[video] it's a cat-astrophe
[Sans looks more tired than usual, which is saying something.]
hey, uh. has anyone seen a cat?
[He rubs the back of his skull.]
not a talking cat or anything. a regular one. black fur, one bent ear. kinda moody. answers to 4, usually.
[He sounds pretty neutral, but he can't quite stifle a quiet sigh.]
lost track of him during the event. we got cornered on the third floor and he, uh. got away from me. he's been through worse events, so i'm not too worried, but he just...usually turns up by now.
[He's quiet for a bit, staring away off camera.]
if anyone's seen him, please let me know.
[ooc: the cat is fine and will turn up on his own unharmed, unless someone wants to find him first.]

[He nods, reaching off camera to pick up a tin of tuna.] i've looked for him, yeah. leaving out food makes sense, though. i didn't think of that.
no subject
Honestly, why would you let them go off on their own with so much danger about anyway? Are you not supposed to be responsible for them?
no subject
[He drags himself up and goes to set the tuna out in front of his door, listening to Toriel as he goes.]
[Responsible. Ha. God, he's tired. Tired enough he almost wants to just--stop. Stop leading her on, stop pretending. It'll happen eventually, like it happened in his dream. Everyone else is wising up to what kind of person he is, so why not Toriel as well?]
i'm...not a very responsible person, tori.
[Why would you let them go off on their own?]
i was trying to...he just got away from me.

I am sorry, I should not have gotten upset.
[Really, she was more upset at herself, as she spoke, and elements of it suddenly became all too familiar.
She hates how easy it can be, to link anything at all to bad experiences, and sink into unpleasant thoughts.]
Even when you try your best, sometimes those under your protection simply refuse to listen.
[Way, way too easy.]

[He lets people down. People, animals, inanimate objects. It's what he does.]
[He knows she's not even thinking of him, because why would she? It's not like she knows. No, she's thinking of kids. Nine different kids. Two of her own, seven that might have come close.]
[For her sake, he's gonna pretend they're still talking about cats.]
yeah, well. heh. cats are like that. they don't listen to anyone.

[It's not like he just stood there and accepted the cat telling him that they were going to go off and get themselves killed, after all.
...She needs to change the subject. Immediately.]
Really, you must be kitten me if you think... uh...
Drat, I thought of the pun without any way to really segue into it. I will need to try harder.
no subject
heh, it's okay. that was a good one. doesn't have to be purrfect.
no subject
[See, now this is much nicer. No more dwelling in negativity. Just harmless, distracting fun.]
no subject
well i can assure you, it definitely was. it would've been a downright cat-astrophe if our punning days had to come to an end.
