[ Robin doesn't use his device too terribly often; not because he doesn't understand how to use it - he's caught on well by now - but he'd still much prefer to speak with someone in person, unless of course they really only need to ask something briefly of each other. It serves a purpose, he won't deny that.

And today, he's decided to step outside of his comfort zone and deviate from how he normally conducts himself, posing a few questions and observations to anyone who might be listening.

He's in the dining room at the moment, giving some thought as to what he wants to eat, and his face is rather perfectly centered as he speaks. ]

Before my arrival here in Wonderland, I had a brief stay in a small village by the name of Storybrooke. Everyone frequented Granny's diner, so I presume the food was extraordinary there, but I regretfully didn't have much time to sample it all.

[ He thinks for a moment, trying to remember some of the menu items: ]

I enjoyed the burger I was able to try, and the grilled cheese.

I was curious about something called buffalo wings. Does anyone know much about the buffalo? It must be rather small, based on its wing structure.

[ He's familiar with chickens, and the meat that comprises burgers, but buffalo is something new to him. ]

I've come to understand there's a particular type of food unique to diners, and while this place isn't a diner in the strictest sense, we can certainly acquire any of the food normally found there. I'm not sure what I should try. Any suggestions?

[ She doesn't sound at all worried about it either. ]

So, were you in Sherwood when my mom cast the curse, and then you went to the Enchanted Forest?

What was it like living in Rumplestiltskin's castle? There must have been a lot of stuff that got left behind.

I'm looking forward to it, then.

[ He really is, and he thinks they'll be great friends. ]

I was, yes, which is why I remained in the Enchanted Forest while others ended up in Storybrooke.

It was...quite different from what I've been used to, and there were a lot of trinkets and potions that hardly made sense to me. It suited us well, and kept my son safe.

And you as well.

[ He's a generally friendly and curious person, so there's a lot he could ask her, though he's mindful that they have time later to discuss things as well. ]

Do you do quite a lot of cooking?

I suppose that wasn't terribly sincere on my part.

And you know better.

I do look forward to trying this with you at some point, though.

[ The thing is, though, that's similar to an answer Robin would give. His family - which really just consists of his son, and Regina - and his friends mean more to him than anything else, and certainly any material possessions, or even the sights he enjoys exploring so much back home. ]

There's nothing more important than those we love. And it means no matter where you are, as long as you have them, you're home.

[ Turning into a fox was a strange thing, although he did get closer to some of his friends when he'd believed they were actually cousins.

He's glad Henry was spared from that, though there's sure to be quite a bit awaiting him that's not terribly pleasant.

There's little need to dwell on that for the moment, though, so Robin simply grabs one of the mildest wings first, taking a large bite and nodding his approval. Then, he moves to the next bowl once he's finished with that wing entirely. ]

These sauces are delicious, I can't thank you enough.

So do I. Also now you've made me crave Thai, so you better stop by one of these days soon.

I fully intend. Do take care in the meantime, Natasha.

[ He sees your piqued interest, Robin, with a smile. It's small, as like most of them doesn't quite reach his eyes, but it is present with purpose, namely that of playing the part of normal conversation. ]

You must be a good hunter then, to have survived this long on game. Nothing makes a prey animal run faster than the threat of being dinner.

And then...that's where you met my dad, right?

[Neal's not someone Henry had thought to bring up during this food expedition, but the realization that Robin had known him, at least a little, presented itself.]

He was trying to get to me. In Neverland.

Are you kidding?

[She grins. Robin, you've got a lot to learn if you're calling her appetite into question.]

I've got infinite room. Think of it as kind of a super power.

[She's of the opinion that nobody out there can pack away junk food the way she does.]

Ever had french fries? We're going to introduce you to loaded fries.

Oh, some. I'm not all that great at it, and you don't need to here, really. But I eat a lot, and sometimes it's a good way to get to know folks. Conversation starter. Even sort of how me and my hus--

[Oh. Wow. It's been so long since she thought about him so...casually. And even as it still stings, still hurts...it's different. She feels different about it.]

Uh. Well. My...ex-husband and I sorta bonded over food. He was a big guy like I'm a big gal, so.

[Huh. That didn't feel too bad to say.]

No problem.

[She smiles, skipping a few bowls to move onto the spicier stuff. She fans herself slightly, moving to the fridge.]

I'm gonna grab something to drink, you want anything?

[ Well, he certainly won't be doubting that again. Knowing she can keep up with his rather voracious appetite just makes this entire outing even better. ]

I haven't sampled fries yet, though the description sounds appealing. And I must say, that's a super power I'd quite like to have, myself. We'll see who gets full first, though.

Something best discussed in person, or not at all? In any case, I'd say our paths should cross in person at some point. Meeting over these devices isn't quite the same as meeting face to face.

It's really best not to discuss it at all. It's almost political, and that's dull as well as complicated.

Our paths crossed there, and he devised a plan that would take him to Neverland, so he could rescue you. I did my best to help him in that endeavor.

He was a good man, your father. A true hero, Henry.

Indeed, some of the best conversations I've had with others ended up being around the campfire, exchanging stories over a good meal.

[ Given the way she pauses, he hopes it wasn't a terribly traumatic separation, though he doesn't feel it's his place to ask if their separation was mutual. ]

It does help to bond over commonalities like that, and then it often lends itself to finding other things to bond over.

Perhaps sometime, I could do a bit of cooking for you, things unique to the world I come from.

[ The opportunity is there, and he has to take it: ]

My arrow never misses its mark.

[ That's not a hollow boast, either. He aims true, whatever he's aiming for. The few instances he's missed, it's been due to a magical interference of some sort. ]

[ He's pacing himself, thinking it's not wise to delve into the heavily spiced sauces without a slow transition, plus it's too delicious not to savor a bit. ]

I'm always fond of a good ale with a meal, but...perhaps something different today.

Does...soda pair well with this sort of food?

[ He honestly has no idea... ]

It's true! In that sense, anywhere can be home, as long as you're there with the people you care about, and with people who care about you.

[It's good to hear that Robin feels similarly. It's also one of the reasons she's been able to get by in Wonderland as well as she has. She still misses her friends and family at home dearly, but she's also become very good at making families wherever she goes. There are people who mean the world to Tohru in Wonderland, and it makes having to stay here just a little more bearable.]

[She beams, pleased at having made a friend so quickly-- and at apparently being a few steps closer to getting over her husband.]

Now that sounds like the bank of the river doing a backflip if I ever heard it! What kinda stuff are we talkin'?

I just wish...I could have talked to him again. I didn't even know him when he died.

[ He's trying not to go down a road that's depressing, even though it would be easy, and he takes a deep breath. ]
