video;

[In light of recent network posts, Souji's a little hesitant to claim ownership of that last event. He hesitates on screen for a minute, looking off to the side before his eyes flicker over to look into the camera.]

For the record, the speed dating went a lot better here than it did at home.

[He rubs the back of his neck, not quite embarrassed and not quite apologetic, then shrugs. It is what it is. No need to feel bad about it.]

It was kind of nice to see home again.

[He's been away a long time.]

Snow is a no-nonsense type of girl. She has one icy glare, I can tell you that. But... yeah, I have a hard time saying no to her for... a lot of reasons.

[Bigby doesn't mention the look. He's seen it often enough and well, it's not entirely wrong.]

Events? ... you mean like what we just went through?

No. Oh, no. You don't want anything from Fabletown to come here. This place is mad enough.

It's in New York for one.

Secondly, the Fables aren't like anything you've read in the storybooks. They're people with lives and most of them are pretty pissed off they're in exile.

Ever see what happens when people are married for over four hundred years? Trust me kid, it's not always pretty.

It's a long story. The short version is we were run out of the Homelands by someone called the Adversary. Some Fables stayed behind but some of us fled to escape him. He hasn't shown up in the Mundane world but we haven't let our guard down just yet.

And New York is... well, it's a town you either love or you hate. Not many people can handle it. It's an acquired taste.

Huge. It's a sprawling, metropolitan center. It's got it's good parts and bad parts and the tourist parts.

It's home, now. Don't think I'd return to the Homelands even if the Adversary were defeated today. The city has a way of getting under your skin.

Well, sometimes its hard to stay unseen by the mundie authorities. THere've been more than a few close calls but we take care of our own. It's a nice system Snow has set up. Sometimes it surprises me we've been in New York so long.

I've traveled a bit. Used to live in the Black Forest in Germany. Nice - if not a bit lonely.

I'm happy in the city. The only thing I'd change is the smell. The old nose picks up far more than I like at times.

I'll stay as long as Fabletown needs me. Once they tell me to get lost, I'll pack up. Sort of how it works.

[Of course, he doesn't say that it's not the residence of Fabletown that need to tell him to leave. Hell, he's been hearing 'get lost' since he showed up in town. It's Snow that matters and Snow still wants him around. That's why he stays.]

[Bigby is quiet for a moment. He's thought about it but he's never made any real plans - not when he's certain that Snow still needs him.]

I hear that Canada has some nice forests. Might go camp out there for awhile, enjoy the change of scenery and get back to my roots, I guess.

For the moment, I'm comfortable where I'm at. Hate to admit it, but I've gotten kind of used to living in New York. No other town like it.
