[When Sirius woke up and realized that he was no longer in his rather comfortable room in the mansion, and was in a tent instead, his first thought was that he needed to poke his head outside and see just what was going on.

And apparently, what was happening was that somehow, he was now in a forest with tents that had sprung up all around.

He grinned, and did what seemed to be the next logical thing: turning into a dog for easier and nearly limitless frolicking! Plus, after all, you never know what little things you might uncover, and it would be a shame to miss them.

He came all the way out of his tent and sat in front of it for a few seconds, tail wagging and brushing up little dust clouds. This was going to be a glorious day.]

[ Oh my god.
Oh my god.

It's another dog. Jade is all over this. ]

Hi!

[Oh, look, it's a girl! And she's cute too, even if she does appear a little young.

Sirius's tail wags faster, sending up more dust clouds. He whines and pads a little closer, as though hoping she'll pet him.]

[ He does not have to hope because Jade is already bending down and scratching behind his ear. ]

I've never seen you around. Are you new?

[Yes. Pettings.

His day has been made. He lets his ears droop and he growls a little, not because he's angry, but as if to say that he's not new.

He's been around but hasn't shown very many people that he can become a dog. He just couldn't resist this time, though.

And now he bumps his nose against Jade's hand, wanting more pats.]

[ She decides to sit on the ground so it's easier to ruffle up his fur and pet him. She is so good at this. So. Good. ]

Is that a no?

[His tail whaps faster on the ground and he whines a bit in response.

He's been in the mansion about half a year, long enough to get himself into plenty of mischief. Just thinking about it makes him excited and his tail thumps harder.]

Okay. Okay. I get it! [ But if he isn't new, where has he been hiding this whole time? ] I wish I knew what your name was.

[He's been getting up to mischief, and that's been keeping him busy.

He sticks his nose into the ground and makes some snuffling noises. Snuffling, get it? Snuffles?

It's as good a name as any.]

[Evelyn has also been taking advantage of the lovely weather - even if the clothing is rather lacking, what is the fabric, she doesn't know - scribbling notes here and there about the local flora.

She pauses as she walks by one of the larger tents, turning to see if the animal before her belongs to Wonderland fauna.]

Hello there.

[Evie holds a hand out in offering.]

I feel I may have seen you before, but if not...I won't hurt you.

[He tilts his head quizzically, certain that he's seen her before but that they've never spoken.

And now he can't exactly speak while he's a dog, but that doesn't stop him. He sniffs at her hand then places a paw in it.

He's not afraid at all.]

[Very likely Evie was simply looking up assorted things in the library and saw a similar dog in a book, but it's difficult to keep track of things around here.

She is, however, very surprised by the paw in her hand. Stifling a smile, she shakes it.]

Very nice to meet you, then. Do you have a name?

[She knows it can't really reply, but she would like to know how much it understands.]

[Hopefully she didn't see the Grim, which, for some people in the wizarding world, is an omen of death.

But Sirius doesn't concern himself with things like that. He pauses for a second as if considering Evie's question, and then he barks.

Yes, he has a name, but he can't exactly say it right now. It's slightly unfortunate that she can't understand him at the moment, because he can't properly introduce himself, and transforming back could cause her to die of shock. That is something he does not wish to have happen.]

[Die of shock? All right, maybe a little.]

A pleasure.

[She plays along because she's that sort of girl who sometimes talks to her cat.]

I'm Evelyn.

[Sirius sits down and thumps his tail against the ground a few times.

Evelyn is a nice name. And she seems like a very nice person. There is nothing wrong with talking to your cat!]

Have you gone out and explored the woods yet? I'm planning on making a map later.

[She beams, because at least the busy work is some kind of work to keep her occupied.]

[Aang is taking a leisurely stroll; it's too beautiful of a morning to sleep in! Delightedly, this wasn't a bad event at all. He was so used to living outdoors that the thought of being able to spend a few days outside like this came as a relief.

A grin breaks over his face as he sees the happy canine loitering outside a tent.]

Hello! It's a nice day, isn't it?

[Just because he can't understand the animal language doesn't mean this dog can't understand what he's saying. Aang loved animals; and he's more than willing to get on this cute dog's good side.]

[Oh, look, it's someone else who can't resist a cute-looking dog.

Sirius bounds over to Aang with a bark and a tail wag. It is a nice day, perfect for basking in the sun and chasing after adventure.]

