I don't believe we've met. [ They haven't met, but he still looks familiar. She's been here over a year now, after all. She thinks this is the guy with that private investigating place that Faith has mentioned. In which case... her mind is already running through scenarios she can use him for. How well does Steve know him? How good is this man at sussing out lies? ]

I might have ulterior motives on that front, yes.

Do you have any spy experience, or maybe some military training?

[It's a subtle correction, but since his training isn't strictly military, it seems worth making-- for honesty's sake. Truth be told, he's mostly self-trained, but he's no less effective for it.]

[ This message takes a lot longer to respond to than she would like. It isn't that she doesn't want Tony to help. She does. She just doesn't know how open Steve will be to that help, or how open Tony will be to helping him.

In an ideal world, the two would be able to talk without ripping off band-aids in order to pour salt in wounds, but they're both stubborn men. Men who would tear their family in two in order to fight for what they believe in - or want to believe in, what they feel they need to do.

The fact that they were so different but had managed to be friends for so long was probably a miracle. The fact that they're no longer seemingly friends was inevitable.

The problem is that these two are the heart and brains (and pockets) of the Avengers. They can't afford to be torn asunder in Wonderland, too, not when every event that comes along won't brainwash them into thinking they're good friends.

And, selfishly, she wants them to be friends again. She has a soft spot for both of them. Them being friends again isn't too much to ask, is it?

They've been friends before. They can do it again.

[Honestly, the avoidance is almost a little amusing at this point—almost. The inner fear it's indicative of, however, doesn't give Cami anything to smile about. Still, her best bet for now is to stick with the topic at hand. If Sharon manages to relax around her, maybe the woman could go as far as trusting her one day.
