ƒ 001 [voice/action] open } { but you're bound to stay, for you've lost your way
[voice ~ ota]
[action ~ the bar ~ for cami o'connell, but ota]
[This isn’t the first time Freya is woken up to find her world changed, but she had thought she had put this part of her life behind her. She’s also super annoyed because she’s supposed to be saving her dumb family right now, but apparently she can’t ever have what she wants. Story of Freya’s life.
This is not where she’s supposed to be but she’s too paranoid to place that on the network right away. She buys her time, explores, gets to know things, and after finding her way to a bar for a big girl drink, while she’s sitting there, swirling the straw in her hand, she opens the device and decides to test the waters. She speaks calmly and clearly, but doesn’t show her face quite yet.]
So. Instead of demanding information I'm sure you've all shared a thousand times before, I’d prefer to keep things interesting. If you all don’t mind indulging the curiosity of someone who so rarely finds themselves in a place that is quite so … eclectic, I think I’d like to know more about where you all are from.
Granted, there are many variables that make up different worlds, so let’s not let ourselves get carried away. Beginning with one topic would probably suffice, so I’ve chosen the one that I know best.
[You can almost hear the smirk as she speaks.]
Let’s talk magic.
[action ~ the bar ~ for cami o'connell, but ota]
[The reason she chooses the bar, rather than the safety of her assigned room to make that particular announcement is that she does need someone to explain this world to her and as far as she can tell, there is only one person she knows and trusts here. She would rather hear it straight from Cami, getting potentially conflicting information from strangers.
(She's aware that she's fortunate Cami was there at all - she might have had no choice but to rely on the kindness of strangers - but for how she's choosing not to think about being trapped, alone, in a world she doesn't understand. It's bad enough that her siblings aren't here and she seems to be trapped here indefinitely.)
So there she is, perched on a bar stool like she belongs there, and waiting for Cami to make her appearance. That being said, she's not completely unfriendly, so if you wish to chat her up, she'll be more than happy to talk to you.]

Honestly, it's hard to believe given Cami's own impression of him.
She pushes the glass over, taking the second for herself as she goes on.] That was the first time I got pulled here. The second was after I got arrested for murder, which I didn't commit, by the way. If he's shown up, Lucien Castle decided to drop me off with one of his dying victims, and the detective on the case took it the wrong way.
[To put it mildly. But depending on how much Freya's experienced at home, she really might not have any clue what Cami's talking about.]
no subject
She's human.
It's a startling revelation that she tries to cover with a sip of her drink, wondering if she should broach the subject before deciding that it isn't worth it. That isn't the kind of trauma she should have to worry herself with quite yet.]
I also last saw Lucien before I arrived here. Though in my particular scenario, he was the one tied up with a broken neck about to become a rather annoying magical battery.
no subject
I don't remember hearing about that, but it's not surprising. People tend to be brought here from different points in time. There's a distinct possibility that you're from what for me is the future.
[To address confusing aspect of Wonderland #1.]
Beyond that, we're also brought in from different worlds, or different versions of the same world. As far as I know, you and I are the only ones from New Orleans as we know it. It's--been that way for quite some time.
no subject
The beings, whoever they are, who brought us here could have had better timing. I was in the middle of something important.
[But there never really would have been a good time for her to get kidnapped. Her face softens for a moment, however, at the idea of Cami here on her own. It isn't fair.]
I take it my siblings have neglected to make an appearance?
[That could be a good thing or a bad thing.]
no subject
[And that's it. Whether it's purposeful or random, the intent of some creature with insane power or the workings of a world entirely made of chaos, no one knows.]
But the good news is that when you do get sent back, you'll return to the exact moment when you left, as if you were never gone. You won't even remember being here at all--which is why none of us have ever mentioned it.
[Because Freya's assumption is wrong. The Mikaelsons have made their way through Wonderland before.]
They were here for awhile. All of them except Finn--[whom Cami feels about as fond for as Freya does for Lucien]--along with Davina and Hayley. I think it was late last year here when I saw any of them last. In Wonderland, specifically.
It's April now, by the way. Since that may not be the case back home for you.
no subject
[Assuming that the episodes are aired around the same time of year. Who really knows with this show. Her fingers wander down to her pendant at the mention of Finn, where she's spent most of the past year holding him for safe keeping. She wonders, briefly, if she can still contact him here, or if he is as lost to her as the rest of her siblings, but that is an experiment for another day.
Also, with knowing Klaus has been here before, it's probably for the best that she keeps her last name to herself for now. Klaus has a habit of making more enemies than friends and she is much more fragile than her siblings are.]
Whatever magic is doing this it must be incredibly complex. Manipulating a particular time stream, memory magic, creating this place to hold us in the first place, it's ... impressive. Though not necessarily in a good way.
no subject
Oh, that's just scratching the surface. Did anyone happen to mention the events to you yet? [Those just might be Cami's favorite part about being in Wonderland, if by favorite you mean the bit she hates the most. Either way, Freya either hasn't heard or she's going to want confirmation from someone she can trust--so Cami continues with the explanation.]
Every couple of weeks, more or less, reality as we know it decides to take a break. Either the world changes around us, or it changes us; you literally just missed one where all our emotions went haywire for three days, which is why the bar is going to be busy for the rest of the night.
