[ A few things to know about Kurt Weller:

1) He's not easily amused by people he doesn't know well, so good luck getting him to crack a smile without a little effort.

2) He takes things a little too seriously sometimes. Sometimes.

3) It bears repeating: he doesn't smile easily.

All that being said, he's not a completely stoic hardass incapable of ever having fun, and it just makes those moments all the more hilarious when they occur. Like now.

So, he's broadcasting to you all today, with a completely ridiculous lesson. ]

I was hungry late last night and wanted a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. [ Ordinarily, he would just make one himself, but not at 3am. ] Didn't feel like going to the kitchen. So the closet gave me this. This is wrong. Which means there are people out there from other worlds thinking this is how it's done. [ ...as though the correct technique for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches was of high importance to them... ]

[ So he's asked the closet for a jar of peanut butter, a jar of jelly, and a loaf of bread. He props his phone up and proceeds to make it the correct way, with the peanut butter on both sides of the bread and the jelly in the middle. ] You put the jelly between the peanut butter, otherwise it's gonna soak through the bread.

[ "Freelance" is definitely...a broad description that could mean a hell of a lot, but there's no reason he needs to know exactly what kind of freelancing he was doing. ]

The whole family. Wow. So that's a good thing, right?

[ Although personally for Kurt, he'd be extremely upset if his father suddenly showed up here. Upset, angry, and unsettled at the very least. ]

[ Kurt wouldn't fare much better if he had kids, really. Not because he can't cook - he's pretty decent at it, actually - but because his job keeps him so busy there wouldn't be much time for cooking. ]

You miss your kids? Or are they here, too?

It's worth it, trust me. Nothing worse than looking forward to lunch all day and then uncovering a soggy sandwich. Happened to me a few times when I was young until I started making my own lunch.

[ He smiles a little. ] Even growing up with me for so many years, my sister was making it the wrong way for my nephew. Poor kid.

Yeah. Good point.

[ He shrugs a little with a smile. ]

I can't do fancy stuff, but I've got the basics down really well. Mac and cheese, burgers, steaks, spaghetti. I love Italian food. But you should decide for yourself sometime.

No, thanks. [ It's tempting to think they could get things from home, but he wouldn't ever want to willingly give up a memory. Even a small one. Even the worst memories. So Peter has the right idea by avoiding the vendors entirely. ]

About two months now. My sister got here a few days after me. You have people from home here?

[ She's so much like Patterson at times, it's terrifying. Where the hell does she come up with this stuff? But all the while, Kurt is just smirking. ]

Yeah. Consuming kale is definitely something that would warrant a haunting from your ancestors.

Just doing my part to help around here.

[The question strikes John as kinda werid- what parent wouldn't miss their kids?- but he shrugs it off. A little invasive but ultimately harmless.]

Two of 'em are. But they're grown-ass men who can make their own shitty sandwiches now. Or, the older one does.

[Sam eats salads and granola and shit. God knows where he got that from.]

[ She looks amused. ]

Are you offering to cook me dinner, FBI?

[ He grew up with a father who couldn't have given a damn about him, so it's a pleasant surprise when parents do miss their kids. ]

Glad you have them here. I miss my nephew like hell, but he's so young I think he's better off home where it's safe right now.

[ He raises an eyebrow slightly, just smirking at her. ]

Yeah. I am. No nutella involved, but I think you might actually like it.

[She nods.]

Well, I'm certain you set her straight.

About how I feel too. [There's no telling what could be lost, and Peter doesn't want to take that chance.]

So still pretty new, huh? Already judging the closets too. I approve. [Peter smirks lightly and then pauses at the question.] No. Don't know if I'd want them to be either.

[It's dangerous.]

That depends. How would you feel if your parents and your sister were here?

[It's good to see them all again but there's still the discomfort with catching up and it's not like this guy knows he lost his mom when he was kid.]

I know some who would straight-up shoot me.

Hey. Ever seen Mulan?

Well, that remains to be seen, I suppose.

[ Consider her skeptical, FBI. Now it's a challenge. ]

My sister's here. [ He thinks about how much he wants to really say about his parents. His mother abandoned them when they were young, his father was a child murderer, so. ] I wouldn't want my father here. Or my mother.

[ Truth be told, he'd probably put a bullet between his father's eyes. Or at least want to. ]

That's what I'm here for.

[ That's what big brothers do. Among many other things. He's sure his sister has appreciated learning the right way to make a PB&J sandwich from him, though. ]

Just tell me when, I'll think up something good.

Small act of rebellion, all I can do right now. [ Judging the closets really isn't much in the scheme of things, but if anyone in charge of this place is listening, he hopes they're mildly offended, at the very least. ]

Things have been okay for now, but I hear things about this place. Makes me worry I can't keep my sister safe. If I could get one person home, it'd be her.

No. That's not one my nephew ever watched. [ Really his only exposure to Disney films is whatever Sawyer watches. He didn't watch a ton of them as a child himself. ] Why?

[She nods.]

[Just out of curiosity.]

[ Sharon freezes, then slowly holds up a finger. ] Ask your closet for a copy of Mulan. The blu-ray edition.

Actually, we have a movie theatre here. We should get everyone together to watch Mulan.

There are plenty of dangerous events. What you hear, it's-- It's accurate. I don't blame you for wanting to get her back especially if it's safer for her there.

[For some people, it's not the case. They come from really dangerous places, and Wonderland is a walk-in-the-park in comparison. For Peter, it's like having shared pressure. He's not the only super powered individual around. He's not the only one responsible.]

Eh, sometimes I'm not. They can kinda be shitheads, sometimes.

[He shrugs. It's his fault, really.]

But that's not why, of course. But it's a contributing factor, let me tell you.
