[He sounds almost amused. He isn't happy about being here, but if there was one time that Bill didn't actually mind admitting to being a little in the dark, it would be this. A version of himself from another point in one of his timelines might be the only person he doesn't really object to knowing more than he does. And hey--there's definitely worse company.]

[Yeah.. they invoked the Ancient Rite. It sucks that it came to this, but if Bill's current broadcast is any indication, he has far from given up. In your face, Mud skipper of Destiny! Pfft, as if Bill would ever follow Axolotl's backwards ideals of redemption.]

[Bill joined in the laughter, loud and shrill and uniquely irritating, before he followed suit and stopped as quickly as if someone had flicked a switch. A part of his mind might have wondered just how long it had been since his laughter hadn't sounded so fake, but then again, stars had lived and died since he'd even been able to tell the difference. ~~Lie until you're not lying anymore, amirite.~~

Of course, the thought of what would happen to any dimension with two of him was funny, in a madness and destruction sort of way.]

"See, I would, but that involves TALKING TO THE GUY, and ONE of us still ain't plannin' to give him the SATISFACTION."

[It barely showed on his 'face', but this... wasn't a comforting timeline to run across. Calling on the Salamander out of Space meant things were bad. That particular creature's deals came with too many strings--and this was coming from someone who was normally the best in the 'ironic twist' business. On the other hand, this version of himself seemed to be doing alright. Certainly better than he could have been. Huh.]

"THINGS ARE GREAT."

[After all, why worry just because another iteration of himself screws up somewhere?]

"Got a portal any day now--amazing what the right human can do with a little help from a FRIEND."

[That was probably a wink he threw in, though it's hard to say with one eye.]

[Well he can't argue there. Perhaps in some timeline that Bill will never face the choice between imminent demise and- ugh- asking for help from a benevolent galaxy amphibian.]

[Bill does not to return the wink!not-blink, much as he would like to. It's tempting to say that route with Stanford Pines does not wind up as fortuitous as they would have liked it to; perhaps warn himself to change the timeline before it is too late-- but what would be the point? If a sucker was stupid enough to get conned, they deserved everything they got-- even if that sucker was.. himself.

Besides, admitting something should be changed would be like saying he made a mistake! Bill Cipher didn't make mistakes. Mistakes didn't exist when you were eternal with endless chances to build off of them until they were forgotten to the void.]
