[Henry had to figure out a way to ask for an artist without actually letting his mom know what he wanted. He had to be vague, and though she knew a little about what he was doing, he didn't think she knew that he was having a real actual book made for. Which was why Henry's face appeared on screen and he gave a little smile and wave.]

In case you don't know me, I'm Henry. I'm looking for someone who can illustrate. You know, like a kid's book or something?

[Wow, this was not shaping up to be subtle at all, but he figured as long as Regina was still surprised by the finished product, it was okay.]

If you can, it'd be great if you could get back to me. Or you can find me in room 27 on the eighth floor. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Really? I mean yeah, okay sure it's um...I'm writing a book for my mom. Kind of a sequel to one I already have. The really...really short version is that the book I have is a book about her, but it made her a villain. And so I want to make a book that shows all the good stuff.

But I can't draw. Not good enough for that.

[He's sort of hoping that maybe by telling the whole story upfront, she'll be more likely to say yes.]

[ she almost asks what the name of the book is, but. hm. if he's looking to write another version of it, there's probably a very good reason for it. so! ]

What kind of book is it? I mean, um- [ hm how to put this ] You said kids book, but what kind of kids book were you thinking, exactly? A storybook, like fairytales? Do you have a story in mind, or were you thinking of something that's mostly visual and kind of- just about your mom? [ squint ] If that makes sense. [ she laughs ]

[Henry hesitates just a little, because he wants to make sure he doesn't give the wrong idea about Regina.]

My family's history is written in a storybook, fairytale style. And it leaves out a lot of my mom's early life and goes straight to a time when she was really...[How to put this, really?]

...Hurt. She deserves to remember the times before that though, and all the good times we've had together. So, a new book, that's what I'm making. One with just us.

[truesight]

[ she nods, her expression sobering a bit ]

That sounds like a really awesome idea.

Tell you what, how about you send me any kind of descriptions or pictures or a scene from the book you'd want a drawing of, whatever you want, and I'll sketch something up so you can see if you like it for the book.

I can text you a picture of my mom. Would that help?

[He can send anything she wants, but he figures a picture of Regina might help to know what to work off of.]

Yeah! Absolutely. That would be perfect.

Cool, okay I'll send it now. In some of the pictures she should be a little younger. Maybe...sixteen? But other stuff would be me and her, doing things like making Christmas cookies.

[He sends the picture off, it's from when she saved Emma and Mary Margaret and there was a party at Granny's. Someone snapped a picture and since he hardly ever gets pictures with his mom smiling, he's kept it.]

[ she's totally making an "AW THAT'S SWEET" face as she nods ]

This is perfect. [ nodnodnod ] I'll get right to drawing that, and I'll send it your way as soon as I'm done.

a few hours later~

[ ringaling! Rachel's calling back a few hours later, video feed on, and she's got a sketched out, uncolored picture of Regina crouched down a bit, enough so she's eye-level while holding out a book to Henry. both have big smiles on their faces! it's all very cute and cartoony. the style's kind of like this. the second sketch under it is similar in how they're posed, only the style is more like this, and the third is like this! because nothing says fairy tale quite like detailed stained glass, heyooo ]

Any of these look like something you'd be into for the book? The second one wouldn't have lines, once it's colored. Like the hair and her outline, that'd be gone, if that makes sense. But... yeah, hrm. I couldn't pick just one, but it probably all should be at least a little uniform, so. Yeah. Any of those look okay?

[For a few seconds, Henry doesn't even say anything, but there's a lopsided grin on his face that only grows.]

All of these are perfect. How am I supposed to pick just one? They're all really cool. I think...hmmm...

[He has to think because really, which one does he like the most is the only question here.]

I think maybe I like the second one the most. But they're all really cool. The first one is how I want to learn how to draw eventually, though.

[Seriously, he can't stop smiling. This is all perfect.]

[ n'aww cute, she's glad he likes it, especially enough to get him smiling that much ]

I can definitely work with the second one. We could sketch out scenes together, if you want, that way you can practice your drawing, and I'll know for sure what you're looking for in each scene.

[That grin just doesn't go away, and he nods eagerly.]

Yeah, I'd really like that. We could hang out in the library maybe? Or if there's a better place to draw that you know of, that's cool too. I haven't found out about everything the mansion has to offer yet. [There's been some...family stuff.]
