[This isn’t the first time Freya is woken up to find her world changed, but she had thought she had put this part of her life behind her. She’s also super annoyed because she’s supposed to be saving her dumb family right now, but apparently she can’t ever have what she wants. Story of Freya’s life.

This is not where she’s supposed to be but she’s too paranoid to place that on the network right away. She buys her time, explores, gets to know things, and after finding her way to a bar for a big girl drink, while she’s sitting there, swirling the straw in her hand, she opens the device and decides to test the waters. She speaks calmly and clearly, but doesn’t show her face quite yet.]

So. Instead of demanding information I'm sure you've all shared a thousand times before, I’d prefer to keep things interesting. If you all don’t mind indulging the curiosity of someone who so rarely finds themselves in a place that is quite so … eclectic, I think I’d like to know more about where you all are from.

Granted, there are many variables that make up different worlds, so let’s not let ourselves get carried away. Beginning with one topic would probably suffice, so I’ve chosen the one that I know best.

[You can almost hear the smirk as she speaks.]

[The reason she chooses the bar, rather than the safety of her assigned room to make that particular announcement is that she does need someone to explain this world to her and as far as she can tell, there is only one person she knows and trusts here. She would rather hear it straight from Cami, getting potentially conflicting information from strangers.

(She's aware that she's fortunate Cami was there at all - she might have had no choice but to rely on the kindness of strangers - but for how she's choosing not to think about being trapped, alone, in a world she doesn't understand. It's bad enough that her siblings aren't here and she seems to be trapped here indefinitely.)

So there she is, perched on a bar stool like she belongs there, and waiting for Cami to make her appearance. That being said, she's not completely unfriendly, so if you wish to chat her up, she'll be more than happy to talk to you.]

I see. We have different kinds of magics where I am from as well, but they are more like religions, really. It's not the kind of magic you hold, but how you practice it and what the source of your power is.

I'm fine. More confused than anything else. Thankfully, this place, wherever it is, happened to take me from a moment where I was in minimal danger.

["I" being the key word in that sentence. Things were by no means calm.]

In my world, all magic comes from the Fade. But mages can channel it in different ways - sometimes it's a choice of what school or theory they will study, I believe, but sometimes they'll have a particular affinity for one branch or another

Although I'm afraid I can't offer a firsthand view, as I'm.... not exactly a mage and certainly no expert on the matter. If you like, i can point you to a few who are, however. If your message doesn't catch their attention on its own merit.

I have been practicing magic for a very long time. I assure you that I have plenty of reference, and it isn't to say that magic can't be quite scientific. It is energy and power, just like everything else. I believe that is covered in physics, is it not?

I have been trying to catch up on the latest advancements, but I've been quite busy.

[You know. Plotting to murder her aunt and trying to save her siblings. The usual.]

Oh, at the very least. [ he grins as he goes through the easy motions of someone who knows their way around a mixed drink. ] So which friend are you looking for, Jo or Cami?

[ Either way it has his interest fixing on her intently for a moment, because what he's learned about both their worlds makes him a little alert about who - or what - could wander into the bar at any moment. ]

I would like that. So far as I know, I am the only witch of my world here. It would be good to have some community, if nothing else.

[And people to help her try and figure out how to break the magic holding them here and get out.

It isn't that magic can't be scientific- it's the sheer implication of the word. They're diametrically opposed concepts in most societies.

[she chuckles, the very picture of confidence.] And believe me, as long as you've been practicing magic, I can assure you, I've been a technician for much longer.

Have you really?

[It's not often that she meets someone older than her, so she'll ask, simply out of curiosity.]

I've been a witch for more than a thousand years. How long have you been a technician?

That's good. Believe me, it's no fun showing up here when you've just been turned into a vampire's chew toy. [Mikael in this case, although she would avoid that specific mention if she can. Unlike all of her siblings, Freya had known a version of Mikael who truly loved her, who wanted to be a good and decent father for his children.

Honestly, it's hard to believe given Cami's own impression of him.

She pushes the glass over, taking the second for herself as she goes on.] That was the first time I got pulled here. The second was after I got arrested for murder, which I didn't commit, by the way. If he's shown up, Lucien Castle decided to drop me off with one of his dying victims, and the detective on the case took it the wrong way.

[To put it mildly. But depending on how much Freya's experienced at home, she really might not have any clue what Cami's talking about.]

