My name is Georgette Marie Meissonier. Buffy to my friends. I'm a licensed fiction blogger with After the End Times. I'm using text format because, frankly, the video quality on the tech here is personally offensive to me and whoever designed all of this needs to sit in a corner and think about what they've done.

But, okay, enough of the tech tangent. For now.

I'm a little uncomfortable with this because facts aren't my wheelhouse. I make things up. On April 17th, 2040 I legally died because of well.. the usual reasons. Viral amplification. I shouldn't be talking. I shouldn't be doing anything.

I've looked at this network and in between being appalled at your complete lack of security I've read up on things. Everything about this reads like bad fiction.

There's a TV show? Brilliant. Who plays me? I'm in it, right? Who plays her?

I mean like... after a few days you come back. Not like undead or anything, you just... come back. It's like taking a really bad nap.

[ Buffy has never had a poker face, she's never needed it. Those weeks before the drive to Texas she kept expecting for George and Shaun to see the guilt on her face. It's no different now, her face falling as they tell her what's happened. George is supposed to be indestructible. There was always a part of Buffy that thought at the end of the world George would still be there reporting everything. ]

...how much is my fault?

Interesting question. Considering how deep this shit goes, the answer might very well be none.

[Which doesn't mean George isn't mad. Just realistic. If it hadn't been Buffy, it would have been someone else.

But if it hadn't been Buffy, they would still have Buffy. And maybe they would never have gotten as close to the truth as they did, but they'd all be alive.]

Then again, we had to work the rest of the story with tech we didn't trust. And they definitely got more information from you than any other potential spy. So you can draw your own conclusions.

A better question, though, is does it matter? You still made the choices you made.

[Shaun shrugs a shoulder.] I know where I'm laying the blame, and it isn't with you. Which doesn't mean you're blameless, really, but I don't think you killed George.

[Good news for you, considering how he feels about the people that did.]

Romances? Which variety? Torrid or sickening?

[ Except she was thinking. She was thinking about a home that she'd been forced out of with the rest of her family that she couldn't get back. And no apology will wash away the fact that she was weak to begin with. She was expecting heaven and instead she got a different story altogether. ]

I never wanted anyone to be hurt. I tried to make sure you'd be okay after they realized I'd cut them out of everything. It's why I rebuilt everything I could get my hands on. I knew I wasn't going home again.

Does it ever make you feel weird knowing people know about... everything?

It means I'm a writer. I write stories for my blog instead of news or poking dead things with sticks.

Why do they have to be mutually exclusive?

People say that a lot, it ends up working to my advantage a lot of the time.

We still couldn't trust any of it. We had no way of knowing what was safe or not, which meant none of it was safe.

[Shaun casts a quick glance at George. She's right, but.] I mean, let's be fair--we wouldn't have gotten what information we did get without her stuff.

[Don't even talk to him about Smile Time. It's bad enough that he'd had to live through it a second time thanks to Wonderland drawing from memories.]

Sometimes. I mean, kind of a big name back home, too. Guess I'd rather people recognize me because of a TV show than because of a reign of terror across Europe.

Fantasy doesn't have to mean heartwarming. It just means the impossible is happening.

I'm surprised no one's made a zombie preparedness guide yet. There are procedures to minimize exposure and contain outbreaks.