But as invasive and as horrible as that was--it's not the worst Wonderland has put us through. [She presses her lips together, her eyes staring off into the distance as she thinks about some of the things she's been manipulated to do and to believe.] Pretty far from it, if I'm being honest.
no subject
I'm sorry you've been dealing with this on your own.
[Not that she doubts Cami's capacity to make friends, and she's sure she's made many, but there's a difference between friends that you are forced to make due to circumstance and friends that know you and come from the same place as you do. Especially with something that clearly upsets her like this.]
no subject
Secretly, she can't deny that part of her is glad that someone else from New Orleans has shown up for that very reason.]
Thanks--although in spite of that, I'm actually not doing too terribly. I work here, at the bar, although I'm guessing you already heard that. And I have that therapy practice I always wanted to set up. Turns out that Wonderland's mess is easier to schedule around than everything we have to deal with back home.
[Which, let's be honest, is pretty much all Klaus' fault anyway.]
There are other things, too. Like death. While people can still be killed here, they come back. And that's probably important for you to know, because once people hear you're a Mikaelson, it's going to draw some attention.
[Pretty much for the reasons Freya had thought of earlier. Again, Klaus.]
no subject
I think I will be keeping my last name to myself for the time being. As much as I'm comforted by the fact that death isn't permanent - [Spoiler: She's not.] - I'd rather not tempt fate just yet.
[Granted, Klaus could arrive tomorrow and bring it all down around their ears, but for right now, she can at least keep things calm. And it's not lying exactly. If they don't ask, she shouldn't have to tell them.]
no subject
[Including Cami, who pulls hers from her pocket and begins scrolling through the contacts.]
And while not everyone thinks about it, it does list everyone in Wonderland...including Freya Mikaelson.
[She turns the phone for Freya to see her name in its full glory.]
Although for the most part, people aren't violent. But there are some people who hunt the supernatural, at least in their own world. [Many of whom Cami is good friends with, and one of whom she may or may not have slept with.
Look he's totally hot and this place sucks, okay?]Pretty much anyone with the last name "Winchester" is probably going to side-eye you a bit once they figure out who you are. They're not bad people though. Just--a bit biased, sometimes.
no subject
I've dealt with biased people before. Do you think proving I'm mostly human will do anything to help?
[Because if they're coming after her the way they would an Original vampire that could be both dangerous for her and disappointing for them. Maybe if she can bridge the gap ahead of time, she can avoid things getting messy.
Also Freya is totally not one to judge for taking advantage of a pretty boy as a distraction tactic.]no subject
Yes and no. On the plus side, the guy who was the most actively for taking down your siblings is still here, but he doesn't actually remember he was after all of you.
[Which she hasn't actually explained yet. Oops.]
See, sometimes when people get sent home, they come back and immediately remember everything from when they were in Wonderland before, which is what happened to me. But other times, they show up and they don't have a clue about the lives they led here. So even if Klaus or Elijah or anyone else from our world were to show up, they wouldn't know anything about having been here before.
And neither does this hunter. Dean, by the way. [Whom will very likely flirt with Freya relentlessly the first time they get a chance to talk.] Come to think of it, he won't even recognize the Mikaelson name, so I guess that's one problem solved.
As for his brother Sam, let me talk to him. He and I are kind of...close. [Aka he's the one she slept with. And would sleep with again, under the right circumstances.] Ideally we can defuse the whole situation before it even starts.
no subject
That being said, she will follow Cami's lead.]
If he wishes to speak with me, it's not as though I have much occupying me beyond learning more about this place. I am certainly not looking to pick up where my brother left off.
[Wherever that may be. But at least that's good to know before she started reaching out olive branches to Winchesters who don't know what she's talking about.]
no subject
[Not flawless by any extent, but he managed to keep himself in check most days. Cami's very aware of how worse things could have been.]
He did compel one of the other bartenders for information when he got here though; Jo. But she's pretty understanding, so I doubt you'll get a lot of grief from her. [Maybe a wary look, but Cami doubts it'll escalate.] Honestly, a lot of the people who were around then aren't any more. You really might not have that much to worry about, at least once they get to know you past your name.
no subject
[She'll still probably not offer her last name willingly for now, but at least she's aware of Klaus' past behavior.]
At least it's good to know my brother can ... somewhat control himself when the opportunity arises.
no subject
[So they, there are some advantages to being in Wonderland. Yay?]
So let's see. I mentioned timelines, universes, the events, deaths...on the much smaller plus side, our basic needs are taken care of easily enough. Every room has a closet, like that one.
[She points towards the back, well familiar with the door's location in the bar.]
If you need something, go to the closet, shut the door, and think of whatever it is your after. When you open it, that item will be there--for the most part. You can't wish for anything overly powerful, or a specific item from home, but outside of that I haven't been able to think of anything it didn't give me. The kitchen and the cafeteria work the same way.
no subject
Convenient. That should be good for spell ingredients.
no subject
no subject
[Not one she will be making anytime soon, but a good option to know if all the same.]
I wonder what they do with all that information. All these memories, do they just disappear into nothing? Or do they use them for something else.
no subject
no subject
That doesn't surprise me. I'm sure my brother helped you run down the list of paranoia and delusions of grandeur. He's good at that.
no subject
Except Freya, now.]
Honestly, it's better that they aren't here. Wonderland puts us through hell anyway; the way the events go, it'd only be harder on them—and more dangerous for everyone else.
no subject
I suppose I'll just have to see what happens.
