[Kanji looks nervous as he turns on the feed, shifting uncomfortably with one hand at the back of his neck, eyes darting off to one side as if to make sure he's not being watched by anyone other than the folks he's broadcasting too-- it looks like he's in the diner at the moment, taking a break on one of the stools at the counter as he clears his throat and focuses his attention back on the device in his hands.]
So, I was just wonderin'-- would anyone be interested in some kinda arts and crafts workshop?
[He's been wanting to offer some kind of classes for awhile, if only to find other people with interests that are in line with his own, but he's been a little anxious about stepping up to actually say something. Events had given him plenty of reason to push it back, but if he was honest, being somewhere other than Inaba made him a little hesitant to take that big first step again, especially with how hard he'd had to work to make it back home.]
Nothin' fancy, but we could do different stuff each week maybe. Puppets, crochet, painting-- whatever. We've got this great youth center, thought it might be a good place for it. If-- if anyone's interested, let me know what days work for you, yeah? Thinkin' maybe some weekday afternoons. Y'know, we don't get events during the week for the most part, so-- probably seems like the best bet.
[He's rambling, and trying hard not to trip over his words, but he manages a hopeful smile as he closes out the message all the same.]
Hopefully I'm not the only one into this kind of thing. If you wanna talk in person, I'm in the diner most days, and I've been hanging out in the youth center in the afternoons. A-anyway-- thanks for listening. Lemme know if you want in.
[He cuts the feed, but he'll be working in the diner for most of the afternoon, helping Souji out both in the kitchen and behind the counter, wiping down tables whenever people finish up their meals. Afterwards, he'll be down in the youth center, where he's claimed a corner table for himself with a number of supplies laid out across it. Anyone who walks in will see him working on the finishing touches of a small knit doll: a monkey, to be specific, which he seems to be intent on dressing in great detail now that the doll itself is complete.]

video
[Too many monsters for that. His first event here had been the infected invasion-- screw that.]
Don't know if they do or not. Doesn't ring a bell, but-- I don't really get to watch that many movies in English.
video
[There's a small laugh here because that's right, everybody isn't speaking English or Japanese or whatever language people hear in Wonderland.]
Makes sense though. Between that and living out in the country you wouldn't catch it. It's not that great anyway, you're not missing anything.
video
[He has to wonder if what everyone hears is different.]
We get some foreign stuff at the movie theater in town, but eh. That's a long bike ride just to catch a flick, unless you got company.
video
video
[Which means a license is kind of irrelevant.]
Motorcycle does seem pretty cool, but they're so loud.
video
[Either she's missed something or there's not a lot of highways here.]
And yeah, they're loud and the people who ride them are usually tools. At least the ones I knew were anyway. I can't believe I used to think those guys were my friends.
video
[He grimaces in a show of solidarity. That's his opinion, too, more or less.]
Most of the bikers where I'm from are real assholes. Keepin' people up late with their revvin' up and down the main street. I showed 'em, though. [A beat.] You used to be one of 'em?
video
[Which wasn't really that long ago.]
Realized that it wasn't all it was cracked up to be, cleaned up my act, went way overboard with it, and now I'm just...me. I guess.
[It's not a bad thing to be though.]
Don't think some guy trying to show me anything would've gone well. No offense, but I probably would've tried to kick your ass.
[Which gets a laugh from her because she was such an idiot then.]
video
[He shrugs a little, frowning as he looks for the words.]
I don't really enjoy hitting anyone, I guess, except Shadows. Used to get into all kinds of fights, but I don't really miss it. I'd rather-- talk things out, now.
video
[Because that's how she's taking that. Kanji clearly comes from a normal world, why would she take that any other way?]
Re: video
[He's said too much, probably, except how much does secrecy even mean here? He's talked about his Persona before, may as well talk about this-- especially since they've shown up in Wonderland before and could always turn up again.]
They're monsters, sort of. I mean, they are, but they come from, uh-- people?
video
[Hang on, this actually has her attention. Not that she doesn't enjoy making small talk with Kanji and she definitely pays attention to it, but that sounds important.]
Are we talking Alien here, or something else?
[...unfortunately in Jolyne's world, it can be both which is gross and really sucks, but hey every world isn't Jolyne's world.]
video
They don't come out of people physically, but more like-- people create them? Without meaning to. Their thoughts, or fears, or their anger. Their uncertainty. There's like a whole other world we can't see most of the time, and all the Shadows in it-- they're what's inside people's hearts, except they kinda go crazy and turn into monsters.
[It's a whole big thing with fog and a pissed-off goddess, Jolyne.]
video
It's almost like Persona was influenced by Jojo.]Hey, it's none of my business, but these Shadows, you can't fight them normally, can you? Normal people can't see them or even tell they're there, so you need something else, right?
[This conversation sure has taken a turn.]
video
Isn't it though? He looks startled, going slightly wide-eyed.]
Yeah, you got it. Most people can't see 'em at all, don't even know they're around. And you can't just throw down with 'em, it's not like you can beat them in a fistfight.
[It sure has.]
video
I know this sounds weird, but we have something similar in my world. Except we call them Stands, not Shadows. And you use your own Stand to fight them.
[It's a little more complicated, but that's a better explanation than she got.]
And I've got one, that's how I broke that chick's door. I don't think you saw it though, did you?
video
[Weird, maybe, but what's even weirder is the fact that there's someone who isn't from his own world that he can talk to about this.]
That's-- that sounds almost like a Persona. I didn't see your Stand, but I was wonderin' how you did that. Your foot didn't even hit the damn thing.
video
[She probably shouldn't be proud of that, but she is. Her Stand's cool, okay?]
That's what I meant about doing stuff with string. She's sort of made of it? Kind of.
[It's hard to explain without inflicting body horror on Kanji and that's not cool.]
And it's weird, only Stand users can see Stands. You can see the effects of them, though? Like I said, it's weird. Do Personas come with rules like that?
video
[He's aware of the fact that he'll have to explain that, too, but he's not exactly sure how.]
I think you could see mine, if I showed you. I've used it here before, back when the zombies were all over the place? Used it to clear out the hallway near the diner, keep it safe.
video
In the TV, huh? I wish other Stand users were that easy to ignore.
[Just turn off the thing, walk away, and bam, no more problems. It's probably not that easy, but it's still nice to think so.]
But wait, there were zombies? Ugh.
[She can't help but scowl about that one, it's just...no. No zombies. She did that once, not again.]
I already fought those once, I really don't want to do it again.
[She knows they'll be different zombies, and infinitely less stupid to explain than the zombies she fought in her world, but still, no. She'd rather watch a zombie movie than star in one, okay?]
video
[He frowns, shifting his weight. He'll explain more about Personas and Shadows if they get back to it, but the infected invading the mansion had been recent enough that his memory of it was still pretty vivid.]
We turned the diner into a safe zone. Wasn't just bites that were turnin' people, but these spores that were floatin' around in the air.
video
[Zombies are gross. Spores that turn people into things are also gross.]
No offense, I mean, I'm not trying to make light of it, but man I don't want to go through shit like that again. I didn't even want to go through it the first time.
video
[Although smacking down infected using his Persona was kind of fun, at least until they started to grow in number. Then he'd stayed decidedly inside and behind locked doors, just to be safe. He can be reckless, but he's not suicidal.]
So you've got things like that where you come from, too?
video
[They got out of it okay though. That's why she can sound so annoyed by it happening and not upset about it or anything like that.]
video
[To say the least.]
Shit. We oughta compare notes sometimes. Sounds like both our worlds get pretty crazy.
