[ HELLO WONDERLAND it's your favorite grumpy murder grandpa. What's up.

Joel had been truly shaken when he'd found Ellie alone in the woods, hiding away from the world and with a broken arm she'd been too scared to even go and get treated properly. When she'd finally told him an abbreviated version of what had happened, he'd gone from feeling shaken to feeling sick.

He'd done his own research first, to no avail. At a loss and unable to make further progress on his own, he's finally caved to his last resort - asking the other residents for help. ]

How d'ya kill your mirror.

[ And don't tell him it's not possible. ]

Yeah, it's happened once in my three years here. I don't know if it'll ever happen again. But, if you can get your mirror in front of a mirror when everything's open so you're both technically on different sides, that might be a loophole.

[ She's hopes that made sense. ]

[ It didn't, really, but that's okay. ]

So how's everything - open up, then? An event?

An event, yeah - usually. Or if someone stupidly opens up a portal that rips open a way to the mirror side.

[ Which she's hoping never happens again. She's still upset with Fitz over it. ]

Guessin' that ain't happenin' again anytime soon.

Not for a long time, all the people involved are on a science time out. [ Not that she really had any control over Cisco, but Fitz... yeah. If she caught wind of him doing anything sketchy again, she'd let him have it. Her kicking his butt in front of Captain America would be the least of his concerns. ]

Like I said, the mirrors tend to come hang out at least once a year... So at least you've got some time to make a plan.

[ Science time out? He raises his eyebrows, but doesn't question it. Instead, he hums in quiet dissatisfaction in response to her optimism. ]

Don't like the idea of hangin' around that long.

[ While all the while, his Mirror lurks in that reverse Wonderland, spying as much as he can on Joel and Ellie and plotting his next move. ]

Yeah, it sucks... But I haven't seen a better option for getting over there that's not gonna result potentially in the deaths of a lot of people.

[ She shrugs, lips forming a bit of a frown. ]

Might be a good plan to stop off in the library to see if there's anything recorded in there about safe passage to the mirror side without making everything go haywire. I bet there are some old journals in there from previous residents.

Hm.

[ It's a good idea, and Joel considers it, frowning in thought. ]

Could be somethin' there.

If I can think of anything else that might help, I'll let you know.

[ And just because she has a potential solution to his problem at a worst case scenario type thing-- ]

Worst comes to worst, I might know someone on the mirror side that could take care of your problem. I just don't know what the cost of doing it would be. [ And that might be scarier than the actual asking of the favor. ]

[ He scoffs, a little disbelieving. ]

Y'got someone over there you can trust?

Uh, no. Definitely don't trust him, but he's kind of obsessed with me and I'm pretty sure he'd do it if I could feed him false information about the mirror or ask him to do it.

[ Which would come with a whole lotta strings, but she's already killed him once the last time he was able to cross over and had come after her. What's one more time? ]

[ Joel frowns. This sounds like trouble. ]

Obsessed with you.

[ Welp. ]

Yeah. But it's fine, I killed him the last time he came through the mirrors. [ She tries to say that with all the nonchalance she can muster. But, she's no Natasha. It still bugged her, even if he technically wasn't real. ] He still talks to me through the mirror and I know he's still watching me. So, if I can redirect that energy somewhere else, it wouldn't be a bad thing.

[ His expression of disapproval only deepens as he listens, and before she finishes talking, Joel's shaking his head. Too risky for everyone involved. ]

I don't want anyone else caught up in this.

I get it, but if you ever hit a point of desperation... There's an emergency option. [ It's not something she offered lightly, but Ray's mirror's obsession with her apparently hadn't dimmed after she'd killed him. She'd rather try and redirect his energy into something productive, but it was a huge risk considering he was basically a narcissistic monster. ]

Just let me know. I'm down in the coffee shop most days now, or on the 7th floor, room 27.
