I'm writing in regards to the Mirrors as if they're not already the hot topic issue around here, but don't worry, it's not another warning about a murder-happy lunatic on the loose. I'd like to ask for a favor. Or maybe more like a citizen's arrest? If you happen to see a blond man with a dead look in his eyes and a sun symbol stamped on his forehead, that would be mine. I've attached a handy picture for your reference.

Be a dear and kick him back to his side should you see him, all right? He probably won't run or do more than bore you to death, but if he's here that means I'm there, and my skills aren't much good on the other side of the glass.

My opinion, there's no such thing as a good or bad version of us. They're the Queen of Hearts creations and she's as mad as a hatter. Why they are the way they are says more about her and her design sensibilities than us, I think.

You should give yourself a break from the guesswork. At the end of the day, they're just another piece of the Queen's handiwork.

They've got to be at least somewhat accurate though, which means that her handiwork is kind of scary.

Do you think that's why people dislike them so much? Because the thought of facing something that looks like you but isn't you is frightening?

That, and they're the result of plundering our memories, probably.

It's what made the looking glass part in the books memorable, isn't it? An off-putting alternate world where some things are similar but not quite the same? I imagine your circumstances are more complicated than some people's, though.

I think what scares me is that our power is supposed to be the same, isn't it? If he's as powerful as me...that will be a problem that I need to find some way to take care of.

Not necessarily. Mine isn't representative of me in the ability department, yours might not be.

How powerful is powerful? World-ending powerful? I'm still foggy on the details.

You know, I just realized I have no idea what you can do. What can you do?

"World-ending" might be a good description for it, in some ways, but I don't think I could destroy Wonderland in a single attack or anything like that.

I have an array of talents ranging from juggling to knowing the words to most sea shanties on the Amaranthine coast, but I expect you meant narrowing it to supernatural abilities. I have magic.

Oh well, good. Two or three tries is reassuring.

The magical kind of magic. It's an all or nothing sort of deal.

How about you, what else can you do beside shop for glassware?

Are you purposely not being more specific? Or just holding out to get in a few jokes first?

You don't have to brag, I can destroy stuff, too, you know. Mages like myself channel energy from the world of the Fade. I can't stop a building from falling on you, but unlike some here our abilities are only really limited by our knowledge. I do my best work healing and controlling the elements, mostly.

Well... in my world it has rules and systems like any science. I never had a chance to learn how to shapeshift, but if I had the right spells and time to practice, I think I'd make a fine tiger.

Just think, we could have matching stripes.

Everything's a science if you're looking to get good at it. I'm sure some would argue with me, but you don't just wake up one day a master. We've all set our bedsheets on fire at some point before we learned our ABCs.

I guess so. I never had a lot of trouble, but I also didn't really learn. My powers just kind of happened.

[After a short pause.]

That sounds kind of braggy. It wasn't supposed to be.

"Regrettable" was the word I was thinking of. These powers you keep mentioning come from the magatama, don't they?

You've been fairly vague yourself on the subject. What sort of abilities does it grant you?

I can heal. I can also make lightning and fire, but not in small amounts. And I can make the earth crack and light come up out of it.

[That latter is actually an attack, but he doesn't really know how to explain that other than to describe it.]

No, when I describe it like that it doesn't. But it's called Gaea's Rage and it can kill people.

Okay, now we're getting to the bad part.

What sort of destructive order of magnitude are we talking about? These are these abilities have the power to end a world?
