they were traveling beyond the Wall. So when he looks back to Bran, it's easy enough. ] Well enough, I suppose. Better than I had been earlier.

It's good to see you walking about! [ and truly, it is. ] Did you get my message?
[ said with all of the eagerness of a young boy--he's a sweet boy, quick to laugh, easy to love--and bran leans back a little in his chair, completely comfortable in jojen's presence, and one of very few people who earns that right. ]

It's good to be walking about. The fresh air helps. [ His enthusiasm is heartening, to say the least. ] I did. When did you wish to go?
[ Something in his chest warms with the comfort between them, the eagerness that he hasn't seen since before Bran fell from the tower. This mock-family has been good for him. ]

laughcriesthat reminds him of something his sister said, though, and bran looks over jojen. though he looks healthier today, there's still a sickly flush to his cheeks, and it concerns him. ] She also said that one of our cousins here is very good with medicine. I haven't met her since I was small, but she could help you.
[ though she is a girl. he risked a lot by sending jojen her way, but bran would do anything to be sure his friend was well again. ]

[ He should find a walking stick, honestly, but pretending to not need it reassures Bran more than the sight of it would he thinks. But his sudden information is a curious thing, and he tips his head the slightest bit. ]
Perhaps I will pay her a visit. Which cousin is this? You have so many, even I have a hard time keeping track of them all. [ As if he truly knows them. ]
no subject
[ really, he couldn't--the former stark was in high spirits. ]
Her name is Martha. She's similar to me. [ as in--she's a bird. ] And she takes wonderful care of the family. Jo said she would speak with her about seeing you, and I think she could help you feel well again. [ it has been a long time since jojen felt well, bran thinks, but here, he has no reason not to be hopeful. his cousins are infallible, aren't they? ]
no subject
[ As if he knows anything at all of the wizard, save for what his greendreams have told him in brief flickers. But he plays his part seamlessly now, for Bran's sake.
Yet he can't help his curiosity when it comes to this Martha woman. ]
Perhaps you might take me to meet her after we eat with Jo, then. Sometime, at the very least. She's your family, so I need not worry. [ Though he knows what the end result will, undoubtedly, be... well, Wonderland's futures have been fickle in his dreams. ]

[ james and jo are the best, is the summary of this right here. his smile fades a little, returning to his usual, more stoic expression, and bran nods seriously, worried for his best friend. ] I would be glad to. I've only met her when I was very small, but I promise she will take the best care of you possible.

[ There's another reason that he leans a bit of his weight on the chair, and that is because simply existing tends to exhaust him a great deal these days. He will hold it together, however, for Bran. And to meet the Liddells. ] Then we will have our visit with Jo, and find some time where we might see Martha.
