I'm s-sure. I promise. I've been h-here a couple of months-- Sans has been here s-since last year, and he's okay! There's... e-even if, uhm, they t-tried something, there's a lot more oversight, uh, h-here. There's a l-lot of people you can go to and there are even other h-humans and people who aren't humans or m-monsters who are willing to help.

Really. I s-swear. It's gonna be o-okay.

[they look at the video for a long time and sigh]

[She swallows, hard. Of course. If she can't imagine their world, then... how could they picture it back?]

It... It w-was nice. I, uhm, I mean, I m-met the human-- Frisk, er, that is-- when t-they were passing through Hotland. I got M-Mettaton to pretend to be, uhm, this b-big evil human killing robot so I could pretend to save t-them, but... they just k-kind of went with it? Until Mettaton decided h-he did, uhm, actually want to t-take the human's soul and go to the surface, so he tried to fight, but, uh, he j-just ran out of batteries. And, later, uhm, Frisk even helped me finally t-talk to Undyne about how I felt, and, uh... about everything in t-the lab.

[She thinks they must know, if they seem to trust her so much. Though she hates to think how they found out.]

And then, uhm, t-they helped all of us get to the surface. Nobody g-got hurt, uhm, at all, because of them.

undyne...

[they echo her name softly, voice shaking, as if saying it too loud will break the spell of this Dr. Alphys' happy ending. They push the thought of her aside.

Napstablook was just there a few hours ago.

It was sad but it hadn't scared them, seeing the amalgamates for the first time. They weren't as scary as the murderers outside.]

I t-think so. That's, uhm... t-the way Frisk describes it. That there are l-lots of possible timelines.

[She doesn't want to rat Frisk out for everything that's happened with Chara, and their... relationship, of sorts. That's not her conversation to have.]

There's, uhm, a l-lot of space here. And it's easy to a-avoid people, and, interact with them w-when you want. Even if it's n-not so okay, now, it c-can be. Will b-be, in the future.

[She wants to promise, but doesn't know how to keep it. So she doesn't.]

[God, this is harrowing. She wants to believe she'd do well in a crisis, do better, and... that's what Napstablook is saying, aren't they? That she helped, when it mattered. That she found the resolve to push past her issues. It makes her think of the Deep Roads, of carrying Sans out of that tunnel after he had to leave Papyrus behind. It makes her think of hugging Frisk in the library, telling them stories, talking about the universe. It makes her think of holding Ford's hands across a table as he told her about Bill.

She can do this. She's already done it. And if all goes well, she won't even have to.]

... Y-Yeah. Of course I'll help. Don't w-worry, I'm, uh. I'll be there f-for you.
