So that event was a complete nightmare, like almost all of them, but something good did come out of it. Look!

[she pulls back the camera to showcase that her bodysuit now looks more like this.] It's official! I'm a real Crystal Gem now. It took me a few days to decide how I wanted to reconfigure my appearance modifiers after my form was destabilized, but I think I have it just the way I want it.

[she's so excited that she doesn't seem to care that (a. barely anyone will know what she's talking about and (b. that her bodysuit didn't even change THAT MUCH.

in the middle of her preening, there's a chittering sound and a flutter of wings and Peridot looks up abruptly.] ....Oh that reminds me. 

[she moves the camera so it's pointing at a cluster of bats that are taking up residents in the rafters of her barn-room. she lowers her voice conspiratorially.] These weird featherless birds won't stop following me. [she turns the camera to face her again- extreme close up style] How do I make them go away? I've tried everything! I've even thrown rocks at them, and they just won't leave.

[when Peridot opens the door, she is greeted by the sight of a gem currently covered in watermelon being licked by several bats while others hover around her waiting for their turn.

it's been a day.]

Yes... Yes, I do.

[heroica]

[ The Warden blinks at the sight, glancing slowly upward at the captivated bats. ]

You know... [ She begins thoughtfully. ] They seem to be drawn to... whatever you're covered in. Have you considered washing it off?

[slapfight]

Hrrrrgh... This was a recent development. I was trying to destroy them with fruit.

[her life is suffering.]

It didn't work.

[heroica]

Ah. [ She laughs lightly, glancing at the bats as they swarm happily around Peridot's head. ] You know... I think they might be more drawn to you because of the fruit. If you wash it off, they may go away.

[ At least, they may not hover like this. ]

[slapfight]

[SIGH] Is it raining outside?

[it's a logical question... to her....]

[heroica]

[ blink ]

Raining? Ah... no, it isn't. [ There's a pause. ] Do you not have a washroom in here?

[slapfight]

I was held captive in a bathroom for several days.

I'm sorry, I don't... catch your meaning.

No stranger than the fact that I'm being- EUGH- licked to death by these abominations. [she flaps her arms to get them to scatter again.]

All right. [ welp ] If it makes you feel any better, I don't think their licking will kill... or even hurt you.

[ She steps aside to let Peridot pass if she wants. ]