[ Brennan would also appreciate that, because both his mages keep looking to him to accomplish said feat. ]

If you encounter anyone named Solas or Dorian, they would be who I'd suggest to start your discussions with. They're both mages and scholars from my world who know a great deal about strange branches of magics. There's also a Garrett Hawke, and a few others here who can use it as well. As for the other worlds, I've encountered two so far. A young man by the name of Billy and a young woman named Bonnie.

[ wonderland's latest event put elena through the wringer. she almost feels hungover from all the emotions. she is more than good with keeping this to voice. but magic, naturally, is relevant to her interests. ] Is magic public knowledge where you're from?

[ she is still so used to her secrets, even when there really is no need for them in a place like wonderland. ]

Oh, I'm plenty solid. But I can change shape whenever I want or fuse with other people like me into one shape.

[ His smile sharpens as she explains, becoming slightly fierce and altogether proud. Her world is not his, that much is clear when she says she does not recognize Thedas, but it pleases him to know that those gifted with magic elsewhere have also fought back against those who would deny them. ]

New Orleans is a name unknown to me. There is magic in abundance in my world, though many of the objects found in this world are unfamiliar to me. Technology, I've heard it called, though we've little of it.

Dorian's interest is immediately piqued, and while he already makes an effort to keep an eye out for new arrivals, he doesn't always choose to engage them-- this time, however, he finds doing so to be impossible to resist, and he offers her a winsome smile as he opens up the video feed on his own device, which he's managed to learn to operate with minimal fumbling by now.]

Magic, you say? Why, you're in luck-- I just so happen to be an expert on the subject.

Though she is really more of a friend of my brothers. But she seems to be the only one from our little ... circle here.

You'll find plenty of it here, that's for sure. But if I were to guess, you've almost certainly realized that by now.

[After all, it's Wonderland. That and magic go hand in hand, or at least Zelena thinks so.]

So then, what exactly about magic did you want to chat about?

[The incredibly epic eye roll that comes with the mention of Lucien should give enough of an indication how Freya feels about that particular topic. But it also helps her put the finger on what isn't quite right about Cami.

She's human.

It's a startling revelation that she tries to cover with a sip of her drink, wondering if she should broach the subject before deciding that it isn't worth it. That isn't the kind of trauma she should have to worry herself with quite yet.]

I also last saw Lucien before I arrived here. Though in my particular scenario, he was the one tied up with a broken neck about to become a rather annoying magical battery.

Solas, yes! He was the first person to mention mages.

[So she is a step ahead of you there, Brennan.]

But I will keep an eye out. Are there a great deal of people from your world here?

I wouldn't say public knowledge, exactly, but I am from New Orleans. The supernatural has a bit of a stronger foothold there than most.

[Magic runs in the city's blood, with the nine covens and werewolves and vampires on either side. All the locals know the truth of the world more than anything else, and they're not afraid to profit from it either.]

Besides, this place seems to be ... a safer place to be in the open than most.

[It's almost like a magical gem megazord. Not that Freya knows what a megazord is.]

Are there others like you here?

I have been on the wrong side of the technology learning curve - rather recently, in fact. It can be frustrating, to say the least, especially when everyone around you already seems to be ... up to speed.

[Cartoons were a novelty when she woke up after her last deep sleep. She's grateful that she managed to catch up as quickly as she did, but she's unfortunately had a lot of practice with that.]

Along with being a great deal of magic, there also seem to be a great deal of practices. I didn't want to assume that because someone is a magic user, they follow the same rules and restrictions as I do.

[It's a big wide eclectic world, and she's ready to learn.]

I've always been curious about this sort of thing. And it's the first time in a long time that there is so much new to learn about.

[Well that's something worth drinking to. The mutual disdain for Klaus' first sired has Cami knocking back her scotch just in time to miss the moment when it clicks for Freya that Cami's from her past, and how drastic of a thing that is. She thus remains blissfully clueless to her own future, something that Cami is more than happy about in a general sense anyway.]

I don't remember hearing about that, but it's not surprising. People tend to be brought here from different points in time. There's a distinct possibility that you're from what for me is the future.

Beyond that, we're also brought in from different worlds, or different versions of the same world. As far as I know, you and I are the only ones from New Orleans as we know it. It's--been that way for quite some time.

[Freya nods slowly as she swirls the whiskey for a moment, filtering things through until she knows what to say.]

The beings, whoever they are, who brought us here could have had better timing. I was in the middle of something important.

[But there never really would have been a good time for her to get kidnapped. Her face softens for a moment, however, at the idea of Cami here on her own. It isn't fair.]

I take it my siblings have neglected to make an appearance?

[That could be a good thing or a bad thing.]
