Joel had been truly shaken when he'd found Ellie alone in the woods, hiding away from the world and with a broken arm she'd been too scared to even go and get treated properly. When she'd finally told him an abbreviated version of what had happened, he'd gone from feeling shaken to feeling sick.

He'd done his own research first, to no avail. At a loss and unable to make further progress on his own, he's finally caved to his last resort - asking the other residents for help. ]

How d'ya kill your mirror.

[ And don't tell him it's not possible. ]

[Well that definitely had Seth's attention. Mostly because he's considered it himself.]

Best way I've thought of would be to get someone to help you with it. Get them to trade somehow with their mirror, go over and kill them and then you show their mirror their own image and whoever helped you is back.

In theory it should work. If the queen or other mirrors don't take them out before you bring them back.

That's what I've been told. Haven't played at it yet, though I've considered setting up a mirror opposite the one in my bathroom. Can't hurt, right?

Don't do it on the real side. They revive just like the rest of us. Learned that the hard way with another mirror.

[ Hers wasn't worth killing, at least as far as she knows. She sighs before continuing. ]

But if you're gonna do it on the mirror side, be careful - if you die over there, you're screwed. No waking up in a day or two.

That's the catch.

[ Because there's always a catch. ]

The version of the mirror you killed would be gone, but the Queen person over there might remake him or make a new version of him that could be better or worse. Also, usually Wonderland forces the real over to the mirror side and the mirror over to here when the passages are open. I've been around when that wasn't the case, so it's not an absolute, but it might also be good to find someone that can take out your mirror for you - a real. Not another mirror. Don't trust another mirror to do that.

[The last time Daisy had seen Joel, well, it wasn't him. A lot of the people here hadn't been themselves. Still, it's a little hard for her to forget what his mirror said to her. Even if it just skeeved her out more than anything.]

Wouldn't that mean you'd have to get to their world to even try and kill them?

[Her knowledge of the mirrors isn't as good as some of the other people here. She's yet to run into her own which is both a relief and a worry.]

[ Welp. No, he hadn't thought she'd miss it entirely, but he'd hoped to delay the inevitable a little longer.

Joel raises his eyebrows, but stays seated. He's doing his best to convey that this isn't a big deal, in the hopes that Ellie won't freak out. ]

[Evelyn has known of Reals getting to their Mirrors before, and distinctly recalls a time when Philip killed his own. He was hounded by mirror messages from his double's lover for days before the Queen remade the doppelgänger.

The grim certainty in Joel's voice and that writ into his brow suggests he is of no joking mind about this.]

But the circumstances are not something we can achieve with our own resources. They have to be presented to us.