[Aang beams as he reaches out to pet the dog's head.]

You're a friendly boy, aren't you? Do you want to run around and play?

[The airbender puts his hands behind his back, making an air ball about the size of a tennis ball. He brings out the makeshift toy, giggling.]

You want the ball? Yeah? Go get it boy!

[With a mighty throw, he tosses the air ball in the air, manipulating its movements across the grassy field with his wrists.]

[Sirius decides now is a good time to run in a circle while chasing his tail. Yes, he wants to run and play.

He bounds off after the ball, but then he stops, momentarily confused.

It's not a solid ball like he was expecting! He turns back to look at Aang. What did he just do?]

[Aang laughs in apology.]

Oops, sorry. Air isn't exactly the best thing for this, huh...?

[He looks around the campsite before his eyes fall upon a well pump. That will do.

He crouches, performing the martial arts form to draw the water from the pipes; just enough to form a ball. The new toy in hand, Aang gives the dog a reassuring smile.]

There! Water will work better. Okay, boy, this is going to be a long one!

[Reaching back, he pushes the water ball through the air, and it goes flying across the campsite.]

[No, it really isn't, but it's all right!

Sirius leaps into the air and takes off running after the water ball. He may be acting a little silly, but who really cares? This is fun!

He lets out an enthusiastic bark as he pursues the water ball.]

[From where he stands, Aang moves his hands in the direction he wants the ball to go. Zigzagging, then turning around and coming back in the opposite direction, slowing it slightly so the canine has a chance to grab it.

[It's been a long time since he'd played around with any kind of animal - he hadn't done anything like that since he was a young child. This is nice! It reminds him of when Appa was a baby sky bison and they'd play for hours.]

[Sirius chases the ball wherever Aang sends it. He's really quite agile, and he tests his limits by running at increasingly faster speeds and making sharp turns depending on the direction the ball travels in.

He leaps into the air and pounces. This really is a lot of fun. He could do this all day.]

[Aang releases his grip on the water and allows the dog to grab it. He likes this little guy - full of spunk and spirit!

[He calls out to the canine,]

Good job, boy! That was fun, wasn't it?

[The thought that this dog could be a person hasn't even occurred to Aang.]

[He lets out a loud bark. That was fun!

He'd totally reveal himself as a human, but then they wouldn't get to have fun like this anymore.

Or maybe they would. He's not sure how Aang would react to learning he's not actually a dog.]

[Aang pats the dog's head with a grin. He likes this pup, a lot!]

Did you want to go again? Or are you tired?

[He glances around the campsite in curiosity.]

Do you have an owner? I wonder if they're worried about you...

[Tired? Tired?!

Sirius runs around in circles as if to show off how much energy he still has.

Then he sits down again and lets his ears droop. No, no owners for him. Not that he really wants one. He does well enough on his own.]

[Well, that answered his question.]

It's okay. It's nice being free, huh?

Alright, we'll play fetch again!

[Aang then proceeds to make another water ball, throwing it even further than the first time.]

[He yips in response. It is very nice, Aang.

He takes off running after the water ball, and overshoots a bit. No matter, he catches himself and goes back to leap on the ball, causing water to splash around him.

Does he look silly? Absolutely.]

[Aang bursts into giggles at the wet dog. What a silly puppy! He's happy the dog is having so much fun. It's been awhile since he's goofed around like this.

[With a grin, he waterbends a small string of water, shooting it in the dog's direction, using his hands to make it fly around like a string of yarn.]

[Having fun and goofing off is Sirius's main priority. And if he can help other people with that, then he's doing a great job.

He chases the water stream, following it wherever Aang makes it go.]

[He directs the water stream in a circle, getting it as close to the dog's tail as he possibly can without breaking it. Will he take the bait? Aang's not sure.

With a "come hither" motion, the stream quickly zips between the canine's legs before hovering in the air tantalizingly.]

[Oh, so this is a very clever human. Not that Sirius thought otherwise, of course! He's very impressed by Aang's abilities. How is he doing these tricks with the water?

He'll be asking about it later on for sure.

For now, though, he bounds after the stream, determined to catch it.]

[Holding back a laugh, he lets the water go, splashing the dog with it.]

Okay, boy, I'm getting kind of tired. I wish I had a treat for you, but I'm a vegetarian.

Tell you what: I'll give you a tummy rub and we'll call it even, okay?
